  1. As I said in the other thread... If my car's back on the road *crosses fingers*, I'll be there with bells on... Blah about what the missus says, she should be at home with dinner ready for you when you get home! *ducks* matt

    Night cruise

They're also really cracking down on modified cars by defecting every little piece of aftermarket gear on your car. Probably an idea to stay as far away from the city as possible. I'll hopefully have my car back this weekend, so I wouldn't mind going out for a bit of a fang. matt
  3. Is the e-manage a full ecu or just a interceptor? matt
  4. When I put the Z32 afm on my car, it ran bulk rich... All the way from idle to redline... This is not just full throttle, but part throttle too, so unless you've got a full ecu to take advantage of that, you'll probably find that your economy will go to *****. Obviously you'll be able to tune your full throttle with teh afc, but part throttle won't work. The actual diameter of the AFM between the RB25 and the Z32 afm's are both 80mm, so you're not going to have any less restriction by moving up to the z32. matt
  5. When you say a fair bit of shredded metal, how much are we talking... The reason I ask, is because the gearbox plug is magnetised, and as such all the metal shards tend to stick to it. It's not necessary a sign that your box is on the way out, just general wear and tear! matt
  6. Re: Calder - Nahh - the only way I'm going to get decent times at calder is if I bolt up some slicks... Doing that, I'll probably destroy either my clutch or gearbox Ice180's car? No contest ... It was pulled back to stock to be sold last i heard. matt
  7. LOL - Yeah, whilst racing an LS1 as a matter of fact But you'll be happy to know that even with the stuffed turbo i still out accelerated him! Yeah, no wing as I haven't had the car on the road to get it done... She's been out of action for about 7 weeks matt
  8. Nahh - 300rwkw was plenty enough for me (especially seeing as it was a genuine power figure, not a inflated one)... The turbo let go (due to the TD07 being a fairly pissweak turbo) and the compressor wheel destroyed itself into the housing... So I didn't really have much choice in the matter matt
  9. Yeah, but with 20psi, I'll bet it went well matt
  10. Traction? Not till 4th gear mate matt
  11. Re: Turbo... Something slightly bigger... Say... T76? Should be back on the road any day now... I'll put up some power figures when I get her back. matt
  12. Michael, I had a VG30 on my car (R33 GTS25-t), and it didn't make any more peak power, however, it did have a stronger mid range. I wouldn't bother upgrading to a VG30 from the RB25 turbo unless you've damaged your current turbo. Your best bet is to grab a larger T4 turbo if you want to see some real gains. If you can pick up a high flowed VG30, they seem to be capable of around 200ish rwkw (I managed 206) at about 1 bar. matt
  13. Bloody dandin... Tell him to move back to melbourne! FYI - Anyone who's interested, it's a very neat car, goes very quick too. I think it ran a 13.1? @ calder last year before the motor build + new gearbox + clutch. matt
  14. Saw one on Friday in Melbourne with trade plates on it... It's been out in the USA for a while now... matt
  15. Not at all, I've got a larger turbo than that... If you do decide to go larger, you just have to look at fabricating a new exhaust manifold, or have an adapter plate made so that you can fit the new manifold flange. You'll also find that the dump and intake sides are both different too, so new piping will probably need to be made up on either side. matt
  16. Good stuff! Some bigger injectors, a metal head gasket, and some more boost, and you'll be up there with me matt
  17. See the thing is tho, now your car has more power, it needs more maintenance matt
  18. Yeah - I can tell you for a fact that 300rwkw spins the wheels to the top of 3rd.... 4th gear has traction tho... matt
  19. Yeah - That RPM place seems to be quite good from what I've heard. probably won't be for a couple of months yet, I need bigger brakes before I look at making the car go faster matt
  20. Alright - I'll see what he says. Split pulse... Same deal as the screamer pipe, except it's joined back into the system further down the pipe. It's supposed to decrease turbulence, but I don't know if it'd make that much difference to be worth the extra $$$ they charge for it. matt
  21. Meggala, From experience, at Frankston TAFE dyno, the most I could make on my car was about 184kw at the wheels (I think - I had a unichip at the time) - another car with the same turbo and similar mods (except powerfc I think) made another 5rwkw... Thing is, that dyno's known to be optimistic by about 5-7%. It's easy to have a dyno 200rwkw, but I'd rather have a REAL 200rwkw. matt
  22. I think Ben made Dino's one (split pulse, not screamer), I can find out if you're interested... matt
  23. I wouldn't waste your time buying a VG30 to high flow! While it'll make 200rwkw (mine did @ 14psi on a R33), you're better off just buying a turbo that'll do the job to start with! It'll end up costing you the same... Just get yourself a decent Garret GT2535 and you'll be laughing. Even a T3/4 combo... If you can get your hands on a VG30 which has already been high-flowed then go for your life. matt
  24. Well depending on how far down the dump pipe the connector is, you'd possibly get less turbulance with the screamer... I doubt there'd be a noticable difference in power between the two, although I'm sure you'd think it was faster because of all the extra noise If you doing mind a bit of noise they're cool as... But don't expect to be able to floor it wherever you go... Stealth is not an option matt
