  1. I'm living in Malaysia and because of the insane road tax pricing for cars above 2.0cc (RM479 for 2.0, RM789 for 2.5cc, RM1000++ for 2.6cc per year) we usually just use RB20det because of the almost affordable road tax, therefore there's lots of RB20det with more than 500hp at the rear wheels, most of them go for the T88 or GT3037 or T04S turbo with standalone ECU with tons of aftermarket parts, achieving high HP is very easy but the problem is, u don't get good response from the turbo (turbo lag), the HP starts climbing after 4500rpm (because the biggest problem with RB20det is the lack of torque), therefore it's just for a moment of fun between 5000rpm until redline. I'll prefer good response with a smaller ball-bearing turbo producing just over 300rwhp (turbo spool from 2500rpm onwards), it's more drivable and more fun when your tail starts to slide. plus the FC isn't so bad. One of my mechanics (who drives a Cefiro A31 with RB20det) has more than 700rwhp using 1000cc injectors and power FC, spent almost RM100,000 on mods alone..........but the car can't be driven everyday because it'll destroy the tires whenever he starts driving........ Sorry i couldn't provide any dyno charts or any proof for this, but anyone who's into RB engines know this is a fact in Malaysia.
  2. the sound of NA straight six is just amazing, I'm driving a turbo RB20 'cause we seldom come across any kind of NA version of the RB engine here, if they import it in, it sure cost 2 or 3 times more than the turbo one
  3. 1992 A31 Cefiro with RB20det (200,000km mileage) Stock engine internals RB25 turbo GTR fuel pump MINE'S ECU SAFC 1 FMIC dump pipe Apexi open pod filter 2.5 inch front to mid piping 3 inch at the back end with HKS super dragger exhaust using bleed valve to control the boost, boosting 1.05 bar 182KW / 244HP on wheels
  4. well, there are plenty of mechanics who knows how to mod RB engines from top to bottom, if u just ask them..... and u have to have an idea how many whp do u want from that engine of yours, that will give us a rough idea what things u need and how much $$ u will have to spend I'm driving a Cefiro with a RB20det, so maybe i can help u out, and i live in Malaysia also (KL)
  5. holy shit!!! if I want one set of the 550cc injectors it would cost me $1188!!!
  6. the champion of D1 in Malaysia drives a Ceffy with SR20 inside
  7. Usually it's the AFM, get it out and spray it with WD40 (those lubricant that u use to loosen stuck screws), spray at the middle part of the AFM which is like a little door hanging with two thin lines, and make sure you wipe the nets (exterior) clean. plug it in and test your car, if still stall try changing with your friend's AFM (must be same engine, you should know this right?) and test your car again, if it doesn't stall that means you must get a new one. If it's not the AFM, check your ECU (exchange with friend's and see). If it's not either of these, check your fuel pump
  8. here's the link...http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=2547 and just to inform you, because of government regulations, doing a transplant of engine of different car brand (like toyota engine into Ceffy) is not permitted in Malaysia. Is the limiter of BMW cars really set to 250kmph? no wonder when I was chasing that M5, it only tops 250kmph, won't go faster anymore....and just to let u guys know, the road condition is not that good here, even on a highway, doing 300kmph would be suicide...even with a full anti-roll cage, best suspensions and great tires.
  9. Hi guys, I'm from Malaysia and in our forum, we have a hot topic about this...anyone of you guys tried it before? The question arises when an A31 was smoked by an M3 on a Malaysian highway on top speed, and because of the car age, the chasis is a big issue whether or not it will support up to 300kmph of G-force, even if the car has a full anti-rollcage and strenghtening bars in it.... currently the vote is 90% of the Ceffy owners saying it was impossible to chase down an M3, M5 is of course out of the question... I'm with the remaining 10%, 'cause I've tried it before...what do you guys think, pls share your ideas, comments and experiences here, thanks in advance!!!
  10. "I have also seen a 2510 make 180kw on a rb20 on 1bar of boost so i figure with 1.2 - 1.3 bar of boost i should make it. " I'm making 180kw from an RB25 turbine on 1.05 bar of boost already....just letting you know this, no offence
  11. boostED82, how much boost you r running? I'm running similar setup but without power FC, xtreme 2500 clutch kit, hd coilovers and sard fpreg (what's this anyway?)....with 1.05 bar of boost, only 244 rwhp.....
  12. wow! that is one good looking ceffy!!! I like the Rims better
  13. mine also almost the same, need to check it with another gauge
  14. RB24det has more torque and power band is larger than a standard RB25det...that means if RB24det is tuned good enough, it will eat standard 25s for lunch!!! No offence guys...
