  1. Yeah silly me was actually concentrating on the road
  2. Well the FCAI are the body that represent local car manufacturers, so it's fairly obvious that they're gonna take that position. The comment was a backhander aimed at 15 year imports which came in in plague proportions before they shut it down, but seriously that changed 5 years ago now....move on...the street racing comment is just a cheap attempt to cash in on the hoon hysteria that the media loves at the moment. Given he got a quote out of it, it obviously worked. The irony is that, in terms of emissions at least, import cars are subjected to stricter treatment than local cars, because they are expected to meet the emissions regs applicable when they were first produced when they are imported - my wife drives a Ford Territory, and given that it has only done 90,000kms and is already chewing oil and getting smoky, I'd love to see how it would go passing a similar test....
  3. Rowan please tell me you don't talk like you post in forums....
  4. Real men drive Cubes haha The J-Spec site is crazy good - for a numbnut like me, it would've cost like eleventy-billion dollars to pay someone to build something like that for me! If anyone wants to help me out and knows their stuff (I don't even know what programs people need to be good at!), give me a yell. I've got some good ideas, but in relative terms, I wouldn't know the first thing about site design.
  5. Didn't I already answer this via email?
  6. lol cheers for the plugs you guys, I'm embarrassed! Tell your mate to give me a buzz and I'll ask around and see what's available locally for him. I don't carry my stock but I still have the mad hook-upzzz with dealers.
  7. Can you PM me the car details, I should be able to track it down...
  8. Navara, Hilux, they all look the same those Jap cars...
  9. Spotted some knob in a Hilux ute hurling abuse at me in my Evo...sour grapes I reckon
  10. For realistic prices on manual V35 coupes, I don't advise spending under $25K landed and complied if you want something with genuine kms and at least a grade 4. Anyone who tells you they can get one for under $20K is blowing smoke out your a$$.
  11. Haha I have a problem with the driver, not with the car
  12. My suggestion - buy locally and buy from a state (such as SA) where there are no P-plate restrictions. They can't give away auto NA R33s over here.
  13. Mark you've got an email from them, if you haven't spotted it already - seriously they are clowns...
  14. Yeah 17 days is fairly normal for stuff sent via mail, but when it's submitted online, taking more than a month is a bit of a joke. Maybe I should offer to help them clear the backlog...
  15. PIs are taking HEAPS longer since the rules were changed late last year, I know of one case that has still not been resolved and he submitted his in December last year...
  16. lol at the grammar stuff - I was a renowned grammar nazi when I was teaching. I still end up correcting the work of one or two magazine editors these days!
  17. Because the reputation of all Skylines isn't being ruined by the douche in my neighbourhood in his stock R33 with cannon exhaust who thinks he's a drift king every time he goes around a corner bouncing it off the limiter in first gear...
  18. I think you'll find it was complied complied under the old system, where a totally separate VIN was assigned to the vehicle when it arrived in Australia - since SEVS was introduced, they now add extra digits to the existing chassis number.
  19. I'm glad I managed to escape your wrath, DRIFTT
  20. Damn you Shan! Pete give me a buzz and we'll talk. I've been looking for something old school in Japan for a while now, maybe we can work something out with importing you a nice manual C34 thrown into the mix, possibly an Autech 260RS if you prefer.
  21. lol sorry to all you conspiracy theorists - I know absolutely nothing about the case, I just have the feeling that there is more to it than we currently know, but it's purely a hunch. OP feel free to give me a buzz on 0402 904 069 if you want to discuss it over the phone instead. Or any of the other businesses who regularly post in here can help too.
  22. Did you ever consider that the laws are there for a reason? Seriously...
  23. As far as plots go, this one is getting thicker...
  24. Sold full volume in Australia so they can't be imported. Evo 8 MRs can be bought from $32K upwards. ontheranch, yes it needs to be an unsecured (personal) loan when importing your own car because they can't use the car itself as security if it's not in the country.
