when it gets low compression, or has a fair bit of leakage.
leaving a car idling is not ideal either, the fuel isn't burnt correctly, and runs down the side of the bore, washing off the oil with it, and contaminating the oil.
buy a 31, all the cool kids are doing it
buy a car with basic mods, a lot come with exhaust, cooler, coilovers, etc.. save yourself a few bucks, and you can still do the rest yourself.
isn't it 20% increase in power/weight? not actual capacity? at least that's what i interpreted from that document.
unfortunately i'm going from a red top rb20 as well, so the starting figure is even lower... 180hp to *cough* 250hp...
i vaguely remember someone posting a few PDF's in regards to mods before.. and i cant find them on here, or on the DPI website.
i'm basically interested in the engine conversion part of it, and going from a RB20 to a 25.
no thermostat will cause hot pockets in the engine too.
did you get the radiator checked? it might be partially blocked, so it will do a good enough job on average temp days, but a hot day it cant cool enough.
if it's going to take a few months to save up for a upgraded turbo, then it's probably not such a good idea.
the reason for upgrading usually would be more power, which in turn can cause more things to break...
get another good condition stocker on there, run 10psi, and you'll be fine.
tomei's do a 2.8L stroker for the 25 i beleive... i'm not 100% sure, but 26 crank/rods/pistons fit in a 25 block, so i imagine they would all work.. however you are much better off starting with a 26 (as most people do, thus the lack of stroked 25's)
and brad's is stock... JUN 2.7L stroker with T04Z from factory
i wouldn't bother with the Q45 throttle body.. stock one will flow a lot more than 206kw
did you drop the exhaust to find out the cat was restricting 10 more kw?
