i've got an odd miss fire... i've got a HR31 with an rb25, rb25 loom, powerfc and z32 afm. over the past few days the missing has gotten worse, it happens more often in low rpm/cruising speeds (~2-3000rpm in third/fourth) but then if i drop back a gear or too and accelerate, 99% of the time its fine (might have the odd miss here or there) but it sounds like its running on 5 cylinders. i've tried new plugs gapped to 0.8mm, still missed, so i took them out, cleaned them and gapped them to 0.6mm, still exactly the same. after that i took out the AFM, it looked a little bit oily so i sprayed it with some wax and grease remover. i also wrapped the coils with electrical tape, and put on a new air filter. it seemed to get a little bit better after that, but is still there. should i clean the AFM with something else? i have a set of RB26 coils here i'm going to try, but being a low rpm miss i'm not too confident.

when my 33 got written off 2 years ago (rear ended), i got offered to buy the wreck back for 4k, it had a fresh engine, and lots of suspension mods so i bought it back. sold engine and box for $4k, then made another 4-5k on the rest of the car

i think i need a pair of mufflers on the 31.. picked it up today and it's rather loud.. 3" system with a fair few bends and cannon only.

cost me $4k to buy my wrecked 33 back off my insurance company, had a lot of few mods though.

it had a largish middle muffler, and a 4" inlet, 4.5" tip cannon on it, it was also very straight too (no gay angle mounted cannon), when the car got rear ended, the exhaust still stuck out due to no bends to kink on... it was a few years ago when it was tested, but i think they tested it at 4,500rpm, and it passed. it did get a bit louder higher up, but normal driving wasn't loud and droning at all.

i had a system on my 33 that went 3", 3.5", 4" then a 4.5" tip and it was legal.

picked it up today... ...18psi is fun!

unless it came from the factory called a GTR, then no i wouldn't consider it to be one. even a gts-t with 26, full gtr running gear etc, i wouldnt consider a true gtr, it's all in the VIN. much the same as the phase III's, etc. only fetch big bucks if they are genuine, not replica's. that said, you can do what you like, it's your car!

a neo engine (or any rb25 with VCT for that matter) is nothing like v-tech, they have variable timing, but not variable cam lobes.

indeed, you'd have fun mating the stagea and 34 front guards together, don't think it would be a simple cut and attach job. that's the reason they go fibreglass, a lot easier to get the required shape and style. not a fan of the bayside blue either.. i liked the yellow one (mental blank, cant remember who's it was)

yes, they are the same stud pattern/PCD i had 18x8 +35's on my legnum, and they sat flush with the guards.. evo's can go a bit wider. i'm not sure what the magna is like, but i cant see it fitting much bigger wheels than a leggy/evo.
