  1. Failed a regency visit recently for a few minor things, anyway I had my car booked into the mechanics today to get my $120 worth of wheel bearings (cbf doing them myself) and $50 worth of child seat anchor points installed, spent $50 on a permit to drive it there as well. 10 mins after I drop it off I get a call "Your car already has child seat anchor points, also your wheel bearings are fine it is just a $40 HICAS arm thats stuffed". Pretty bloody annoyed, you'd think regency would make sure before writing these things on the notice that you do in fact not have them. Could have had it on the road a month ago as the HICAS arm is a piece of piss to replace, not to mention the wheel bearings and anchor points I now have to sell second hand. Anyone else had an experience like this? I will be writing a written complain to them about it after I get my car passed, would send it before but I don't want to step on any toes before it gets regod. Is it likely I will get anything other than a mild apology?
  2. I'm just trying to swap a single hicas tie rod (ball joint is shagged) so I can pass regency. To just replace one do I need to take the boots off both side and lock a shifter on one side so that it doesn't spin when I undo the other side? Because I tried just undoing one side and it cracked but just keeps turning, it is however quite hard to turn (needs both arms) but it doesn't appear to be loosening off. Just want to know before I go out and buy a second shifter. Cheers.
  3. A full tune including installation of the nistune unit would set you back around $800 I imagine, your mods aren't too extreme so they could start with a base map and go from there saving on tuning time. I'm sure you could get it cheaper but with tuning cheaper does not mean better, you are almost always better off spending the extra at a reputable tuner who does nistune ECUs regularly. I think Dr. Drift in VIC is meant to be one of the better tuners for nistune, though anyone feel free to correct me.
  4. Are these a forged rim? If so do you know how much they weigh?
  5. That dyno does look quite laggy for only 470hp. I would be expecting 600+ for that sort of lag especially when its loaded up on a dyno, on the street is going to be even worse.

  8. Hey boys. Went for a spin in an R32 with the sydney kid setup tonight, was a very very nice ride, surprised by how soft and cruisy it felt over bumps and on the street. The turn in and handling was very impressive as well, would have to say it definitely rivals the teins and with a better ride. Now I have run into an issue, the part numbers for the bilstein shocks and the dampening rates are not to be found anywhere in the old group buy thread, and it appears sydney kid is no longer active on these forums. Would anyone here know these values or where I could find them out? Same goes for the spring rates etc, I can most likely get these fairly quickly but if I have anyone here to double check them with that would be tops. Would very much appreciate it. Cheers guys
  9. My oil pump was leaking after a rebuild ever so slightly, just covered the edges in high temp gasket sealant. Hasn't leaked a drop in 4,000kms since.
  10. It needs to have a full emissions test which is expensive and often hard to meet. You also often need upgraded brakes and various other things which will need an engineers report etc. You would be looking at a few thousand dollars to get it all signed off and road legal.
  11. There was a defect inspection going on next to me and it was identical, they even used the same forms. I had changed my engine and upgraded brakes though so they used the brake dyno and drove it around the block, perhaps that was what the extra cost was. I had heard the price had gone up recently though so I thought that was just the going rate for a full roadworthy, or perhaps a defect inspection is not classed as a 'full roadworthy'. So yeah maybe it was $143 + extra? Best bet it to call and confirm, take you 5 minutes.
  12. That is what I just paid, I've got the receipt if you want to see it. Full road worthy inspection, same as a defect as far as I know.
  13. $214 for first inspection. $71 for 2nd.
  14. Just cut the wires and tap them off. 5 minute job to reinstall it.
  15. Yep if you did no correction and just made sure it was linear in the range used from 0-5v it would still be very easy to tune. Ah so many ideas and so little time. Need to get my car running and buy a decent oscilloscope so I can finish the VCT controller I've been carrying on about.
  16. If someone was to make a map sensor replacement module for the nistune/stock ecu would there be much interest in something like this? It can certainly be built but if theres no interest I won't bother researching it.
  17. Yeah bilstein setup is looking more like $1400 for the lot including camber kit, sway bars etc however after talking to a few people I am convinced it is the better setup. I am going to go for a drive in a car with the sydneykid setup in it and compare it to my mates teins. It is a daily driver so I would prefer a soft setup with rollbars to counter the roll instead of stiff springs.
  18. Also what the f**k is this flood control bullshit, this along with the post editing being disallowed are the most retarded features ever, no other website has them and if they do they have reasonable ranges. Eg you can't post within 5 seconds, not 30 and editing is only disabled in the trading forums.
  19. You fixed the images but now when I press quote I don't have a cursor rofl.
