  1. Well I have a white 4 door R32 GTS-T if thats any concession....
  2. A hammer can be your best friend...
  3. Yeah for the money spent on them, could be better spent elsewhere. Also you would be surprised how much of a difference the right choice of brake pads and brake fluid would make on the stock braking system.
  4. Didn't Dick Johnson go and race NASCARS in the US for a while, a while back?
  5. Yeah it looks a bit weird. Depends on how it looks I may get it repainted. Does it look ok in your opinon or would it look better being the same color as the rest of the car?
  6. Cheers dude. Few thats a bit of a relief though, thought that the rear bumper was different but couldnt tell from the shadows. It is so bloody frustrating to wait for a car, don't know how you regular importers do this all the time. I guess it will pay off in the end though
  7. This is my car coming soon from Japan. Not as great as all the GTR's i'm seeing in this thread but I did the best with the money I had. Just a question on the picture of the rear end, does that rear bumper look a bit suss, just doesn't look right to me. The rear bumper seems to sit a bit higher than the right rear quarter panel behind the wheel.
  8. Going a bit off topic. Some of the other china replica parts such as the replica intercoolers for example, are they half decent for the price they ask for them? Or are they just a crappy brand that is going to crap itself in a couple of months time?
  9. Hell yeah, someone should make one on a property out of the metro. I would be going there all the time. Well when you think about it. Theres basically nowhere you can take your car to go drifting (legally) or to go and do burnouts other than the drags and the occassional drift meeting at some tracks. I would be spending a bit of time there.
  10. I went through prestige motorsport as well. Yeah they forgot to tell me the bit that I could be waiting up to 6 months for shipping. At the end of every month I have asked if my car made it onto the ship (in december and January) and it has missed out each and every time, becoming a bit frustrating if I do say myself. When he firsts sends you the email after you've paid for it in full. It should say the place of shipping from there. Mine is coming from Kawasaki Port. So while its waiting for shipping, my car is sitting by the docks, rusting and being raided by treasure thieves only to have the tits thrashed out of it by the time it arrives at the dock by the wharfies (ever been down to the docks and seen the strips all over the place?) I wish prestige offered the same service as J-spec to pay half now and half when the car arrives as it would give some piece of mind. As for me I've paid close on 7k only to have 2 pictures of the car and that its somewhere in Japan that I've never heard of. As for you guys if you have only bought it recently, with the amount of people rushing to get cars it would be more than likely that the car would arrive somewhere around May/June. Yeah it sucks and I can't wait for the relief when I finally get the car.
  11. Well (correct me if i'm wrong) I believe you would experience more understeer going into corners with your new springs than your old ones. Thats the only problem I can think of that comes to mind.
  12. Errr... isn't castor also known as the 'toe in/out'?
  13. We need places like Driftland..... *remembers back to drift bible*
  14. Yeah I'm also waiting on my car coming from Kawasaki port as well (4 door GTS-T). A bloody painful wait. Just out of interest im guessing the cars get shipped in cronological order, so how long ago did everyone else buy there car which they are still waiting on? I bought mine in late november and am pretty optomistic it should definately be on the next ship.
  15. I can't believe people pay so much for 2nd hand rims! Sure they look awesome but farken hell the prices are bloody expensive. Isnt there anyone out there who sells replica rims of the R34 GTR rims?
  16. I am interested. What make are they exactly?
  17. BMXWRX is right in what he is saying, it really depends at the end of the day whether you want the passion or the money more.
  18. I myself am following a similar path to Evilelmo. I came out of Year 12 in 2003 doing what we call "TEE" over in WA and was competent in Physics, Chemistry and Applicable Maths. One of the hardest decisions I made was going and doing an apprenticeship rather than doing uni. The reasons why I decided to start now, rather now than later is 1) The pay is really crap as an apprentice 2) You basically just clean all day when you first start 3) Workshops generally won't take on older people As Gatty said I choose to start my apprenticeship at a Ford dealership, not that I'm an overall huge Ford fan the new series of BA Falcons are really quite something, also the XR6T is a sign of things to come. I looked at the options of working at various peformance shops in Perth and its quite easy to say that there didn't look like there were exactly many apprentices in there workshops. They only way I could see getting an apprenticeship at one goes by the old saying "It's not what you know, its who you know". Anyway being at a dealership would give you a better knowledge overall than if you specialised specifically in one aspect of the motor. I've looked into doing various tafe courses as a night course but havent found anything specific with what I want to do as xRhettx said I looked into Mechnical Engeering as an option but it doesn't seem apply much on a practical level. The only other option I came across is that there is a uni in Melbourne which specialises in Motorsport Engineering or something like that. The main thing to keep in mind is stayed focused and determined. I coped quite a bit of crap initially about it but 1 year in all is going great. I'll just have to see what the future holds.
  19. Whats the price and do you have any pictures of it?
  20. I thought Bar and Plate intercoolers were better flowers generally than Tube and Fin?
  21. Looking to buy an either brand new or slightly used Apexi S-AFC Digital Computer. Or if anyone know of a place which sells them brand new for really cheap that would be great as well.
  22. Vibrations can be caused by many different factors, most of the time being unbalanced wheels but vibrations can be caused by things such as an unbalanced tailshaft, gearbox problems and diff problems (it would vibrate heavily at all speeds so i doubt it would be that one). You can hope that its just tyres but it could be many things as well. Also do you know if the vibration only occured while accelerating or under all driving conditions?
  23. HAHA contact mine. That would be a good concept.
  24. The car will probably start bending after time but I imagine (not quite 100%) the sway bar would bend before any other damage would be done. A stiffer sway means that when a car is cornering, more force is distributed onto the inside wheel rather than dumping it all on the outside tyre. I imagine that having stiffer sway bars elimanates the need for going out and spending heaps on really stiff drift coilovers to get basically the same result. That way the body wont flex as much and softer springs can be used for day to day driving. However if you avoid using coilovers completely you start to worry about centre of gravity etc. etc.
