  2. mmm.. tv on my pc don't have to leave my desk actually that is sad.. lol
  3. ..guess thats true also.. I think some have to realise what a bitch it can be from the sellers perspective. Often don't people don't turn up and you're waiting around for hours when you stayed home specifically from other things, people often insult you with prices you know they are just being ridiculous with as they don't have the money, or the picture thing or dreamer aspect. After you have bought and sold a few cars over the years you probably don't know what its like. I don't think some people really realise how much it can be a saga to sell a car. Sometimes it pays to put yourself in the sellers shoes.
  4. yes it was .. but i don't have a (fun) car.. that was last week when i had a fast shiney sportscar
  5. no shit!
  6. yowch.. $20k could'a had my car.. bit late now. but it had an mp3 player, etc. nothing too fancy but it worked.. i just cancelled my insurance today -- good feeling.. now don't have to pay out $120 a month or whatever i was paying. ahhhh.. freedom
  7. hahaha.. if only i could walk from brisbane to the goldcoast each day
  8. see its only us oldies that are wise in the ways of the geek
  9. least i will never have to worry about huge car bills for a while
  10. $4k.. woa.. that makes my $1400 100,000km service bill look small
  11. Not necessarily. If you can get a good condition Rb26dett at a reasonable price I would say the conversion would be cheaper. But if the engine blew up after you'd put it in then it would get very expensive. May also fetch more money on resale as the "oh its got a GTR engine in it" might appeal more but that is debateable. and also what llwells said above. .. they're differnt engines with different strengths and weaknesses.
  12. What do you mean by "newer skylines" ? And i assume what you were asking is do the older skyline gearboxes fit into the "newer" skylines? (whichever they may be) You'll need to be more specific
  13. Things have changed even in the time I have joined, which isn't a massive amount of time really. Seems the forums are getting a lot "younger" and the intelligence is dropping a little Don't think you would have got many of the types of threads you now get a couple of years back..
  14. i think the biggest concern will be finding somebody who can tune the HKS ecu (fcon?). You probably are best going for another ECU that can be tuned readily by a local workshop. kkk turbos meant to be alright... quite popular in japan.. give it a try first!
  15. hmmm.. sounds good - thats pretty damn good for an internally gated turbo of that size. i would think it would be a little laggy on a rb25det though(?)
  16. I sold my R33 last friday.. for about $1000 less than I was hoping (when you take into account i sold it to somebody interstate unregistered, etc)..but otherwise was happy. formally on the market for about 3 weeks.. mainly internet forums but not too much interest. Then just when I was getting serious with trading post, carsales, etc it sold very quickly. That could have been co-incidence though. I'd definitely recommend carsales.. $10 until it sells, and gets good traffic. Trading post, just do "pay on sale". Your ad might not grab attention immediately, but if somebody is genuinely after a skyline, they'll scour it until they do see it - but there are many types of buyers. Internet forum advertising is largely waste of time IMHO - but just put up the pics, specs and history and that will cut 99% of the time wasters. But you never know, I bought the R33 through here, and my r31 thru another forum forsale section. So cars do get sold that way occasionally. good luck!
  17. yeah.. its b.s. but its always been a defect item in most states.. anything that basically extrudes from the car that isn't factory they can do you for if they're being ****ers. Obviously they were.
  18. yeah.. importing one for race use would be sweet.. then if u get sick of it just strip it all and flog the parts. old lancer, wrx or something tricked out
  19. hahaha.. i'll give u $10k for it.. CASH man.. CASH i dunno, i just get bored of stuff easy
  20. no offence to anybody.. but i am kinda sick of r33
  21. yeah.. i'd prefer to see it b4 i buy it.. but oh well.. if u wanna save money then thats how u gotta do it.. havent seen any great bargains locally... few reasonably priced r33.. but i kind of had one of them.
  22. i haven't imported anything yet
  23. sweet.. broker good.. dealer - takes $2-3k+ i could spend on monster turbo
  24. man.. how many 89 GTR are up for sale at the moment? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=45902 although i will admit some aren't too bad condition from what i can see.. just a little pricey.
