    Fcking Ants

yeh surface spray around the bottom of the tyres works well (near, not on them) Homebrand type cheapest possible surface spray around window frames will keep spiders out for at least 3 months.. its the most toxic crap tho, wear a mask.. I spray it on the vents and manholes etc too Alternatively you could throw some ant sand on the ground
  14. Cruises aren't the ONLY thing members are interested in... and most financial members that adhere to our rules are not overly interested in going to krispy kreme type meets (not really a cruise imo anyway). There's some very good reasons why our meets/cruises are run different to NS type meets. Anyway I don't want to get into an hour long argument about that. Organising a cruise also involves going on the 4-5 hr trip beforehand to check out the roads/route (and its probably longer than that). Plus admin stuff for the cruises, insurance and so forth. And being an events co-ordinator, is not just a couple of hours every Fri night. It's easy to be critical when you aren't in the position yourself and you don't really understand what's happening behind the scenes. To be on general committee you need to be able to get along with the rest of the committee, set a good example to other members, uphold the values of the club, do the right thing by the members and enforce the rules so noone ruins it for the rest of us. If you are serious about being on general committee, rather than trying to rally support of the members, I would suggest you perhaps send a brief email to the exec committee ([email protected]) stating your interest and what help you can bring to the club/committee. Its likely some of the current exec committee will be in those positions again this year.
  15. if you find a trader that sells them, can you please let me know?? Been looking for one for ages (but not very hard admittedly!) Cheers! Kaz
  16. Hi guys, if anyone has an AFM suitable for rb20det please let me know. Must be in good working condition with good mesh etc. I already have a couple but one is causing stalling, so clearly I don't want another faulty AFM. Can pickup in VIC or need postage to 3076. Please let me know price/location/condition. Will pay cash or happy to swap for parts, let me know what you're after You can email any pics/details to address in sig Cheers Kaz
  17. haha you're funny.. Here's the difference: http://www.321dogs.com/pictures/alaskan_ma...wallpaper_2.jpg that husky is probably on the larger side of huskys too malamutes are more like bears with even thicker legs again malamutes dont generally get along with anyone else, malamutes, other dogs or cats.. There was a beautiful malamute across the street that managed to grab the neighbours little runty maltese through a hole in the fence.. so she was put down Actually a husky will eat less than a dog of comparable size because they are made to live on a small amount of food in the wild.. theyre supposed to eat about 80% decent dry food and a small amount of wet food. If you feed them a normal amount like a german shepherd then they will get fat which is really bad for them. Also if you don't exercise them much then they need less food because they don't need as much energy You don't need to buy some $100 for 18kg dry food tho... There is a brand called Bonnie that is err... I think $30/40 for 20kg of dry food which is full of vitamins etc & is comparable to the more expensive brands and much much better than anything in the supermarket
  18. the kennel is missing more wood since that photo (make sure u use untreated wood for kennels)
  19. http://www.winterpaws.com.au/vic.htm Actually I have 2.. Dante and Amber. They keep each other company and thanks to a friends mutt.. they now tongue each other regularly.. very cute together tho. They never really fight, tho there is the odd carry on and Amber is a bit protective of her food. Huskies and Malamutes frequently need to be chained up separately to eat their food. In fact I know some people that have a whole sled team of Malamutes and they are all separate at all times. Huskies usually get along a bit better than that though and are frequently found in pairs. If you are going to be working alot and leaving it alone then you really must get a second dog. If you dont then you will get all the problems of chewing everything and constantly trying to escape. Doesn't necessarily have to be a Husky but they like to chase small animals like cats.. so a Chihuahua might not be the best idea. They love to dig, especially if there's a tasty bit of moss growing in the dirt, they then fight over who gets to dig.. so there's a few holes in the backyard. You will need to have a secure yard with an 8ft fence, as they have very springy elephant trunk legs.. and possibly need to put in some mesh under your fence to stop them from digging under and getting out. They have no roadsense whatsoever, and are freq stolen so once they are out it's likely you won't see them again. They are born to pull, so it's been hard training them to walk, but then you can do fun things like take them to the snow and go in sledding and weight pulling races. Purebred huskies dont normally shed all year (like a labrador for eg), they shed in big clumps a couple of times a year when they lose their undercoat, usually before and after summer. They totally get into everything as puppies, but now they are getting older they are much better. When they were little you couldn't leave anything out.. pot plants, tools, bbq cover, garden lights, hose.. At this point I can never let them off the leash outside, they will probably run off to find ducks or a cat to eat. Amber was very proud to catch her first bird a couple of months ago.. a huge freakin crow! eww Previous to that I had pet pigeons.. about 25 of them :\ that would visit daily to eat the dog biccies... Anyway cbf typing anymore.. I love them to death but now that i have them, it would be easier to get a miniature husky or an alaskan klee kai or a spitz (except the spitz are yappers) They really need to go for runs or long walks but you can get rollerskates or get/make a scooter like here: http://www.windchill.com.au/scooters&carts.htm If you have more questions let me know. If you get a husky make sure the parents have been checked for hip dysplasia (you want to see it in writing) and get one from a registered breeder, they have a much better temperament than a cross or mutt. http://www.siberianhuskyvic.org.au/breed/ Cheers Kaz
