  1. Brett, Best idea would be to come around the shop and say hi I've got plenty of dyno sheets from many RBs we've tuned here, more than happy to show you some comparrisions... Can also provide many references for your type of car if you like? Cost is really dependant on what engine/ECU you are using??? IE: RB20, CA, SR, RB25, RB26, RB25/30 etc etc... Regards, Sam.
  2. All the factory maps have huge room for improvement whilst still being conservative enough to use as a mail order
  3. Thousands I'm led to believe... Dyno is now operational thanks to Mainline. It has been repaired and calibrated excluding cosmetic damages....
  4. Technically they're not illegal as they are not 'user tunable', just require a full emmisions test to prove they meet relevant ADR's, in the same way that any password lockable aftermarket ECU can be passed.
  5. Endless straght off the boat running 2.2 bar of boost through twin 2835R Pros with twin 50mm HKS gates venting to Atmo, all this on an HKS 2.7 litre with massive cams and a 4" titanium exhaust... That was the fastest car I've EVER been in, and certainly made me realise the potential of a remapped factory ECU (albeit with an HKS VPC to eliminate the AFMS) Some parts recovered, and the culprit caught, prosecuted, warrant for seizure of goods to pay damages, skipped bail, never paying a cent and nothing other than a slap on the wrist... All we got back was front brakes, gearbox, coilovers, and ignition barrell. Sam.
  6. For those who don't know or remember... I'm sure ash knows..
  7. Holy expletive batman.... I miss me old 32
  8. Mercury Motorsports in Brisbanse have the capabilities, e-mail me for more info. The 33's have a different ECU which is difficult to remap. We've had some excellent results using R32 ECU's in R33's with an aftermarket VCT controller to control the boost, including the 32 ECU, VCT controller, Remap AND Dyno time, it still works out cheaper than a PFC UNTUNED
  9. a: Not sure yet, send me an e-mail and I'll add you to my mailing list. b: FUEL PUMP, and a good quality boost control (Turbotech FTW)
  10. I'll be back in sydney early next year
  11. It's not my birthday, but in the confusion I think I'll get drunk any excuse for a bourbon or lots Legit Happy Birthday to Justin
  12. Can do, just not yet, I have an eprom ECU of my own for live tuning, and just need to get hot of the hardware to tune the H8/534 processor style chip to burn the map onto when we're done.
  13. 1 - Same as a Power FC (but better), the way a hotwire AFM works is an output based on air temp x air flow = air mass (hence the correct name Mass Air Flow Meter) 2 - To return to standard just move one small jumper connection inside ECU, to remove board is a bit harder. 3 - EPA (vic) does closed loop testing through the factory consult port, which still works with remap but not with power fc or any other aftermarket ecu. I already make frequent trips to sydney, e-mail me if you want to try work something out? Sydneykid - some valid points, apart from the tuning costs, I charge the same regardless of ecu. You also mentioned not having to buy a consult reader (AUD$130) but then mention you need a Dataloggit (AUD$465), which even then cannot do some functions such as power balance testing (dropping out one cylinder at a time), simulate water temp corrections, selectable AAC position, all of which are useless as far as a driving point of view goes, but with some of these cars getting past 15 years old now it makes diagnostics and testing so much easier. We are also now selling real time tuning packages to several workshops, all over the country, which chould be up on line in a matter of months...
  14. You cannot check the fuel pressure at idle.... I'd be more than hapy to bet $10 the pump is ROOTED, do a run on the dyno and watch the fuel pressure as it comes on boost... I have seen that curve so many times (except I back off before you hit that peak lean spot) Invest in a Bosch 040 ($250 - $280 Fitted) as the pump is a known common problem, then re-dyno.
  15. Sweet memories... Doxx - Still have some video of your R33, loved the sound of those EXTRACTORS!!! Lol... NA POWA!!... All the kids these days saying: "Hey check out this cool industrial drift spot I found in Tullamarine" Dr Replies: "Flight Drive, Just Off Lambeck Drive near sharps road?? Check out this video!" lol...
  16. R34 Remap is $660 + dyno time, and is better than a Power FC... Why?? - Retains Full Diagnostics through Consult Interface - Retains Full Datalogging through Consult Interface - Full knock sensor feedback - Rapid and accurate closed loop feedback control (good mileage) - Virtually Undetectable - Less Expensive than PFC - Proven to Pass EPA Test (vic) even with bigger turbo's and injectors etc - Can be returned to standard in under 5 mins
  17. lol.... tuning by smell... More than likely your cats been gutted/stuffed or something if it smells at idle... You need a wideband O2 sensor to check mixtures, not bodily senses like smell, touch, or sight...
  18. Take the top cover off the ECU, take a pic, and I'll tell you if it's easily tuned in real time..
  19. Todd, Remembering that it's already remapped and would only need a little more dyno time probably only $180 ish all up... I am planning to come down to Nick's place again ASAP, as I would love to help you guys take advantage of the 98 ron, besides... was one of the best weekends away in years Sam. PS: seeing as you now have 98 I do have some pretty good maps I can post down...
