Wakefield Speed Off The Streets
StinkyPoo replied to Manuel Kasko's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Skid pan is fun and close. Not excellent value for money but there isn't really anything else to do in Canberra. The hill climb is really not good value for money at all. I would recommend a speed off the streets day or going to Marulan over the hill climb. You will learn so much more and there only seems to be competition days for Hill Climb. The distance of Wakefield and Marulan really isn't that far. Although I've traveled thousands of kilometers to go to a track, so Wakefield feels really close. I've never seen a novice ever break their car and need to have it towed back to Canberra. Out of the trips I've done to Wakefield (20-30), I've only needed a tow on two occasions for the same reasons, due to my way of driving (heavy on the clutch/driveline, I don't lift completely off accelerator). The Skid pan is a fun day out but it isn't issue free or any less strain, just different. Because of the high revs and low speed, the car heats up quickly. The new piece of concrete is really bad on tyres, worse than at a Race track. -
Sent you a PM RE: boost controller.

If your car breaks at a day like this, it would break from everyday driving. -
Best First Car For A 17Yr Old Male In Canberra...
StinkyPoo replied to Got a Pulsar's topic in Australian Capital Territory
S14, cheaper but S15's aren't expensive these days either. Good steering lock, good power, cheap parts, Australian delievered. Cheap car. Evo's are horrible daily drives, steering lock is so shit. Interior doesn't reflect the price tag. R32 GTR's are old. RB26 parts cost a little more and more mechanical parts for more failures. As cool as they are, I don't think it's a good beginner car. -

It's really not as serious as you guys seem to put it on this thread. It's pretty much arrive and drive as long as your car is roadworthy. You don't need to pay for a pit at Wakefield for a normal day, unless you get a pit garage. You don't need special fuel unless your car runs special fuel, in which case you'll probably know about it already. I've never seen anyone purchase fuel at Wakefield. Use normal fuel. Just imagine it as driving on the road but faster. It's nothing special except no speed limit. -
Wakefield Speed Off The Streets

Shouldn't, just need to be older than 12, parents to sign off and some ability to drive. It's not a race, so you won't be racing. -
Mgcc Motorkhana At Sutton Road - 17 November 2013
StinkyPoo replied to StinkyPoo's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Not to late to enter. It's really short at the moment, need another 15 entrants. -
Hi Guys, Numbers are really low for the event, which could lead to the series being canceled entirely. If you are able, please enter to keep one of the only motorsport events we have in Canberra. Please print the form, fill it out and bring it with you. You will need a CAMS licence and be a member of a CAMS affiliated club such as SAU NSW. Big Cheer! *************************************** The MG Car Club of Canberra will be holding round 1 of their regular Motorkhana series at the Sutton Road Driver Training complex Sunday, 17 November 2013. For those that don't know, Motorkhana is a timed event normally held on a large flat surface, like a carpark, with a number of cones defining parts of the circuit. At the start of the day, drivers are given a several maps and need to drive as fast as they can through the designated course. The quickest way around the course is to be smooth and retain the most amount of traction but some people do decide to slide around the track. It's not the quickest but definitely a fun to do it and a good show to watch. The organisors do not mind if you do this as long as you stay to the course and stay in control of your car. This is probably the closest thing to legal drifting that Canberra has available. Contact the MGCC Sporting Secretary if your interesting in competing - http://mgcccanberra.org.au/?page_id=83 Passengers are allowed but you will need to fill out a indemnity form on the day.27248E.doc

Send them to my email: eiji.wakamatsu(at)hotmail.com I haven't had any message, so I'm just gathering photos that I've taken/will take and create an "import" (???) calendar. It won't be SAU ACT thing.

Rosie Goes Through Dickson - Results Inside.
StinkyPoo replied to RosieR34's topic in Australian Capital Territory
This is incorrect. Not sure who made this up, could even be a NSW rule but it does not apply in ACT and shouldn't in Australia either for Skylines. Skylines (R32-R34) had factory fitted front mount intercoolers (GTR model) so it is not a modification, just a replacement part. -
Marques In The Park - Sunday 10 November, 2013
StinkyPoo replied to StinkyPoo's topic in Australian Capital Territory
lol, I never said I was going. I'll organise something else for you . -
Did you buy my old R32?
-
Nope ......

Is the hoist still available? I would like to get a few more details. I recently put a 3 phase inverter in my shed for my tyre machine. It wasn't that difficult but the price range for them is huge! I've been told you get what you pay for haha.

StinkyPoo replied to StinkyPoo's topic in Australian Capital Territory
I won't be there this year. I'll be at Wakefield. -
Marques in the Park is the spring time motoring display for the Council of ACT Motor Clubs and remember this event is for everybody: • Young and Old, People and Cars • Bog stock to Hot Rod • Primers to Candies • Street Cars to Street Machines • Rusty to Restored • Street hacks to Show Cars • Push bikes to Drag cars • Vintage Caravans to transporters

A cop used to live down the road from me a few years ago. He brought a XR6 Turbo and I had a quick look over it. Pretty much appeared standard except it was chipped by Unichip. It did seem the springs looked a little different but it could have been from the extra weight of the car (if any).

Buy new discs. Better than machining. In most cases it's similar to retreads for brake discs.
-
Maybe a piston retractor but I use a screw driver and multigrips.
-
If I can get a car trailer, I'll bring my R32. I'm interested to see how much "Power" my car makes.

Rob contacted me a little while ago to start organising a 2014 calendar. I was busy preparing for World Time Attack/Drift Challenge so I wasn't too free to help with the preparations. Now that the event has been completed, we can start doing something about this calendar. I am happy to organise the printing a similar calendar like this year, however I haven't been (and there also hasn't been) to many events locally. So my plan is: - If you are interested in contributing a photo(s) to the calendar, please let me know. Photos may need to be cropped to fit the calendar. You will need to have taken the photos and not just downloaded from the internet. By sending me the photos, you will need to give me rights to give the publisher rights to print them. - Contact me to arrange to take some photos of your car. If you have a prefer location, we can start with that. - We may organise another get together to take some photos. Give me feed back about this if you like but no polls, date changes, etc.

Yep, so that's sort of the route I took. If you want to sell your low comp motor, let me know .
