The stock turbo on my R32 GTST is on its way out. My mechanic suggested that i look into getting a single turbo from a VG30 as a replacement. It's going for about $600 including coolant piping etc. How does this sound? * Can anyone give me more information on this turbo? Specs etc. * Whether this application is recommended? * Any alternatives for around the same price? Additionally, what sort of turbo do the R32 GTSTs run stock? I was told T28 but i have since been told it's T3....

Stock 'cooler from an R32 GTST * Core is in excellent condition * All associated piping/clamps/bolts etc * Will supply photos if anyone is interested I am not looking for an unreasonable amount of money for this kit. I have seen ones on Ebay sell for $195+ but i wouldnt think that its worth quite that much. Im in Sydney btw PM with any offers at all as i just want to get rid of it and get some remuneration for it....

Adrian _Perth - i thort i was the only obsessed one!! I hate washing or spending unnessary lengths of time looking at my car (or in direct sunlight) cos then you notice marks you never even knew!!! DJ_Lethal - man on the first day i got my car was picking my g/f up from school - never been there in my life and scraped my sideskirt something fierce - the sound was heartbreaking. I didnt talk all the way home. She knew.... Call Chips Away = 0412241014 (Sydney) they do a great job of clearing up our mistakes... Personally i just used a permanent marker (my car is black) and it is almost unnoticable!!

I heard a whisper but its reliability is questionable but the stock turbo (Garrett GT40) can handle 800hp.... Anyway as im sure you've heard, the manual gearbox apparently isnt up to handling any increases in power. The auto gearbox is another matter however as its meant to be a pretty good and hard wearing 'box at that. 6psi is standard boost which equates to 240Kw, rumour has it 270-300Kw has been seen on the Ford dyno in its prototype stages. However im not sure whether this was done through upping the boost. Longevity of other parts may begin to be an issue from this point on. Keep in mind however that they have to keep the XR8 as the pinnacle car of the range - thus keeping the XR6T to under 260Kw, so im sure you can safely wind up the XR6T to surpass the XR8. As for the Ford mechanics knowing about any increases in boost - that is correct. All functions of all cars are stored within the car's computer and a diagnostic test during a service will hightlight any discrepancies.

Now that you mention Mick's metalcraft i have a feeling..... Because i did ask them a while ago and they said from memory TTV8 (1000+hp Commodore Ute from S'Nats 2002) ran the same i'cooler that they sell.... I have tried to get in contact but t no avail (very busy) am waiting eagerly on their reply so i thort id stick a post.....

Dont get me wrong - i hate rice as much as the next guy but i dont believe in vandalism of other people's property. Not everyone has high asperations of owning a Skyline and some people can barely afford it like me ($0.30/km to run atm!!) but either way someone has probably worked hard for their Excel so its not good news for them.... still i can see the funny side cos they're really sh#itty cars!!! Has anyone had any experience with the intercooler kits for R32 or i guess R33 GTSTs from Unique Autosports? Im interested in purchasing one but its obviously not a big name brand so im a little scheptical about flow rates, pressure drop and overall quality of the kit. Your opinions are most welcome...

Hahaha... fair call Oz Elitesport!!! I dont want to start a race debate on this topic but i think we all know who are behind all this dodgey behaviour. I dont feel threatened by my fellow ozzies when it comes to having my car stolen - its the other people that scare me cos they have no respect for others or others' property because of the way they've been brought up in their culture. Yeah too many dodgey people that have come here on fake passports or have overstayed their VISA and our authorities are too slack to track them down. NO CHANCE.... im 19 and the i rang everyone - the cheapest quote i got under my own name (they dont insure turbo cars under your parents name - it goes off who the youngest driver is) was $6712 for my R32 GTST through Just Car Insurance. Suncorp Insurance wanted $10,412. And as an extra i have had no driving infringements and live in a low-theft area.

There's just too much theft going on in Sydney and probably the rest of Australia. Ive just read DON91E's thread on the theft of his 328i BMW, also i have just heard about the theft of a GTR and BMW in the one incident earlier this morning.... What the hell is going on?? Two stories for you: 1) a good mate of mine had his very special R32 GTST stolen from his work roughly 2mths ago - it has completely disappeared without a trace. 2) another close friend of mine and her b/f who was a passenger at the time were carjacked(!) at gunpoint(!!!!!) for her sh#tbox 1980s Corolla outside Westmead Hospital a month ago. Carjacking is one thing but with guns??? At a hospital??? Come the f#ck on?? The world has gone completely nuts - who the hell are we letting into the country??
