  1. Poyz - my terminal speed when I ran a 13.1 was 105mph Ula32 - Get yourself some front pipes and a cat to suit, that should make a difference, also are you runing standard computer or Power FC??
  2. poyz - My car ran a 13.1 when I first got it (completely standard) but it was in 30 degree heat, not ideal drag conditions. As far as launcing on the rev limiter, this causes too much wheelspin even though its 4wd, and slightly reduces the time. I know coz I've tried it. You have to find the right amount of revs where its enough to sling shot off the line and not bog down. Depending on the grip of the start line, I found that between 5500 and 6000 rpm was as good as perfect on the night. Another major factor why its not good to launch it on the limiter is that the standard clutch is not really up for it. Several launche like these results in a new clutch. With a good twin plate clutch and some drag slicks, then yes you could probably launch it on the limiter....
  3. Yeah Ula32, didn't expect to be that quick. Tyres are Bridgestone G'Grids 265/35/18 (all round), not sure what psi they had in them??? Take offs were a bit inconsistent, especially the last two runs, the (standard) clutch was slipping quite a bit. Found that launching it at 5500 rpm was the best, as the start line was very grippy. Also perfect conditions for drag racing..... 60 ft time was 1.850, 660 ft was 7.963 @ 88.44mph and ET 12.391 @ 107.53mph. Haven't got a scanner to post time slip... U got similar mods yeh???
  4. My R33 Gts25t had 155rwkws and managed a 14.2 out of it. Got a flat 15 on the first run though.....
  5. Its all about experience and practice. I bet if you had another run you would have got a high 14.
  6. Yeah the other guys said you were there but didn't even see your car!!! What time were you there till???
  7. Great night guys, good to see predator, R31Nismoid, phat32 and Al having fun on the strip. Jet-33 you p***y you should have had a go, no traction - EXCUSES!!!! Practice makes perfect!!. Good to see predator dip into a 13, he must be happy with that. Anyway after a few crappy runs, the best time achieved was 12.3 @ 107mph. Quite happy with that considering the mods I've got (full exhaust, pod filters, adj cam gears and 12psi boost). Clutch was slipping like f**k on the last run so nismo twin plate is going in next week. Pity we didn't get to see more of you guys out there having a bit of fun....
  8. Revhead, I see what you are getting at, but from what I've experienced in the last week, tells me that there is a difference with taking out the restrictor. Just to clarify, my full exhaust and pod filters were installed months ago, therefore they wouldn't have increased the power from 185rwks to 215rwkws. Once I took the restrictor out, the dyno showed 200rwkws (boosting to 13.5 psi, but holding 12.7psi). Therefore an increase of 15 rwkws. Another 15rwkws were extracted from dialing in the cams. Also my mate took out his restrictor in his R32 GTR and reckons the car boosts much harder, and an increasing in performance. We're not talking 'mind blowing' difference, but its definetly there. As far as technical explanation goes, I can't help you there but I definetly experienced a difference.... Hope that clears things up.
  9. Forgot to mention you'll also need adj. cam gears to get the 240-250 rwkws......
  10. Similar to what I'm going for, with that setup you should be pumping out around 240-250 rwkws, 330kw+ @ flywheel. I agree with sydneykid, don't change cooler, better spend that money on a twin plate clutch, standard one won't last with that sort of power and hard launches. I'm going for nismo twin plate, from what I've heard they're not harsh on the left leg. Also expect a mid to low 12 with that sort of power on the 1/4. Hope that gives you a fair idea. Cheers
  11. Hey guys, the point that needs to be acknowledged in this discussion is that it only applies to the GTR. For people who think that it does not increase power, your wrong. Last week I was told by my tuner/mechanic who specialises in GTR's said that he was surprised that I still had the restrictor in, apperantly it's the first thing you do when buying a GTR (remove restrictor), and it DOES NOT harm your engine or turbo. Anyway I had my car tuned on the dyno and it went from 185 rwkws (stock boost) to 215 rwkws with taking out restrictor and installing adjustable cam gears/dialing in cams. Boost increased to 13.5 psi, but only held 12.7 psi through high revs. However Powewr FC with boost solenoid and hand controller are going in in the next few weeks, to increase boost to 1.1 bar (apprx 16psi) and lean out the fuel (was running 10.8 a/f ratio). Power should increase to 240-250 rwkws. Therefore by taking out restrictor it increased boost from approx. 9 psi to 13 psi. Definetly a power increase there. Just thought I'd shine some light into the discussion. P.S Other mods incl full exhaust (3'' high flow cat), Apexi pod filter kit, oil catch can.
  12. Go the GTR, the GTT will never drive the same as the GTR, even if they have the same power. Also in a couple of years the GTT will be like all the gts25t's around now. Do you see heaps of r32 GTR's on the roads???
  13. Hi chopobo, you spoke to me last night about towing your car. Sorry to hear what's happenend but as most people said, it could have been much worse. That price I quoted you last night was taking into consideration it was after business hours (about 7pm), and also the distance (Reservoir to Springvale). I know the importer personally and I'm sure he will fix your car for nothing, it was just unfortunate. Hope you get it fixed by tonight so we can see you there!!!! Cheers
  14. What are split pulse dumps? Got a pic? Do Apexi, HKS etc. make them???
  15. Just a quick question, I'm soon getting adjustable cam gears and raising the boost to 1 bar to my otherwise stock R33 GTR (except full exhaust and pod filters). Just wondering whether a larger intercooler will be a worthwhile upgrade or is the standard one good enough for the 1 bar boost on stock turbos. Maybe due to the decreased air temps can you run a little more boost (with bigger cooler) or is 1 bar the limit on these turbos. I have sourced one for a very good price so I'm debating whether to buy it or spend my money on other mods. The intercooler is a Trust 600x300x100 (4 inch core thickness) and is around the 1k mark for those wondering. Any suggestions.......
  16. Yeah it was awesome just cruising the twisties with all the the stove tops lined up, and especially cruising back to Melbourne through the ottways was awesome, can't wait for the next cruise. Yeah guys, those with digi cams should post some pics of the day.
  17. It's definetly non turbo, it has the four wheel stud pattern!!!!!
  18. Nice wheels, got the same ones on my GTR R33 (18x9.5).
  19. Personally I'd go for the branded ones. They are a straight bolt on and have been designed for maximum flow. Even chase up a second hand one, you may even get away with $500 for a cat back system!!! My cat back exhaust cost me $500 and it's an Apexi Dual N1 item. If your not in a hurry, just look around in forums, you're bound to come across a good cat back system!!!
  20. Nismo 34, are you talking about my car or Leewah's??? As far as I know Leewah's is midnight purple, and mine is silver. And yes I was in the Oakleigh area last night, but my car does not have any stripes on the side..... must be another one.
  21. Cool, has the time and date been set for it yet?
  22. If Leewah can't make it, and you need another R33 GTR for the shoot, u can use mine.
  23. How about the boulevard in Kew, has a nice spot on top of the hill where you can see the city buildings??? Good for a fang around the bends too, after all we're dealing with GTRs!!!!
  24. nick: Jagga name: Jack location: Abbotsford car: 95 GTR email:[email protected] ICQ: n/a Here's a pic of my baby
  25. Here's my ride, stock as a rock except for wheels and suspension.
