pump fuel 330rwkw, race fuel 380rwkw from memory then it dropped a ringland, not bad when all it had is a heap of bolt ons to a completely standard RB25 engine

Proposed Street Car/Street Tyre Class
BU5TER replied to 2rismo's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
No one will answer the question of whats wrong with Sports RWD?? I think if we can answer that question we will find the changes needed to make that class what we'd like, Jason has already posted that the SPORT RWD class is already there for us so rather then talking about a new class we should be talking about a few changes to the current class that will better suit us I'll start 1. I don't see why we have to keep OEM fuel tank 2. RWD and AWD should be seperated into 2 sub classes of that class ie Sports RWD and Sports AWD 3. If enough interest is shown a Radial tyre section should also be provided -
Proposed Street Car/Street Tyre Class

I was looking at it from the point of view of a owner with a modded car and my opinion was its very hard for the dead stock car in a street class to race competitively (heads up) with some of the modded off their tits street cars I've seen at DC and Jamboree, shit its even hard for a modded car to race competitively hahaha I just think that everyone's opinion of street car is so different and all I meant is even though you may race the 8thsins etc at the end of the day the true street cars will never really be competitive unless the rules are made so the highly modded cars aren't allowed to race in that class but then how is that fair aswell, I was trying to look at it from each point of view sorry if it didn't come across like that -

ROFL Robo I should point out Adrian and myself are good mates, we may not agree on everything and definitely look at things differently but at the end of the day we can both have an opinion and not agree, it doesn't mean one is right and one is wrong it just means we have different opinions -

Piss off Adrian your taking one part of what I'm saying and quoting it out of context if you want to play the quote and answer game at least do it with the whole paragraph So what your saying is the racer that takes his or her street car once a month to the drags is as serious a racer as some one like me who will have spent $50k on their car in the aim to lower my times, they both may be serious about it but one is committed to it and the other looks at it as a bit of fun, I don't think of racing as a bit of fun to me its a lifestyle which I choose to excel at no matter what the sacrifices or costs may be -

Adrian I'm only being honest, whats really stopping those people from racing in Sports RWD or DYO? I can see 8thsin, Dom's orange Z and that gold Supra all running in a class like this as they are street cars and it will be dominated by 10 to low 11 second cars, which really wont be competitive for Street cars unless the rules were made to be that harsh that it would end up not allowing cars in like theirs, yours that uses Nitrous or mine that uses a bigger turbo Its really a no win situation for the basic street car that is in true street trim as there will always be bigger cars that take drag racing more serious and want the lower times so mod their street cars accordingly but on the other side of the coin why should those people be penalised for it -

I still think at best ANDRA will seperate the RWD and AWD part of Sport Mod class as honestly if you want to race in street trim in a street car go to a off street meet, they are on every Wednesday now at WSID -
Sorry I was talking about the big car his uncles got that will be out soon, he mentions it in post 4
-
hahaha I guess we're talking about Lukes engine that he pulled out of which was in the white R32 GTR which is now going into Donnies old blue R33 GTR with standard box?? mate its only got a T78 its not that big a turbo

Proposed Street Car/Street Tyre Class
BU5TER replied to 2rismo's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
I asked about a radial tyres class back in March when I noticed BF Goodrich are one of the major sponsors at such events as Drag Combat and Jamboree but there wasn't really a class aimed at there product here's what Jason repled Sent: Monday, March 01, 2004 4:29 PM Subject: Hello from ANDRA Sport Compact Dear Brett, Ray Box from Jamboree Promotions has forwarded your enquiry on to me, and I'm more than happy to fill you in on the future developments within the current ANDRA Sport Compact class structure. Currently we are running with a set of classes and rules very similar to the NHRA system in the States, but being good old fashioned Aussies, we will have to eventually change them to suit our local racing community. I'm a firm believer in developing a 'street tyre-untubbed' class to cater for the rise in popularity of that type of vehicle in the Sport Compact industry here in Australia. Yes BFGoodrich is sponsoring quite a few events, and YES we are working with them and other tyre manufacturers in developing a specific 'no slicks allowed' street tyre racing class. Currently we have Sport FWD and Sport RWD (which includes 4WD vehicles), and I will personally be submitting class/rule changes to introduce a separate Sport 4WD class, and a blanket ban on non DOT tyres and slicks for those classes. I think this will keep the racing affordable, interesting and very street orientated. Not everyone wants to tub their car, and not everyone wants to run slicks. It's my duty as ANDRA Sport Compact Director to look after what the racers want, so hence the future development of these ideas. Just quickly, re-check the rules regarding Sport RWD/AWD as my current copy states... 'All tyres must be DOT approved. Retreads, Space saver spares, or any other non-DOT approved tyres prohibited' - ANDRA Sport Compact rules 01/03/2004 The rules you should always go by are on the ANDRA website at www.andra.com.au I always recommend that if you have a query, contact us so you get the right information first time. Ok well that's it for now, if your at the Jamboree in March at WSID, come up and say G'Day. Oh and if your racing.......good luck! Proposed Street Car/Street Tyre Class
BU5TER replied to 2rismo's topic in Motorsport Discussion & Builds
hahaha don't worry I'll probably cop the same sh*t The way I look at it is, slicks and nitrous are both tools used to get quicker times, they are both illegal on the street and if this is a true street class neither have a place in it, also with the Sports RWD class being so similar if there aren't a lot of changes made like this I can't really see Andra starting another class -

mmm true and if we're talking "STREET CAR" I guess it might be fair to say if slicks aren't allowed the same should go with Nitrous as neither are legal on the street Maybe keep things to one power adder only, nice and simple
