  1. I think you know what option we'd prefer too
  2. I've lived around and In Penrith since I moved to Sydney. I wouldn't pay much attention to RBDouche25. He's probably driven through the riff once or twice and just heard all the jokes that one makes about the suburb to their west. (We even do it to Mountain People ) Penrith's great. There's a fair amount of stuff to do, the people are friendly enough, you don't often have to deal with shit traffic if you need to get somewhere, there's a great car scene (thursday nights), decent night life, nice scenery (river, glenbrook park + mountains). Penrith YMCA is a great gym. it's $26 a fortnight and packed full of great equipment and there's almost 0 knobheads who go there. As you can see from the lists above there's plenty to do and it's a nice area. Only drawbacks of Penrith... It's an effort to pull an all nighter in city due to transport (unless u get a hotel) and... By the time you drive an hour to beach in your air con car you don't feel like going to the beach ) They're seriously the only 2 negetives I can think of. If you want more info or details about stuff, send me a message. Glad to help. WOW!! RB was right... We're not to friendly out here are we
  3. HI Beenar, I've just got a D90 with the 18-55 kit lens. Although when I took most of those historic race pics I 'borrowed' some long lens from work. Will confirm what it is tomorrow. Here's the rest of pics from the historics. THe first one here is my fav from the day.
  4. And a couple more from the Historic Race Car Meet

  6. Sexy pix boys! here's a crop. I think your right and it looks better when tighter. i'll have another go at home tonight if i get time with an original file.
  7. I'll post up the original later on at lunch, or when i'm back home. this pic was taken at the historic race meet held at eastern creek last week. you're looking at alan jone's old f1 car from the early 80's. (not sure of what year) cheers
  8. 2nd Attempt at tilt shift... once again... thoughts?
  9. ahhh talking about pano's. This isn't a pano, just a pic I cropped (obviously). Like it? Hate it? What could make it better? What works for it? I've tried to do a couple of these and I usually end up with a pic I don't mind... but sort of lacks something... Ideas photo gurus?
  10. NA - I like the paint one. it's cool! I'd also like to know where to purchase an afro duck...
  11. Take Zenon's advice. Try to keep your camera on manual mode for a few weeks and force yourself to get used to it. After a little while things make sense and you find out it wasn't as daunting as first thought. Use your light meter to tell you if your close to the right level for exposure. Once you've found the levels you want go crazy making different adjustments to see what effects you get. Your pics are always framed really nicely. You'll have it all worked out in no time What camera are you using?
  12. Ok... I will then Went for some hot pot down in the city the other night. Took some pics. I'd forgotten how hard/impossible it is to take some good photos at night when you've forgotten your tripod Here's a mate. Thought it was a kinda cool pic Darling Harbour Trouble at Cockle Bay (Darling Harbour) Yep, you guessed it... Darling Harbour Here's one I murdered in photoshop.
  13. Prescott, those pics are from the Nasho down around sutherland yeah? Nice clean pics.
  14. if your polariser is letting in the reflection of a hot chick next to the car, that's a good reflection. if your polariser is letting in the refection of extra light from the sun you don't want, that's glare! You know what i mean anwyay
  15. Tough as! Also Loves it.
  16. As you rotate it lets in light from different angles, so you can twist to let some reflections in, and glare out, or twist to remove reflections and let glare in. It Imagine all the light coming to you is made up of 3 sine waves moving sideways like slinkys. one is horizontal, one is vertical, one is 45" between. The CPL removes the light from ONE of these directions, changing as you rotate it. Wow I sound like professor frink! WHOOO HAveNNNNNN and the MOnkeys!!! \ | \ | -------- | \ | \ I'll post up an example when i get home. I have a few test shots from the same angle to show the difference.
  17. Sams on fire! another nice one
  18. On your camera you will have an 'S' Mode, which is your shutter. The longer you hold the shutter open, the more light you'll let in to the pic. Try to take another night shot with the shutter speed turned up really high and then adjust it back so you get the effect you wanted This photo was taken in the middle of the night, it was fairly dark. I had the shutter open for about 30seconds.
  19. Practicing with lighting at home
  20. Yeah, do what Nick said, have the shutter open for about 10 to 20 seconds there and you'd have a fantastic shot! Looks like a good spot for a pic
  21. R31 Time

  23. Mates dog Scooby Dooby Dooo
  24. Hey Nick, There's a few good spots near Nepean River. You've got the boat ramp on your side, and you just need to drive along river rd on the other side and pick a spot. You could head to Eastern Creek Raceway (obviously whilst the gates are open) around the back hill there's plenty of open space with nice grass and good curves. You could head to the wreckers on northern road to get the grafitti wall Have you tried to scope out Norwest? Possibly around that large lake thing? That's somewhere around here I've thought of heading out to as well. Or if your stuck... Head to Homebush. Everyone has done it before, but that's because it's always good for a shoot. If I wash the car next week I might head down one evening myself! Great idea! haha
