  1. Stevie - That sux mate, Im waiting for the day when I have to go over the Dickson pits for a "random" inspection **shiver**... Anyway, Id like to help so if you need tyres I can help out...
  2. As soon as the old Scottish bugger gets involved, youre screwed... Ive heard many many horror stories... To bad mate, sorry to hear it.
  3. ha ha Leshy, youre SO funny...
  4. If your coils need replacing then they will most likely be cracked due to the plastic they're made from cracking, causing the spark to "arc" (jump out the side rather than travel down through the spark plug), but Ive never heard of it being so bad that it actually cut the engine, it usually just causes it to run really rough. I would be checking the fuel pump if I were you, sounds like its cutting in and out intermittently.
  5. You dont have to go to Dickson for that, when I changed my rego from NSW to ACT I just found a workshop that was certified and had a chat with the bloke who does the checks and he said that he would "go easy" on me, so he did it and it passed... I would avoid the Dickson pits like the plague if it was me...
  6. Are you sure that its the fuel cut? I would start with the process of elimination technique... Try replacing your O2 sensor first and check that you AFM isnt filthy dirty (check the little wire inside the actual AFM housing, spray with electronics parts cleaner, or carbie cleaner). Check that your crank angle sensor is still working, you'll need to borrow someone elses for this... Then check coils, plugs etc. Other than that Im not sure what it could be.

  8. LOL Shawn... Or Oprah!
  9. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/t186034.html Hi all, This is the NSW club thread about an SAU display this year at AutoSalon Final battle, Im seriously considering entering (not 100% yet though) and I think that we should get at least another 2 ACT cars to go aswell. Your car doesnt have to be a show stopper or a power king, we just want as many nice Skyline's, Silvia's, 180's Datsun's whatever (as long as it has a Nissan badge) to come along and make up numbers. So who's interested?
  10. Not good... Staggered fitment wheels and after market turbo will need engineering, but if the turbo is low mounted on the standard manifold, you might be able to get away with not engineering it if you dont tell them that its aftermarket. I'll warn you though, if you have to get an emissions test and engineers certificate youre up for a fair amount of cash... Probably around $1,000. But can I ask why you went to Dickson? You might be able to go somewhere else and not have them pick on you so much.
  11. AHHAHA!! That is the coolest Avatar I have ever seen Mark! LOL!
  12. This is getting WAY to soppy! C'mon people, I love my car more than I know how to describe but I havent named it and I dont kiss it goodnight everynight... Jeeezz.
  13. Other events? Anyway... I'll have a think over the weekend then and get back to you on Monday, but I would really like to be a part of it...
  14. LOL Michelle, your such a dork when it comes to your car looking purdy Nice choice of tyres though.
  15. Im coming up for Final Battle, regardless of whether I enter or not, I go every year... I just thought that it would be cool to enter. Why would I be "scared of breaking my car"?
  16. Nice upgrade... 66 Stang - 93 GTR... Apart from the blown engine I mean
  17. Im not sure about entering... Im in the ACT but I would love to be a part of the SAU display... Im just not sure that my car is good enough and Im not to sure about being able to make it to the pre event meeting. Have you got anyone else from Canberra coming?
  18. Im concerend that the conversation has turned to fingers now.... Especially with Michelle talking about them.... Ewww!
  19. Failing a Dickson inspection, thats expected... If you own a Skyline you can be pretty sure that you will fail. What did you fail on?
  20. GREAT SUCCESS!!
  21. Ive got a GCG modified Garret GT30 / 71R ball bearing turbo and it is Super responsive, the reason is that it has a smaller rear housing and impeller than the normal GT30 but is still good for around 230 - 250 rwkw. Mine makes full boost ( 18psi ) at 4,000rpm, Ive never had a problem with lag at all. You should go for a Garret ( in my opinion)
  22. You should know by now that Im always right Luke...
  23. Spotted R33 GTR, silver... Really nice! On Lanyon drive going past Karrabar yesterday arvo, gave a wave and got one in return.
  24. Dyno readings and power figures are all relative... You can get one result from one dyno and a completely different one from another... What matters is how the car FEELS. Who cares what the numbers say... I have been trying to get my car perfect on the dyno for months and I have recently realised that they're just numbers... If your car feels quick and responsive and does as much or more than you want it to then thats all that matters.
