  1. done a compression and leak down test on it? first things first, blowing the dipstick out is usually caused by excessive piston blow by so do a comp and leak down and see whats going on there before you do anything else..
  2. Pretty sure the Z-tune complies to the production requirements, which im pretty certain there only needs to be 5 cars produced for it to be consider a manufactured car, eg, theres only 5 odd skeltas, the rule actually stopped the skelta running a couple of years ago, as they had 5 cars in the build, but not finished and sold, and thus where not allowed to run that year.. given theres 20 z-tunes, it'd comply, if it has been banned, im guessing its more due to the power of it, as there are certain porka models which are also banned due to being to fast/powerful to be considered safe..

    Karting

10 meetings before you can run a rotax in seniors? aw man, here goes my plans for shits and giggles karting fun when i have some cash spare to buy one
  4. thats so far from a write off its not funny will cost a few grand to get fixed, but new rear 1/4's are buyable direct from nissan for 800 a throw, couple of guards and a bumper, lights, fixed.. but if you can afford to fix it, ill buy it off you and fix it myself
  5. i wouldn't be expecting change from 6k
  6. pm incomming, shoulda said something when i saw you tonight
  7. who ya know, not what paid off for me yesterday, i start driving dump trucks in two weeks, finally.. no more being a shit kickin fieldy for me
  8. cause 20k more is a 25% pay rise? seems like a good reason
  9. As mentioned, 60 minutes is full of shite.. I got into the mines last year, unqualified, but, it took me a fair wack of time to get in, after trying many agencies, and asking about work for the unqualified, and getting continual denials.. finally found a placement agency that dealt with geological stuff, field assistance and stuff like that, which is basically a entry level position, and finally got in.. As for stuff like getting on a truck, forget it, unless you know someone, or are in the right place at the right time, you won't get onto a dump truck without experience, ive been trying since i started in the mines, hopefully, one of those knowing the right person deals will pay of shortly and ill be on one and will then get the experience i need to go anywhere i want... There are companies that do training course, but expect to pay upwards of 3k, and it does not guantee you a job, there are companies, like QFS, www.qfsaustralia.com.au that offer 60k per yr driving a truck and they train you, butttt, 60k, is about 30k short of the average salary a dumpy driver earns.. even as a fieldy, you get on average, $250 a day, more for some companies or experience, which works out to 60+ a year... that said tho, once your into the industry, and get experience, getting another job is easy, and with time you get the contacts you need to move around to different sorts of jobs, expecting 100k straight up tho is a bit much, will take a while, a good operator will net 100k a year, but again, you need to get onto the machinery first to earn the money.. and definately go for FIFO work, rent in karratha for example is 1300 bucks a week on average, there are stories of people getting 3k a week as mining companies just snap up houses as they become available and pay the highest price to guantee they get it, with FIFO, you accom is covered, you get fed, and fed well, and transports someone elses problem, the only things you pay for, are booze and trivial things like choclate bars, and maybe stuff like washing powder etc, and you only need to wash your clothes, room cleaning is all sorted.. Excellent industry to be in, people are straight down the line, no bullshit, upfront and genuine people, and i don't see myself leaving it to go back to the likes of IT ever..
  10. yah, im disappointed the 32 is'n tocmming to show us what its made of, it looks awesome on the footage ive seen of it, even when its in the air over a barrier..
  11. Ill be crashing at the track sat night as im planning to hang around for tjhe sunday to watch some drift, and go for a trash if someone lends me a car for a bit of side-o action Franz got a drive offer too good to pass up, read everything sponsored just drive the car, so we're not teamed up this yr, was also an issue of the 33 possdibly not being ready, which given he bailed on doing it with me this yr is happening due to me adding a stack more stuff in.. but im co piloting a group n prepared wrx rally car, so i should be at the pointy end

  14. theres no difference between the chasis of a gts-r either 2 or 4 door than that of a gt-r, so yes the conversion is very straight forward
  15. mickey thompson or bf goodridge street legal semi slick drag tyre
  16. in short, new front chasis rails, new cross member, and a lot of panel work making it all fit plus the different motor to accomodate the 4wd sump, there are differences between RWD and AWD motors, plus a mountain of other crap to do can be done, but it won't be cheap
  17. pretty sure if the judge says 300 buck fine and nothing else, thats it he has to suspend your licence or give you points at the time i believe

  22. Im not entirely sure if it came from japan to WA, or elsewhere in aus first, i think it may have been an eastern state car before comming to WA, nathan/gt51r if he reads this might be able to clarify.. its a genuine veilside produced car tho, think there was 20 of them made, that add claims ten tho, i recall it being more, initially had a t78 on it, was swapped for the t88 and a tune was done at the time by aj at speedworks <no longer works there> not sure if its been tuned again since then, but is highly possible.. it swapped hands from nathan to someone else, who then sold it to autowhole sale, i think, last time i saw it, it was at c-red getting a new clutch... the price take is a bit silly, i seem to think it went for a lot less than that.. be a nice unique buy, but not for those bucks, given that im pretty sure the motor is internally standard...
  23. if it still has the box and flywheel attached you could run a compression test on it, just jury rig the starter motor to a battery and short the solenoid out so it cranks..
  24. you can use a rb26 power fc d jetro in a 33 gtst, just needs a bit of rewiring, and then you can use map sensor
