  1. Well done! As I said in the PM, I knew it was going to happen and I was so pissed that I couldn't be there to see it. cheers PS; I am surprised that they let you keep running. What happened to the one 10 = goodbye? Are they going soft?
  2. Springs and shocks are less than 50% of what goes into making an R33GTST ride nicely and handle great. Please don't ignore the alignment and geometry issues as you will end up with rapid tyre wear and poor handling. Take a good look at the comments and suggestion on the Group Buy thread ; http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85467 If you have any specific questions please post them up and I will do my best to answer them. cheers PS; be aware that the KYB shocks are replacement for standard shocks, not heavy duty for increased spring rates or sufficiently valved for sports handling.
  3. To stop people simplistically copying the kits, I have slipped in the odd twist. You have the right stabiliser bars, as was confirmed via PM at the time of ordering I recommend 355 mm front and 345 mm rear, which are the standard grooves (the Bilstein are shipped with the circlips in the standard grooves). I don't recommend 331 mm front 321 mm rear, as it is too low for good ride and handling. If you want it that low for looks then that is 3 circlip grooves lower than standard. Each circlip groove is 8mm from the next groove. Hope that helps Cheers
  4. Thee are no such things as dumb questions. Simplistically there are 7 sets of valves, 3 for rebound and 4 for bump. Rebound There is a valve set for controlling low frequency rebound There is a valve set for medium velocity There is another valve set for high frequency rebound Bump There is a valve set for controlling low frequency bump There is a valve set for medium velocity There is another valve set for high frequency bump There is a single valve for grosse dump Some of the changes to the valving in the Group Buy are to make it stiffer in certain areas and some of changes are to make it softer. Generally speaking what I have done is to soften the high frequency for small ripples, bumps, joins etc. And incease the low frequency to control the springs and the stabiliser bars. The idea is to give a sporty, but not harsh ride and great handling. The reports coming back from the guys on the various Group Buys indicate that I have been reasonably successful in achieving that. cheers
  5. Sorry they won't fit. Try the Group Buy on R34GTT Suspension. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=88141 cheers
  6. I don't think so, Jamex only did this Group Buy on the basis that is was a kit, including shocks. So when the Bilsteins are all gone, these Group Buys will stop. I may be able to convince Jamex to open up new Group Buys, but I am not sure that they will want to. cheers
  7. Hi Guys some questions, which I will do my best to answer; * The circlip is in the standard groove when the shocks are shipped from Bilstein. * The Whiteline springs should be lightly trapped. * You will need spring compressors on the standard springs as they have a lot of preload, about 300 lbs per inch. So don't just undo the shock nut, stuff will hit you at very high velocity. Hope that helps Cheers
  8. This is an R33GTST Group Buy so the Bilstein are R33GTST ones with modified valving (to suite the other parts in the kit) and extra circlip grooves (to enable height adjustment). cheers
  9. Simple, the V8's are 2wd and there are plenty of 4wd turbos to choose from. I am not sure what you mean by "give it a shake", the V8's do all right on most circuits. Count the top 5 positions around the country at the various circuits and you might be surprised. Don't give me the BP versus PP BS, the power increase would be not substantial as the noise restrictions are a problem for the PP's. Certainly not double the power like we are talking about with restrictors. Remember we have arguably the #1 RX7 in the country in our team, certainly the #1 in 2005 in NSW and Vic. They don't have a weight limt, so why would you want to change the rules for them? I never mentioned EM turbo cars, they do OK with what they have. That's bit naive of you to think that the settings don't transfer over to Combined Touring. Plus SSS and Croydons are currently building a couple of IPGtR's , based on the success this year of#50. That's not what you asked..... I selected the last race of the season becuase that's the current state. As you well know lap times are affected by traffic, and the restrictors effect on top speed (what they were designed for in WRC) makes it hard to get traffic free times. So you watch it on TV and suddenly you are an expert. Oran Park Jun meeting, fastest lap on lap 6; 50 Dave Loftus 1:23.4890 1:19.5370 1:19.1121 1:19.4040 1:20.3979 1:19.1071 1:19.8116 1:20.1272 Would you like another 10 examples? Sure it got better as the season progressed, what do you expect? We sit around twiddling our thumbs? We put our credability on the line 17 times a year for all to see. Keyboard warriors can sort themselves out. Shoot you really do have short memory, don't you? I could quote you a number of times (Porsches & V8 SuperCars with 7 degrees, front tyres going off, lap times dropping away, blah blah blah), but frankly we have strayed a long way from the topic of this thread. cheers
  10. Should we run a guessing contest? Winner gets.....well something worthwhile. I reckon 6 things to guess, the one that gets the most right wins; Engine; My guess is 3.0 to 3.6 litre V6 with 2 X turbos Power; 300 kw (+ or - 10%) Gearbox; 6 speed manual Drive; 4wd Body; Aluminium bonnet, guards, suspension arms, boot and doors, Carbon fibre front and rear spoiler & diffuser, air deflector and some internals trim pieces Price; Between Yen 6,000,000 and Yen 7,000,000 for the basic (race spec, stipper) and between Yen 7,000,000 and Yen 8,000,000 for the all the fruit version. Should we have a go? cheers
  11. Since I have both 4wd (Stagea) and 2wd (R32GTST) I had trouble with the simplistic voting. I would have 4wd for the road, because it rains. I would have 2wd for the track, because 4wd costs too much, lots of extra weight (150 kgs) to overcome, bigger brakes to stop the extra weight. more power for the same power to weight ratio etc etc cheers
  12. A little bit to add to; We have used Carrillo H Beam rods for 950 bhp, with a max of 8,500 rpm. That is using a full billet aluminium block girdle. Argo make both I Beam and H Beam, we tend to use I Beam as they will tolerate a bit more contact than the H Beam. We are up to 750 bhp and 8,000 rpm with them, not using a block girdle. We have used Eagle H Beams, mostly in circuit race engines up to 650 bhp. Not had a problem, they service nicely after a full season of racing. My suggestions, pay the extra and use Carrillos. You will have more than enough other stuff to worry about, so crossing off the rods is a good start. cheers
  13. I have never used the Apexi software so I can't speak for it. The Datalogit software has no password, just tick the protection boxes. This is the relevant page from the Datalogit; As you can see no password. cheers
  14. Quick summary; 1. SARDS are made for 1JZ/2JZ, so they need adaptor collars to fit RB25's and SR20's 2. Nismos are made for RB25's and SR20's, so they don't need adaptors 3. Aus spec SR20DET injectors are same size as RB25's (ie; 370 cc's). JDM S15 SR20DET auto injectors are also the same. 4. JDM S15 SR20DET manual injectors are rated 444 cc's, although they seem to flow a bit more than that. 5. All of the injector flow rates are at standard fuel pressure iee; 36-38 psi Hope that helps cheers
  15. Few suggestions; 1. If it isn't warming up then it is always on cold run enrichment. So either you don't drive far enough for it to warm up or the water temp sensor is not working. I would check that. 2. Low speed, constant throttle and idle is at stoick because it runs in closed loop. Have you ever replaced the lambda sensor? Or checked that is is in fact running closed loop A/F ratios when it should be? 3. 12.9 to 1 is not a very safe A/F ratio, neither of the above 2 problems are fixed by further leaning out. But you are already in dangerous territory. 4. Are you sure about the accuracy of the A/F ratio meter you are using? Standard is 10.5 to one and I have never heard of a standard Skyline fouling plugs. 5. Since you have not reported any missing under load, I don't believe coil packs are an issue. 6. What heat range plugs are you running? The NGK "7" heat range should be fine. Hope that was of some help cheers
  16. Ah no, you don't know where the ignition timing is now so you can't put it back to where it was. If you put the CAS back in the same postion with the exhaust camshaft retarded say 4 degrees, then the igntion timing will be retarded 4 degrees as well. This is not really a problem, just remembr to set the ignition timing as soon as the engine is running. cheerrs
  17. Quick update on stock, there are 4 sets of Bilsteins left for this model. When they are gone the Group Buy will have to finish. So don't hesitate too long or you will miss out. cheers
  18. There are only 6 sets of Bilsteins left for this model, when they are gone the Group Buy will finish. So don't wait too long as they will be gone very quickly. cheers
  19. Bistein have found a few sets of R32GTR in stock in Europe, so they are airfreighting them to Australia. The good news is we will be able to keep the Group Buy open for this modle for a litte longer. But don't wait to long, it is only a handfull of shocks. cheers
  20. PM responded to, there are currently 2 sets of Bilsteins in stock for this model. So don't wait too long or they will be gone. cheers
  21. Quick update, 2 sets sold, so there are 2 sets in stock. cheers
  22. There is a Group Buy for each Skyline model, this is the one for R33GTST's http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=85467 If you need any further detail please let me know and I will do my best to help. cheers
