  1. Went in to GCG this morning with my GCG hi-flow and what I was lead to believe was a VG30 rear housing. He (can't remember name) had a real quick look at it and said it wasn't a VG30 housing, his opinion was that it is a standard RB25 housing... same as on my turbo already. He based this on the inlet side of the housing, saying it doesn't have squared off edges around the stud holes. Believing the experts, I took his word for it and left. After getting home I had another look at them and I don't agree. Here are some pics, it may not be a VG30 but its definately larger than the housing on there now. You can see by what I have circled that the housing buldges quite noticably after the bolts. Here are some more of the housing. What housing have I bought???
  2. Good stuff!! I thought that was the case but in my research I found about 3-4 threads where Duncan said the Recaros wouldn't fit and Brides were the only choice. Well, on that good news I'll grab some Recaro rails! Thanks guys.
  3. I have read many threads about mounting Recaros in my R33, I have found it quite confusing so far. This is what I understand; Recaro make rails labelled as fitting R32/33 but according to Duncan they don't fit without modification. Can someone confirm, don't see why they would sell them if they don't fit. I rang Idealseat for a price and they didn't mention any modifcation was necessary. Bride need to have holes drilled to mount the seat to the rail, but fit otherwise. Who has gone through this before? Let me know what you found out. Also, I understand that the Recaro rails are ADR approved so if they fit without mods that will be the best option, if I use the Bride rails what would engineer approval cost?

  11. Just wanted to know if these are the same set you mention in post 11 of this thread? http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...8&hl=re55+price If they are from your initial calculations there should only be ~30% left??? If you are sure about the treadwear remaining I'm keen to make a decent offer.

  18. I tried it today on my 33 gtst, was a little hard to start first go, and then hunted around for a while before it idled. It has since been rock solid and starts perfectly. In terms of performance it feels quite responsive, especially throughout the midrange, but I could never be certain without chucking it on a dyno. I wasn't too concerned about running lean as I have a rom tune that is rich with advanced timing... (I couldn't hear any pinging today) but I do believe it leaned the ratios a little as I am now sans most of the crackles and pops that come from the exhaust. I also found it quite amusing that there was a shell rep waiting at the bowsers, handing out brochures for OE100 to everyone, and telling them that this "wonderful new fuel will clean their fuel systems"
  19. Agreed, Adam let us all know if you think it will help and I will definately fire off a letter too!
