  1. HAAHAH some of the funniest stuff i have seen on here for a while. Firstly, thanks all so much for your information, i really appreciate it, definately a novice at the moment and all this info sure does help! Ok i will go and get some tyres, the local shop had a slick tyre in the middle but some nobbly bits on the outside (semi slick no doubt) brand new for $20 a tyre, i have free servicing for a year on it, so at the 6 week mark (4 weeks away) i will get them to whack those tyres on for me. Might also look at some lighter rims depending onhow much they cost, as you have all said i will probably hold off spending big until i can get a decent bike. I DID want to go all out and get some of your lovely bikes, but i was a little worried because i thought i might by a beautiful bike but not enjoy it.... HOW WRONG I WAS! So prob around christmas time if you guys have any nice high quality mountain bikes you want to get rid of let me know. Eps- I live in Joondalup and look after the Joondalup Leisure Centres so riding to work is prob a miss, BUT when i get a bit more used to riding (2 -3 weeks) would definately be keen on doing a river ride! you will prob have to go a bit slow for me though! Will PM you mate pretty soon on that in a few weeks. As strange as it sounds and as much as we joke about it, that bloody seat its whats annoying me the most! its a good gel seat but man it hurts after an hour or so ride! Not to keen on that new lightweight space saving seat you posted above. :-) Ok so: Tyres - Check Rims - check price. Thanks again, and advice from you guys is much appreciated, i will be on this thread quite a bit id say learning bit by bit.
  2. Well thought i could now officially pitch in. I am now the proud owner of an Apollo summit 24 speed mountain bike. First bike for about 15 years as i used to race BMX when i was younger, have been doing heavy weights in the gym and kinda feel my cardio is slipping so thought i could start riding to work (about 18kms each way but i am going to give it a bloody good crack) Just went round the local loake for an hour and a half ride, then the day before went to my parents house and back an hour and a half in total as well. In doing so i have really enjoyed it, i actually get kind of excited about going for a ride. Now the help i need from you pro - bikies, in the same way i did up my old sub standard 33 gtst, i understand the apollo summit is an average bike (cost 500 inc helment) What do you think i could do to upgrade this to get to work easier. Anything you guys recommend i do to assist in performance, although i will be riding to work my friend does some serious mountain biking and he said when i get some good balance and good legs i can come with him, my bike should be ok for a little bit of mountain biking. Link attached of my bike. http://www.apollobikes.com/bikes10/sport/summit Any help or recommendations from you guys would be much appreciated, really enjoying it so far and would love any feedback and info from you guys.
  3. Just ordered for the first time from aussiegamer.com.au very impressed with everything, good delivery time and cost is exceptional! I bought Bioshock2 for less than half the price that EB games sells it for: http://www.aussiegamer.com.au/bioshock-2-b...me-p-47294.html $37 inc delivery is very cheap!
  4. Geeeez DiV! Just when i get proud of my 1x5870 effort you go out and get 2!!! All i want now is nice quad core, not i5/i7 just yet. I signed up with OCAU but have to wait 90 days until i can access for sale section. So whats the 3dmark score on a baby like that? Why the velicoraptors over SSD?
  5. Anyone who finshes dragon age of origins in my book is hardcore gamer!11!! Have been playing this thing for a long time now and i recon am only half way through, i have purchased (from aussie gamer which was so bloody cheap!) Bioshock 2 and am hanging to play it but cant until i finish dragon age!
  6. I dont live too far from perth however i cannot use iinets servers. so when i called them up they said they would put me on a telstra server but still under them (hope that makes sens) they were going to charge $80 inc phone line per month for $79.95 for 12GB (1 month ago) I then called Telstra even though by no means am i a fan. They offered me the exact same deal so i thought why not i already have the phone line. I then looked in the paper and Telstra now has 25 gig for $49.95 (not inc phone line) per month with an 8000k connection! so i called em up explained i only just joined and they swapped me over, an extra 13 gig for the same price! So far so good, i am quite impressed with them to be honest. Of course that could change very quickly but i do beleive on the telsra servers should ou live a fair distance from an exchange telstra would be the way to go.

Gigabyte 5870 Microsfot c/less x5 gaming mouse Asus 26inch 2ms Monitor. Anyone selling a nice quad core? thats my next little upgrade from dual to quad before i need to step up to i5 or i7.
  8. Can you beat PCCG or MSY prices?
  9. NICE good work! I do consider myself a gamer but more based with just e against the PC. I am in Perth and not many LAN partys or comps to that effect. If there was a HALO comp i recon i would do ok??
  10. Hmmm microsoft SE vista or Win7 based? Cant locate it in Vista at the moment...
  11. I use AVG, free and works well IMO
  12. So till SSD then all the way? On Toms hardware a lot of the testing showed not a huge amount of difference between the raptor and the Caviar black FASS 2TB edition. makes ya wonder, put 2x2TBs in raid format and see if there is much of a comparison at all, price would be pretty good and you would score 4TB compared to 600GB I have always wanted a raptor though :-)
  13. Dont get much cheaper than this for 5870's! http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_p...oducts_id=13880 Of course if there is a supplier in oz that is trusted let me know, as i am about to order one as soon as Nvidia brings theirs out. I have always been nvidia but this time i think ATI have taken the cake and i am hoping goes down a little bit more in price when the GT100 Nvidia series comes out ......
  14. yeah i have heard that as well that you can continue on your character, My plan is: fly out next Tuesday to america for my 4 week honeymoon. Arrive home 1st march and *hopefully* order the new nvidia dx11 card BUY Mass effect 2 Complete it Then wipe my whole computer install windows 7 with SSD drive P.S. Mayuri if your reading this you might be PM'd by me for some Perth Techy help in installing SSD drives :-)
  15. this thread is going to go for a while. Also have a look at some of the PC build threads in here for some good advice and some builds that are prob what you are after. Some good online stores already have decent PC's made at a good price www.netplus.com.au www.scorptec.com.au (i have not used em so not sure) www.ple.com.au www.pccasegear.com.au (not pre built systems but if you want to make one my purchases from there have always resulted in me being a very happy customer)
  16. I think its pretty much the same company now, but Westnet is based in WA. Most of their plans seem identical.
  17. ahahahaah Nice! Hangin out for both these games, i am off to the US in 20 days, if i can find a copy there i will grab one otherwise the day i get back i will be placing my order!
  18. Good Ole Ronnie.. "Nothin But a Peanut!"
  19. Ghost Run, yeah i have a pic at the last car show my old car was in before i sold her, will find the pic, not really a good one at all prett sh*t actuallly. I do have a couple of pics that shows definition etc but to be honest am not all that comfortable whackin em up :-) But the car show one aint bad but its 4 years old. To be honest mate, I am not MASSIVE I am not RIPPED, but i feel like i am in good enough nick for a 30 year old. I weigh and fluctuate between 94 - 96 kilos (trying to cut down to 90 though before my honeymoon to the US) Bench 120 MAX 6 reps, Squat 120 MAX 6 reps, shoulder press 30 kilo dumbells - 10 reps, the usual curls etc etc. I have managed gymnasiums and PT teams, throughout my time i have seen people come and go.....ehehehe.... funny story.... REV210 you will prob remember me from when i was managing Zest Osborne Park that time and i showed you around small world huh! but the biggest thing for me that i have learnt is as mentioned some of the programs i see written physically and mentally 'abuse' people. Some of the programs cannot be sustained over long periods, so whilst you hammer for 3 months and get the results, i then see you in the gym 4 months later because once you got your results you needed to rest because you were exhausted, of course now having that time off you need to start over again. Again, im not trying to say which program is right or wrong, techiques and research is changing all the time and counter arguing previous universities/doctors/studies/trainers ideas. So the one thing that remains consistent in achieving a decent program is the ability to form a habitual process, no, that doesnt mean do the same movements repeatadly, i mean give the client variety and mental stimluation as well as physical.
  20. After reading all this there are hundreds of arguments for and against each way of training that you are mentioning.... strange but true i swear i read something crazy similar to what rev is going on about.... dont mean i agree with it and not sure how good it is but still proves the point that there was an argument for minimal reps and no doubt some against it. Magazine after magazine will state one thing one week then the following week so how bad it is or what a waste of time it is. In my 11 years + of training my recommendation is not so much on program etc, but more as to what you/ the client will be comfortable with and create a habitual process with. Providing calories out>calories in then happy days (unless bulking up of course but then i would still be careful on calories etc) I would love to point out faults with everything but to be honest i cant, because like we see here there are arguments by predominant people in the industry that back up all kinds of strange stuff. to sum up my training regime, go hard, go heavy eat protein, this theory worked 50 years ago and still works today. Want to bulk up mix in some compound movements, want athletic abilities mix in plymetrics and explosive techniques. This is a BASIC form for MY training, not everyone elses, it works for me for over 11 years and i still recon i am in pretty good nick for a 30 year old so it cant be too wrong. Part of my job is I get to see elite athletes training daily and see some new movements coming through, Perth Rugby team Western Force lift some serious stuff and Mitchell Johnson is pretty good when he is not fast bowling for Oz but i will leave it at that.
  21. Hmmm some interesting conversations going on here. Any of you guys work in the gyms? If so any of you going Filex this year? Went last year which was good work pays for me which is always nice, going through some of the latest things in the industry and seeing the massive tradeshow was fantastic! Very cheap supplements to!
  22. i use netplus ple pccasegear (for interstate orders) - their customer service is impeccable!! I live in WA so ple and netplus are a given.
  23. I used to use a colour matching company called colourtech. google it. Located in perth and a mobile service. I use to have the super red pearl coloured 33 (1ANO) and was always a bitch to match but those guys (one of em was called Tony Stalker and DEFINATELY RECOMMENDED!) used to get it right every time, was good enough for the shows the car used to go in and would come up perfect!
  24. Get a 5870 Gfx card, coz if you dont want it i will buy it second hand off you :-) ehehehehehe! Honestly Gohan, there is soooooo many combinations of different good things out there. Give a reputable store a call or use some of the advice we have given you so far. some good info from the following 3 in recent threads from Mayuri crab, 31 Nismoid and DivX hunter, they seem to be our most prominent posters in here (that or they are post whores :-) ) and most of the stuff they have said seems pretty much spot on from the reviews so take on some of the info they have given. If the tax break ends 31st Dec then yeah go for it. I would just hate it though if you ordered something that isnt compatible BUT that is easily overcome when you speak to the store before ordering :-)
  25. you mentioned you werent gaming, 31 nismoids selection on a graphics card is 'sumptous' sorry only word i could think of, I sooooooo want one, its an amazing card BUT if you arent into gaming you could prob save $100 - $200 and get the next one down the 5850 or even the 5770. both still nice cards and should do some nice things for you. The money you save on that you could then prob go a step up in some of the motherboards 31nismoid suggested.
