  1. There are kits around which disable the rear steering.... i know Tomei make one - it's recommended by most mechanics when you mention HICAS....
  2. WHOA!! Im not a big fan of R33s - probably due to them being so common but dude that is up there with the best of them.... Nice work!!! Dont tempt me i may have to upgrade (?) haha... Love the discreet rear spoiler too
  3. Cheers guys... yeah Doc, that's it - it goes really heavy and sometimes my car actually stalls if it occurs at slow speed. I remember now that my mechanic said it had something to do with the aftermarket steering wheel i have because the sensor is apparently linked at the steering wheel and when they fit an aftermarket jobby it screws up the system somehow.....
  4. Gday to all you R32 guys... I have an R32 GTST and after say 10mins of highway driving at say 70km/h+ my car feels as if it loses its rear grip for a half and instant - scary stuff. My HICAS light then comes on. I have deduced with the help of my new mechanic that it is the HICAS system changing the steering direction of the rear wheels. When you first start up the car apparently the rear wheels steer in the opposite direction to the front but after several minutes of driving they revert to the same direction as the fronts / / to / / / / if you know what i mean... My question is... does your R32 suffer this herendous and sh#t scary tail wag as it changes??? When i say scary i mean drift style sideways (so it seems)... Your feedback is much appreciated...
  5. Speaking of R32 and R33 GTSTs does anybody know the factory performance figures (0-100km/h and 0-400m) for these cars when stock and what sort of power they have at the wheels??? Just interested to know what i have to start with... Additionally, what sort of gain to FMIC give power wise??
  6. Ok thats a fair enuf comment re: the alarm not working through 5 brick walls but think about what you're saying.... it doesnt matter if your car gets stolen beneath Star City for example because as soon they trigger an alarm you get a call... additionally the tracking signal will resume when the car gets outside of the building. So you're only screwed if they decide to strip the car for parts in the actual carpark. So basically even if the thief ducks in and out of concrete carparks as soon as he moves again the signal will track him. They tend to pick the thief up within 20mins of first detection anyway so he aint gunna get too far....
  7. Apologies for the double post.... you know computers
  8. Century Batteries make a dead-set replica of the original battery that would be in your car!! Mine went and i was worried that i wouldnt be able to find a replacement that would fit - cos they are smaller than a standard battery.... anyway i just went to Nissan at Hornsby and they got me a replacement for $90!!! They stock Century Batteries but im sure other brands make the same size one... Hope this helps

  10. keep us posted with all developments on your car - pics/figures etc... you should set up a website cos its a pretty unique sort of build-up you're doing!!
  11. ok one more that i would highly recommend - have had dealings with them and have been impressed. Im also having them do some more major stuff in times to come on my R32 - ADVAN Performance Centre Pty Ltd. They're also at Silverwater NSW. www.advan.net.au ph) 02 9647 1326 These guys know their stuff - actually one guy Peter (he owns it). They're kiwis (so they know their Skylines). They also know their mods and would definitely be worth a call or a visit.
  12. 9 Blaxland St, Silverwater NSW 2128 ph) 02 9648 4264 http://www.motorsportworld.com.au/outlets/croydon/ that appears to be the website... High Performance Imports are using them for their project R34 so im assuming they're good Hope this helps out
  13. Id probably be getting into contact with Croydon Racing Developments at Silverwater NSW... they appear to be a neat outfit with the expertise needed to pull this one off... By the way, i like your plans!!!
  14. Yep i heard that Hills Motorsport are tops too but they have a waiting list as long as ya arm!!!
  15. I have so many stories about UAS you wouldnt possibly have the time to listen to them all...... But let me just say Mark is a great engineer.... i agree with you there however UAS as an operation couldnt organise a root in a brothel. F@cking pathetic. Had my car serviced there a month ago. There were a few other items aside from the service that needed to be done... let me just say the car was more f@cked when i got it back than we i dropped it off. They'd buggered up most of the stuff i told them to do and forgotten to even attempt the rest. Additionally and more worrying is the fact that i said to them as i dropped the car off "NO ADD-ONS... NO EXTRA COSTS.... I HAVE NO EXTRA MONEY.... CALL ME IF YOU FIND A PROB" guess what i get the bill and they've overcharged me by $90 for rotating my tyres!!!! Get f@cked (unfortunately i didnt check the bill under 3days later). So basically they wroughted me. Then it took great arm twisting on my behalf to get them to fix all the shit they broke.... And they were rude/difficult to deal with.... Also they forgot to call me when my car was finished... pffft thanks guys. They are also expensive like really expensive - e.g. $940 quote for timing belt and water pump. I rang my mates mechanic (Josh - owner of ProConcept at West Ryde 9807 4488). This guy is the best he quoted $630 and charged me $600!!! He's cheaper on services too and doesnt f@ck you round... Basically UAS are a big well renowned workshop that charges big cos they're well known not cos they're necessarily good... Hope this helps....
  16. I have an R32 GTST with a Turbosmart Type II V-port BOV fitted and it only makes that flutter noise when you're not fully on boost and you let off the accelerator.... i agree its a good sound tho. My BOV cost $280+$45 for RB20DET attachment plate. I reckon on my particular car it sounds to be the best BOV ive heard in a while.... it has so many personalities... but they are a bit of a handracer accessory hehe
  17. I dont know if this will really help - it's a pretty obvious idea but try a Nissan dealer. I am from Sydney and the Nissan dealer at Hornsby was a GTR specialist dealer in the early 90s. They told me that they can get all replacement parts for R32 GTRs.... however the prices were steep... but then if you really want i.....
  18. I have an R32 GTST and i have a Trust intercooler (600x276x76mm) on order and am contemplating installing it myself. I dont have great mechanical knowledge (i.e. im not an engineer or mechanic) I was wondering if anyone has installed one of these themself (not necessarily Trust) and whether you would recommend i try it myself. Apparently this kit is all bolt on.... Your suggestions are most appreciated. Additionally if anyone knows of where to get carbon fibre (non-vented) GTR bonnets - please let me know im desperate.
  19. whoops - i shouldve stated... it has to be vent-less and basically stock looking. I know of the the UAS ones and im afraid: 1) UAS are the worst to deal with i cannot list all the dramas ive had with them 2) the UAS bonnets have vents and arent proper replicas... So any other ideas???
  20. I am in desperate need of an R32 GTR carbon fibre bonnet. I have a grill and now i need the matching bonnet. I am from Sydney and am struggling to locate one. Can anyone please assist me in finding someone who sells them or can get hold of one - at a reasonable price aswell. Second-hand is fine as long as condition is excellent.
