  1. What do you mean it leaked under boost? How can you tell?
  2. Crawled underneath my car to see where the drops of liquid is coming from. I have 2 issues. 1. There is a coolant leak somewhere between the engine and the transmission. I have no idea where this is coming from. It seems very slow. Is it possible that the coolant is leaking between the transmission and the engine?? (idk if that's a dumb question). Its only on the drivers side. the passenger side is clean. Last year i did a complete coolant hose overhaul and replaced everything with silicon tubes. 2. I noticed that the boot on my power steering rods are torn. Is the grease underneath the car just from the boot being torn? or is the power steering leaking itself? Is it supposed to be greased and lubed up inside the boot?
  3. Got it. Will be tackling this when it gets cooler. Currently 97 degrees in south carolina.
  4. 1. When and where do i stop peeling back the current coating? Do i remove an entire section? because the wheel well is connected to the underbody and the coating spans the entire bottom side of the car. 2. After i clean the rust area with wire-wheel, how do i prep and reseal the surface? Since the current coating peels in irregular shapes, would i just spray over the existing coating to blend it in? (Not sure if that makes sense. For example, if I'm painting a house, each room is sectioned off so its easy to tell where and when to stop. But in this car, the wheel well, is part of the frame and goes to the underside)
  5. Try to impact the handle of the ratchet with a rubber mallet. It acts like an impact gun. I find it works better than using a longer lever.
  6. Hey, not sure if you are still active on here, but I am chasing the same leak. Its a slow drip from the bell housing. Can't figure out where its coming from. Did it end up being the rear main seal?
  7. Thank you. i was scratching my head. what broke was actually the level by the driver side. the cable snapped there.
  8. I opened the panel in the boot, but theres another metal panel covering the gas lid access, so i cant reach it.
  9. Does the clearance i have make a difference? I'm trying to logically understand it, but if the tire dosen't have that much room to travel up and down, the shocks/springs has to be stiff to prevent it from going through the fender dosent it? If i want a softer ride, does it mean i go up higher? or is it possible to keep the car lowered but have it ride good.
  10. I know what you're talking about. I installed a set of bilsteins front shocks on my F-150 truck. I was so surprised when i read the instructions that the tiny circlip could support the weight of my 5000-6000lb pick up truck.
  11. Are you getting rid of the gary's because the MCA Golds are better? @Komdotkom
  12. Alright.. thanks guys. Hate to see it.
  13. @Duncan how are you liking the bilsteins?
  14. What coilovers are you guys running?
  15. interesting, i never thought about re-furbishing the old ones. Would i have to purchase new springs? and do you have your car lowered?
  16. thanks for this explanation, im learning so much about this car. Just when i feel like i figured something out, theres a another part on the car that i need to upgrade lol
  17. Thanks, i will check it out tomorrow. What happened to your BOV recirc pipe? Do you really need it? i might be able to pack it up for you.
  18. Are you guys running pillow ball mount or rubber bushing mount?
  19. Also, are these considered "coil-overs"?
  20. Ah intersting, i didn't think that these were common. When you say strut top, do you mean the area where the strut connects to the strut tower in the engine bay? And what do you mean "recondition" the ohlins? Is there an affordable way to get the car to ride better?
  21. My current coilovers ride like shit and i get rattled all over the place. the Ohlins are so expensive though at $3000.
  22. How many hours of work did it take you to get to that point? And how do you get the car to the paint shop like this?
  23. I did some research on this a while back. Dynamat, kilmat, or any type of rubber deadener is only meant to prevent vibrations. It can be used as a sound proofer but theoretically, it wont prevent sound transmission. So you want the first layer with dynamat, then another foam type insulation on top of that to provide the best sound isolation.
