  1. Id like to find out about this too. My car has an engraved plate but it has the plastic rivets. The VIN on the blue plate also matches up with the one engraved on the body of the car too. Does having an engraved plate always mean the car has been rebirthed?
  2. Hi can someone please explain what the tensioner spring actually does? Is it neccessary to replace the spring when you replace the tensioner bearing? Cheers
  3. Hi Could someone please Fast 6U9000ECR33031912 Thanks! Richard
  4. I usually get just over 400kms to a tank (12l/100km) and I have a R33 GTST with just an exhaust and pod filter
  5. Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldnt that let the boost rise uncontrollably? ie. unhooking actuator rod means wastegate stays closed???
  6. Does the S14/S15 have a ceramic turbo like the Skylines?
  7. Just cos I got a faulty one don't mean sh!t but when numerous people get faulty ones it definately means something. Do a search on Google and you will find heaps of complaints about Autometer. Go into any performance workshop and they will tell you Autometer are sh!t.
  8. I reckon the GTR looks too bulky (like most of the new Jap cars at the moment), at least the Ferrari has some sleekness to it. I like how the rear guards on the Ferarri slope in towards the mid section of the car making it look more muscular, whereas the GTR just looks overweight (just my opinion though..)
  9. I agree with Wheezy, Autometer are crap. I have an Autometer Sportcomp and it doesnt sit on zero when my car is turned off. Ive contacted Autometer through their website and they've told me that it is out of calibration (NOT due to atmospheric pressure or vacuum left in the engine). Also if you search on google you will find numerous complaints about Autometer guages. Ive ordered a Defi guage to replace it but im still waiting to receive it. Just a heads up- do not order from Istoreparts.com, they are a bunch of wankers. Once they have your money they are extremely hard to contact and three months after sending my payment im yet to see my guage.
  10. K&N are supposed to be pretty good in terms of filtration. Theres an air filter review in this months Autosalon magazine. Ive got a Green Cotton pod which is pretty similar to a K&N, theres a website somewhere that compares Green Cotton to K&N (Green Cotton is supposedly better...).
  11. Mine hasnt got one either! I tried looking for a replacement bulb but I couldnt find one small enough to fit.
  12. Hey thanks for the replies! Ive gotten a quote for $460 to change the timing belt, idler and tensioner, water pump, crank and cam seals (just for labour). Ive been told by a friendly SAU member that the crank seal is hard to get to and apparently you almost always destroy the lower timing gear/pulley in the process. So looks like that one mechanic wasnt pulling my leg! Funny how the other workshops didnt think much of it... Maybe they were gonna just charge me for the labour and not even replace the crank seal...
  13. Hey does anyone know if it is really necessary to change the cam and crank seals when you change the timing belt? I read a few posts on here that suggest its worth doing at the same time however all the workshops i have rang up reckon not to bother replacing them unless theyre leaking. Also one mechanic reckons its a fairly tedious job to replace the seals and quoted me an additional $220 in labour on top of the labour to change the timing belt! Is this true? I have a feeling he is pulling my leg. Should I not bother replacing the seals? Thanks!
  14. Hey is the stock turbo on the R33 GTST plain bearing or Ball bearing? Ive done a search too! Thanks
  15. Regarding Type M front bar - http://car-import.blogspot.com/
  16. yeah thats what i reckon, i believe the r33 gtst coupe came out from factory with a number of bodykit options, including the "Type-m/Mspec" front bar. Where did you get the information that only sedans were fitted with the non "Type-m" bar?
  17. Are you 100% sure that it is the sedan front bar? I dont think this is true. Then what about the side skirts and rear pods? And ive also seen pics from old Nissan advertisements of the coupes with this front bar. Also a number of websites claim that the R33 GTST came out with a number of bodykits, lights etc. Its just like how ppl reckon only 95 onwards came with drivers airbag, however mine is a 94 and has an airbag. And Im NOT saying that all turbo r33's arent type m
  18. Hey does the PowerFC give you much gains with stock boost, exhaust and filter?
  19. You can buy a replica from here- http://www.carmate.com/product_details.php...B&p_id=7637
  20. I was looking to do this on my r33 but i cant find a secondhand "M-Spec" (haha just to annoy Manwhore) front bar in good condition and reasonable price in WA. Carmate sells a replica on their website though. Pretty sure you dont have to change the headlights
  21. yeah Mspec Type-M, you know what i mean. All Im trying to say is that when ppl refer to a Mspec/Type M they are talking about the Series 1 that came with the different bumper and sideskirts.
  22. Hey is it true that you can get defected for having the green el Skyline? I read somewhere that you can only have white, red and amber lights??? Cos I want one of these but dont want another yellow sticker
  23. R33S2 - I think he is referring to getting his S1 to look like a R33 S1 with the Mspec bumper and side skirts. Not a Series 2. I know ppl say all R33's are Type M but a lot of car dealers/importers refer to a Series 1 M-spec as the version that came with the sideskirts and different front bar from factory
  24. Dont whinge about me whinging
