  1. thanks heaps for all of your input! i thought the letting it idle for about 60 sec then driving it under 3000rpms would be better for it as far as lubrication and stuff goes then just letting it sit for 5-10mins!! thanks
  2. Hey, Just wondering what everyone thinks is the best method to warming up your skyline before you start driving and cooling it down afterwoods. I have been given mixed information and just trying to clarify what is the correct one. Is it better to let the car warm up and cool down while it is parked ie: about 5 mins of running or would it be better to let it warm parked for about 60 secs then drive it normally for about 15 mins at around 3000rpms? any information is appreciated! thanks
  3. Hey guys, I have been having a stalling problem with my r33 and have been suggested various options. One of which is to install a HKS Electronic Idling Stabilizer. Has anyone installed one in their car? if so, is there any need to change from the stock ECU or to change any other parts? Can you just install the stabilizer and away you go? Any help would be much appreciated. Regards, Mich

  10. Hi, I have a R33 GTST and am looking into upgrading from the stock turbo. I was hoping some of you techincal minded people wouldnt mind giving me some tips, hints and recommendations on turbos and such. I want to be running about 20psi. No modifications have been done on the engine, I currently have a 3" stainless steel mandrel bent from the turbo exhaust system. Looking to spend around the $5k mark. any sugestions would be greatly appreciated. cheers, Michelle

  13. well if you expect us to have any pitty for you, i know i dont. by the sounds of things YOU are the exact type of person who has just ruined it for the rest of us who drive responsible. Maybe you should wake up to yourself and take responsibilities for your own actions and when you get a taste of your own medicine dont come crying - cause at the end of the day you are the one who got yourself in this position. Honestly i think it would be extremely rude for you to ask your friend to pay any of your fine. living in sydney there is public transport available, and you should have been responsible enough to say "hey man i got no licence sorry cant drive u home" You odvioulsy have NO RESPECT for the law - maybe when you grow some respect for the law and this society and the community in it, then maybe you can start questioning how unfair a punishment is - for something you have done. Thank you for being apart of the immature P Plate community and ruining it for those who arent immature and have respect for the law. Michelle
  14. Thats what i have wanted to know, i have been staring at my licence like an idiot trying to figure that one out myself, i dont think there is any way for them to know by just looking at your licence, but maybe if they do a detailed history/check on your licence it will display the date of issue? plus i think on the new licences issued after the 11th, it will have something in the conditions box on the back of your licence, like it has now with the zero blood alcohol limit. Thats just what i think anyways, anyone please feel free to correct me if i am wrong no matter what happens it doesnt change how much this new law sucks for us p plater turbo drivers
  15. sorry to RSTME - the other post between ours wasnt there when i was typing the post - should have quoted, my appologise
  16. lets see who has the last laugh if you have a crash in your skyline and kill two other people - but like you said they all deserve it so u must too
  17. do you feel better now?? i hope you feel like a real big man with these comments wake up to yourself fool
  18. has anyone actually seen the full details of this new law? i tried looking on rta site with no luck maybe im looking in the wrong places. if anyone has links to the details of the new law i would be very interested to seem them. what kind of fines and punishments will be in place if you are caught driving a turbo car??
  19. what i want to know is how they plan to implement and monitor this new law. what kind of fines will be given if you are caught driving a turbo car?
  20. and what if you are in your mid/late 20s/30's and your only just going for your p's and would like to drive a turbo car?? not all p platers are 17 and even the 17 and 18 year olds can still be responsible behind the wheel of a turbo car. I have never had any accident/crash, nor have i ever lost my licence for speeding or anything, i always drive safe and i am on my p's and i have a turbo car - why should i get punished too?? restricting driving turbo cars to those who have a good driving record could also work BAN LOW PERFORMANCE DRIVERS - NOT HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS
  21. and what if you are in your mid/late 20s/30's and your only just going for your p's and would like to drive a turbo car?? not all p platers are 17 and even the 17 and 18 year olds can still be responsible behind the wheel of a turbo car. I have never had any accident/crash, nor have i ever lost my licence for speeding or anything, i always drive safe and i am on my p's and i have a turbo car - why should i get punished too?? restricting driving turbo cars to those who have a good driving record could also work
  22. thank god!! but im still heaps pissed!!! my b/f has lost his licence for no p's when he gets it back - after july 11 do u think he will be effected?? i have seen statistics that show that more people kills themselves a year using a toaster or other kitchen/electrical equipment than they do in turbo cars- are they going to ban p platers from the kitchen too??
  23. and what about if where you live there are no buses at night? or you cant ride a bicycle due to health reasons?? i live on the central coast and public trasport is very scarce and riding a bike is just not an option for me, as well as being unsafe to do so at night (so many dodgy people in the gosford area, being a girl on a bike at night you are asking for trouble) I work all day nearly everyday, and i work hard, the last thing i want to do when i finish work is catch a bus or ride a bike, after all i had done that for years before i could get my licence... so now i have my licence i should still ride a bike like a god damn 10 year old!! I think everyone should stop being so discrimative against young drivers, it is complety unfair. If someone wants to drive a turbo car, they should be trained in the appropriate manner on how to handle the power and how to drive safetly, the majoirity of accidents is from speed, or loosing control of the car... why is that? maybe because the "young stupid p platers" are not being educated in the right areas. It comes down to personal responsibility. I will agree with banning p platers from driving turbo cars if they have lost their licence numerous times for reckless driving or speeding.... but what about those of us who drive safe and dont speed?? it is unfair! It really gets to me because nearly my whole life there has been some kind of discrimnation surrounding me just because i am young, just because i am female, and this has just toped the cake!! I get discriminated agaist being a female and driving a turbo car for one - apparently girls cant handle the power and shouldnt be driving them - thats just one example there are plenty more! so this has really hit a nerve with me! i have just been informed the new rule will only affect new p platers... apparently (details still sketchy) you are safe if you already have your p's and a turbo car, just preventing people from just getting their p's driving turbo cars.
