Ahhh so its 13 devil is it? fark didnt pick up on that 1. Sounds like ure pissing ppl off mikey
-
Well i suppose its really the fault of the car industry and making such crappy domestic cars. Plus the govt opening up imports so much. While the noobs may be stoopid at least they are not stoopid enough to buy a falcodore
-
Cant help somebody who cant help themselves, this is not a creche' after all. In my opinion (and u just know i gonna give it) the young kids, yeh kids, with these kind of cars have started too young and therefore cannot make head nor tails of thier cars. Most of us older types started off with falcons and corrollas and crap like that that we played with without having to worry about breaking them. Then when we couldnt get any further by ourselves we came looking online for help, hance SAU was born. If you buy a 'line right out of highschool as seems to be all too common these days, which would NEVER happened in my day (not all that long ago). You dont have time to build up a slow steady base of knowledge, mechanical, minor traffic accidents or otherwise. Learning to run before you can walk i think. The problem is the balance is tipping and there are too many new members that use SAU as a phone book instead of looking around themselves.
-
Yeh i must admit with all the new people on these days we lose alot of the old school people who have good technical knowledge and could really help you out with a problem when you needed it. However SAU does reflect the current state of the import scene, more inexperienced p plater type ppl getting into the scene with no real opinon of their own who bought their car based on the fact that they could afford it and it their mates say its fully sic. ( im not poking at any1 here i just call it as i see it) We will call this the (falcodore to import demographic transition) ppl who used to buy vl trubos etc are now able to get imports for the same price. In the early days it was hard to find an import like the skyline and maintaining was difficult as well due to the lack of expertise due to the rareity of these types of vehicles. This in my opinion is what SDU and later SAU was founded on, an almost cult following. Now days they are almost as common as commodores and parts and workshops are numerous, therefore we no longer need the "underground" or cult following to be able to get the things we need. Still, alot of people still come on here and get a hand or a result to their search and thats what SAU is here for after all, right?

Damn u gotta get up pretty early these days eh
-
17 months!!!!! u could have fashioned a car out of a bathtub and some volcanic rock by now but then of course ud be drving a falcodore
-
I always thought that if u ran up around 12psi u needed and IC to stop it pinging and going nuts? hmm maybe im confused, dont forget that ive never had an RB powered 'line.
-
But cooler is soo shiny And you have to tune up a new safc or pfc so may as well do it with the cooler in so u dont havet ot do it again down the track. Sure its prolly gonna suck it down but they should be done pretty close together anyway.
-
Yep werd to that, no contest. Putting a turbo on the NA is not as easy as u may think, better off buying a whole new engine. S13s are cheap to run cheap to fix and they are friken go karts ergo they handle great and are fun to drive. (hehe always wanted to use that word) Insurance wise, the 33 would be doable, if your under 21, but the s13 is gonna cost you around 3-4k if your drving history is perfect and you have never lost your license.
-
Probably best to lurk your way around the general or forced induction sections and get feel for what your looking for first. There is alot of technical knowledge in there for beginners like yourself and you will learn alot. The cooler would probably be the next step followed by some kind of engine/fuel management (powerfc, safc, etc, etc) then you go to the manifolds and or new turbo. With all that, if you do it right, you should be able to double your power from stock. Internal work is for serious budgets and serious power (or exploded engines) Hopefully that gives you somewhere to start but i still suggest having a look in the tech sections. Do a search if you want to research something specific. Everyone has their own opinion best to make ure own mind up. Oh and welcome to da forums
-
Werd to that!! what is it they say? "99% of statistics are false, forfty percent of all people know that" The way i see it cops should be helpful and polite to the normal law abiding citizens, if they have to give u a parking ticket they dont have to throw a pointless yellow along with it, that just serves to piss people off. Most people i know will not ask a cop for directions, thats half the reason they are there, only law breakers are supposed to fear cops, not everybody. Then again they should still be able to crack a few skulls when need be a bit of thought about where the energy is applied would be a good idea. Disrespect begets disrespect !!!

I got mine made up by some guys called "advanced polymer techincs" or something along those lines. They are out in Armadale as i recall. You will have to give them your old ones as a model though.

Well u gotta admit the reply was pretty water tight. After all "studies have shown" So whats the option? challenge the legitimacy of govt? i wonder if any1 factors in the "runner factor" it would be interesting to see if high speed chases have increased due to these laws being brought in and normal law abiding citizens buggin out instead of stopping due to fear of being caught. God bless the Canadians why cant we follow their example instead of being "zero tolerance" morons like the US. Does the Govt really want its people to hate it? or they just want to make a few bucks? well i guess we are the minority so our opinion does not count.

Corolla SE sedan. Classic 80s boxy style. Has the same wheel base and chassis as the famed Sprinter, dont bother with the sprinter- better off getting a s13 na and u know what i think of those.
-
Yep ure looking for some 4age powered 20v super fast doof doof mobile arent u. Find a ke70 with the 4ac in it, should cost you about $800. Try to get it with less than 200k on the clock and it should be fine. Then get 3rd party property for it for about $135 a year which will help you build up a no claim bonus and if u ram a merc u wont be in the hole for it. No point insuring a bunky with full comp.
-
Only problem is that the Pacific ocean feels like ure swiming in urine, ewwww so warm. Yeh that tower is crazy, the anticipation is what kills u.
-
Get a bunky a ke70 corrolla is still rwd and based on teh ae86 chassis very stable very fun to drive. According to the bible (initial D) this is the kind of card that "teaches you to drive" good feedback through the steering wheel so u can tell where the wheels are and what they are doing and its basic as. It will give you a over "feel" for the car on the road and that does take a few years to fully comprehend to the point where it is second nature and the car feels like an extension of the body. My favourtie saying for some of the more idiot drives is "i dont control the car the car controls me!!!!" hence they are kind of riding the car around as opposed to controling it. Or even the 1979 corrolla was gold, dont get an old maza, 626 especially, they suck the big one. Or the mitsubishi colt, they ruled. I had a c210 skyline for my first car, it was ok but didnt last me long.

Oh and if you borrow money off you mum it will forever hang over your head. She could be the best mum in the world but it will always be there in the back of your mind when you want to go against her wishes etc etc. Oh and in my opinion the s13 NA is a retarded piece of crap, so under powered may as well get a vw beetle and put a 911 shell on it. Might as well get a pulsar SSS same engine and all but will still cost you 7-8k for a decent 1.

Hey tj dont give shit to stormy he has complete cognisance of every synapse in his cerebral cortex. Ahem, anyhow As 33spec mentioned any s13 turbo that ure gonna get for under 7k is going to be completely dead and you going to end up getting yourself in more debt than u can poke a stick at. Some fool will no doubt tell u that fixing it will be cheap and that engines fall from trees, not true at all, it will be off the road for ages and you will still be wating for the bus anyway but all your money will be poured into a car that you overextended to buy let alone fix. I know your young and all and thats cool we were all like that once. However if you went out and got an s13 and by some grace of god it didnt fall apart on you then the probabiltiy of you having an accident is astronomical, im not saying ure stupid or u cant drive. The mere fact of the matter is that young ppl have stuff in their blood/brains that makes em do stupid stuff from time to time and silvias and 180s tend to bring this quality out in most people anyway, it just happens. Then of course your excess for any bingle is going to be huge (3-5k) and thats going to kill your budget real bad. My bro got an 85 corrola that i bought for him in 1999 and its still running, sure he doesnt give a damn about his car and doesnt care what he drives, the point is that it costs him nothing is cheap to insure and register and u just cant crash the thing cause its got no power to play with. You will be working for the rest of you life, have a bit of fun now and think about buying a real car that you can treat right and only spend your "spare" money on, after your about 21 when insurance will be resonable. Well thats my 2c ive been on these forums a while now and ive seen ppl like this come and go, most of em last 1 year and sell due to not being able to afford renewal etc etc. then they spend 5 years paying off the loans/credit card debt. No offense intended stormy

Still as far as technical stuff goes http://www.silviawa.com/ would be best as they are concerned with sr20s and the like.

Like many things in perth, we cant get the numbers together to make it worth while.

Well i just got miy lic back today. Lost it for : 90 in a 70 -3 points 0.06 on double demrits/fast eddies run - 6points and last but not least "turning in front of oncoming traffic" - 3points The last one consquently wrote off a 86 corrola that nailed me in the ass and caused a fair amount of damage to the supra. 3 weeks later i got it out of the repair shop and went for a cruise.

Same as using a high voltage electric current, not user friendly. Maybe train up a trunk monkey http://www.trunkmonkey.com/ I hear up in karatha as Yorik said, you have to leave ure fuelcap open so it doesnt get jimmied open and put a rag in so they can tell you have filled it with avgas. Then again i wouldnt be drving a rhine up there as it doesnt really ahve a big enough fuel tank and of course the avgas thing.
