  1. Yeh, heaps of people were out last Firday night. Not many Skylines, they are still outnumbered by Silvia's . I did get a pic of the RX7.
  2. Buy a R34 GTR
  3. Faulty valve or torn diaphragm?
  4. Just wondering if anyone from Canberra is going to Texi next weekend in Sydney? I want to take photos but I don't have spare money to get there and need a lift.
  5. I have a similar trip in the works, was asked to go this weekend but not enough notice for work. I'll most likely be travelling at a different time of day . And, Japan is great for driving. Looking forward to my upcoming trip .
  6. Yeh, i'll come out a little after 9:30...
  7. Hmmm... wasn't planning to, see what happens.
  8. Rain wasn't too bad tonight. We did try and run to DFO but turns out the car park closes. I'm keen to look for some undercover places for those rainy days.
  9. I wonder what they are doing for 5 hours. It would only take me 1 hour if I had a workshop, because I would be setup to change Nissan RWD gearboxes (the only thing I currently own). I've done it many times that I know what to do. I would be pushing it to do a 1 hour change on dirt. It would be closer to 3 hours if i had to get it done.
  10. Yeh, we'll be there after dinner.
  11. Kat, are you running a push or pull clutch? I heard pull clutches are more difficult to change (I've never done one before). Also I would imagine the 4WD would confuse most workshops .
  12. Hmm, I would expect the quote to be around $800. It should take a workshop around 3 hours to change a clutch (if I had a workshop it would only take 1 hour). So that'll be 3 hours x $120 (I think that's what they charge these days), so $360 for labour. An excedy HD clutch kit at trade would be around $300-$350 and $70 to have the flywheel machine. Add $20 for oil, which should total around $750-$800. Anyway, PM me your number, if I'm close by Weston I'll ring you and take a look. And most of my work is done on dirt. I use a few bricks and wooden planks, ramps, etc. All but one of my engine swaps were completed on dirt.
  13. Doesn't look factory because it's one piece.
  14. Lol, I could probably do it for half that, but doesn't come with warranty (I'm not a workshop). I just done a gearbox in my car this week. I wouldn't say it's that difficult unless your doing it by yourself. Having a second person does make it so much quicker and easier but I've done it solo a few times.
  15. I might be able to take a look on Saturday/Sunday. BTW, RB20/25/30 clutches are all the same (except maybe the 30ET). I don't know why manufacturers list different part numbers. You would most likely only want a organic face, I don't think they come in a puck configuration. I'm sure I heard ceramic faces should avoid slipping or they will be not useable and can not be recovered. Troy is right, if the clutch is in good condition, why waste money buying another clutch. Just buy another bearing, if the mechanics say you need a new one (after inspection) you can get exceedy kits locally and they should be able to get trade price.
  16. Which side of Canberra do you live on?
  17. Was a pretty big turn out at the end of last night. I think about 11 cars ended up passing through.
  18. I'll be there just a bit after 9:30
  19. I have a friend who will be interested, will be in touch
  20. Yeh, try Specialty Fastners, they have a very wide range of bits. However I bought my exhaust manifold studs from Pro-EX, just next to Powatone. If you can take a spare, they'll be able to match it. I'm sure someone should have studs from an old turbo, otherwise you can use just use bolts, it's just more fiddly than studs.
  21. Hmmm... I could buy it and part it out. It's manual right? 10k for a R34 GTT wreck is a lot, I doubt they would have been sold at that price.
  22. Whoops, I must have been half asleep when I wrote that post. Check to see if there is any oil around the coil packs, either from a bad cam cover gasket or something else. If there is oil, or even water it can cause the spark to jump away from the plug. You'll see sparks from the coils earthing out to what ever they are earthing too. It is a common problem with coilpacks.
  23. Oil? Is the coilpack insulator degraded? Any loose conductive objects around? A way to test is to run the car at night or in a dark garage, have a look at the coil packs and see if you can see it earthing out.
