  4. i race again junior @ drag combat at the beginning of the year. his car is nice thou had problems getting tractions, he beat me only cuz my gearbox kick it out of gear and i was worried i broken something so i just roll over the line and did a 16second but it is a nice car, talk to some other r31 owners such as tj im sure he can help u out
  5. i will add my 5cents: insurance for me was quote @ $4100 , age:17, R33 gts-t value $20,000 -full cover 3rd party + theif and fire @ $600 + $1000 excess Both were from JUST-CARS and they were the only ones which would touch it, i rang around about 5+ compaies and got the same asnwer no imports or no drivers under the age of 21. For Fuel, im running around 400km to a tank (exhuast, air filter, bov, boost around 0.5bar) i think this is pretty good as i give the car shit nearly everyday (for example i give the car alest 4+ flat out runs a day - running the car to limiter up till speed limit) good r33 for 15k can happen, just take your time and dont rush in (ps dont buy the 1st skyline u see )

  7. hey liz, sorry i couldnt make it both days my car kind of hurt itself on firday night and at 1st it seem like a spun a bearing or damage one but it doesnt look like it now possible turbo or gasket problem, so didnt want to drive it. i no longer work at macca's YAY!! so we will have to work out sometime to get my tshirt
  8. ok i just did that test, the sound is louder when the car is cold, when the car comes to normal oil/rpm/temp it becomes very quite and u can bearly hear it. give the car a few revs and it comes back for a few seconds :s i am very confused

  11. thanks geoff, that was in the back on my mind and i was hoping it wasnt the case, but then i think about it my mech did say something about hearing a sound to tell if the engine was ***ed cheers
  12. Also what would be involed in n/a tuning? cams, balancing, port/polish, piston (optional as power is under the given rb braking range), that is all i can think of at the moment.
  13. Hey, I am very interested in finding out what an n/a rb25de could make in power when tune. I know that n/a tuning is very pricery compare to a turbo (in the dollar for power value). Im interested in what would needed to be done to produce something like 250rwhp on an n.a rb25. Also would you beable to increase the rev limiter to something very high like 10,000rpm if you foucs on tuning the n/a side of the engine? (i found that n.a type engine have the characteristic to be able to rev higher for example i know the 4ag is able to produce nice power between the range of 7 to 11,000 rpm after tuning) The reason for the question is i fine that with turbo comes lot of problems and money issues (pinging etc). I dont plan on swaping anytime soon but interested if what it would cost to produce 250rwhp with a nice rev range in an n.a rb engine. cheers mike

  16. Hey, IM in perth my car is an r33 gts-t with cat-back exhuast (possible aftermarket front pipe) bov r34 gt-t cooler air-fitler could possible be the problem, anyway to check? (without taking it anywhere)
  17. hey, Today my car started making a ticking sound (loud, very audioable when driving) from the turbo side of the engine. It happen when on gas, fast, slow whenever i am on the gas i hear the sound, also if i put the foot down and go up into the rev range it sounds like its getting faster. It doesnt do it on idle, thou if i rev it it sounds to only make it around the 3/4000 rpm mark (the same spot my bov starts going off) Now with all this in mind, on monday, my Oil line from my turbo to engine blow (was rubber not metal -- dont ask me) now i lost 4L of oil, my mech replace the line with a stock metal rb line, refill with oil and the car was given the OK that everything was working Now from my limited knownage, i think it might be the turbo, its boosting fine and making power but it sounds like the ticking is related to the spinning of the turbo wheel (guess?) I will have the car check out on monday (or maybe 2morrow), But if i cant get it in 2morrow it will wreak my head in untill monday can anyone help thanks mike

  21. Hey I would like to say BIG (HUGE) THANKYOU to Ken and the boys at hyperdrive. Today my car was tottal ****, oil line from the turbo (i think) to the engine broke oil was everwhere (car had around 500mL of oil in it when it got to hyperdrive), and the through were engine was dead Ken fix the the problem (which was a ruber hose, inside of the metal line) replacing the *** houses with a stock metal line, new oil and in my books he and the boy SAVE MY CAR!!!! THANKYOU SOO MUCH, i can stress this enough you guys are the BEST!!! THANKYOU! mike
