  1. I use mine all day everyday to tow both car/trailer and all my work gear with no dramas. Pulls like a dream and better than my old VY that I used to use and being t-bar auto have room for 3 which is handy. I've got upgraded suspension & brakes, aftermarket headers and exhaust, cam and CAI all thanks to Jim Mock which doesn't hurt either
  2. Not really a massive story just over imports and back appreciating the "older" cars again. I lunched 2 engines in my old 32 and it was off the road for nearly 4 years due to other commitments so I was glad to see the tail lights pull out of the drive when it left
  3. Will have to do it tonight, wont let me from the Ipooper
  4. Im keen to check it out, wont be driving (I still DISLIKE imports and wont own one for a while) but always keen to see them in action.
  5. Football can bite the big one, I've said from the start with the Hawthorn deal that there is no way in HELL that they would be generating the money/tourism that the government keep stating they are from football games in Tasmania. WHY would people come to Tassie to watch a game here when they can/could go to the MCG/SCG etc it just doesn't add up??? Sure they reckon that surveys are always done to ask where people are from and if travelling interstate and paying for accommodation but I still smell a rat and it all started with that retard Bartlett. Why would we push so hard for football games let alone a Tassie AFL team when there are so many things that the money could be spent on around the state that are actually needed V8's are here this year and I have no doubt that they will be back next year and the one after and this is all just hype.
  6. Personally I dont think we need the map and TASMANIA on it, should be one or the other? I'll throw a couple up later when Im in front of the laptop.
  7. Are you going to be using any internal frame supports Brad??? A couple of trucks I've seen have ended up looking terrible (you can see ripples all down the panels) as there wasn't enough support. On our old boxed trailer/transporter we ended up using mdf walls with a .4mm steel panel over the top for easier signage etc and a cheaper alternative to probond.
  8. All good cobber Im not in a huge rush so when ever you get a chance. Im just chasing up everything I need so when I start working on it again I can continue on with no/little interruptions Cheers, I did spot that and sent him a PM but didn't hear back.
  9. Im chasing the following: S13 steering rack S13 power steering pump assembly S13 front/rear suspension (either aftermarket or stock) S13 engine mounts F series diff
  10. Priso's old car indeed. Wasn't able to find where he was posting updates (think it was NS.com) but might be worth shooting him a message and asking
  11. Congrats on the win John, hopefully its the first of many. Was it a 25DET head (series one I assume) that you used? Also when you say you dont run resistor packs, I take it your running GTR injectors, what ECU?
  12. Well for my latest project Im still chasing a S13 steering rack and power steering pump and then continue on fabrication and body work.
  13. I could be wrong but a local guy here was building a DR30 with RB25 (ended up using a SR20) am Im pretty sure he was using an S13 cross member instead of the RB to get it low enough and back enough in the engine bay. Let me see if I can find his build thread/updates and I'll get back to you
  14. Looks like it will do the job. Personally I would of made it with a back plate rather than using the tyre well and a fixed bottom plate so it was a complete boxed unit. What were the prefab panels you used?
  15. Ok just to get EVERYONE on the same page ( I have already spoken to a few members) in regards to discussion about SAU affiliation, stickers/merchandise, branding etc its something I've already looked into previously and looking into again for the benefit of the Tasmanian SAU community. Now like everything there are advantages and disadvantages in doing any of the above and anything that is done needs to be done within the guidelines of the forums and/or club guidelines and done once and officially. This being said Im waiting on confirmation if Tasmania are able to run with SAU affiliation as a club without having to be CAMS affiliated and if so what guidelines would be in place (as Western Australia do) and what we are/aren't able to pursue as a club. I will add more to this topic later and really interested in what everyone has to say but until we have conformation of what we can do, I ask all members to stop with the threads/posts regarding all items mentioned above. Cheers Ben
  16. In the middle of writing it at the moment
  17. Damo (and everyone else) its not what "the mods want" there is a MASSIVE difference with Tassie not being an affiliated part of SAU like the other states are and what we can do within the guidelines of the forum and using the NAME/LOGO etc without permission. If every Tom, Dick & Harry went around designing stickers from forums and then spotted doing the wrong thing (media, police, other members, non members of the public) it reflects poorly on the site and is exactly why there are guidelines in place to stop this. Things dont happen overnight and this isn't the first time stickers, clubs or affiliation has been mentioned in the Tassie section and its great to see the enthusiasm of so many forum members and Im sure that with sometime (and patience) Tassie will be able to get something off the ground. Until further notice it would be great if all members could refrain from posting more topics about stickers, affiliation, branding etc as I've already pointed out to some members that things are in place and if this is going to happen then its in everyone's best interest to do it once and do it correctly
  18. Sorry chaps, still trying to get used to the layout of the site whilst using the Ipooper, Im not sure how I managed to lock this as well I have a fair bit to say on this so will reply later when I have more time as I've already been down the road and looked into everything that needs to be done for SAU affiliation.
  19. Closed for now, will PM/reply when Im in front of the computer and not on the Iphone to explain why
  20. Glad to see everyone is happy again. Just to clarify this was the design I was using as Im not a fan of having TASMANIA on the sticker given that we are not "officially" an affiliated club but meh. And for the ones that didn't want the url.
  21. Seeing as there isn't much interest for these I'll let someone else run with it with one of the designs that was done earlier in the month and will stay out of it but as pointed out already the design shouldn't be "based" on what has already been done by other states but something original for Tasmania
  22. Happy to give you a hand if its in Hobart and your more than welcome to borrow my ute to tow it if need be
