  1. wrecked head i am interested in gettin some if your mate can make more there is a market as three of my friends and myself want them due to our power steerin pulleys always slipping when doin track days and hill climb event very annoying mid corner and for a split second no power steer.. what parts does your friend make is it a slip on or does it replace the harmocic balancer??? let me know please.
  2. no fmic's are alloy so thats cool... but if the piping is mild steel it will rust due to the fact the surface is really clean and the oxygen can get to the metal easily and start the reaction known as rust... like i said paint them silver will look nice trust me... you could polish them then get them anodised clear but whats the poin at the price you could have new ones made from stainless!!
  3. well i know from driving both that my datsun 1000 at around 80km without locking the brakes, will stop alot faster than my r32 GTR will, and this thing has front drums, try and back up and do it again or do it from a faster speed and the tires are just to sh.ity and the brakes arent up to the task.... the datsun 1000= 629kg, GTR= 1474kg....
  4. that looks like mild steel and as ylwgtr2 says it will rust!! smooth it and 2pak it silver will look just as nice.
  5. So why is spendin 600+ on bigger afms say for a gtr to change to 80mm z32 items seen as so much more practicle than just putting in a temp sensor for a map drivin ecu??? The way i look at it is: 1650 for a new pfc, then 500 for hand controler, then 600+ for new afms.. when a map based car needs ecu (microtech for example), 1500, 3 bar map sensor 195, temp sensor 78.. I'm not baggin either personally i want the pfc for my car but im tired of the arguement that a temp sensor or sacrificing 5 kw on a really cold nite is such a detramental blow to a map ecu, in hind sight its really no different to having to upgrade afms for more tuning resolution to me thats a downfall too. 67mm x 2 on a gtr is not a restriction it just runs out of tuning ability.
  6. mate i think you shoul put this in the parts for sale section it would go alot better..love to buy but cant good luck
  7. might be interested in rollcage for right price in a 2months or so if you can wait i can buy!! well done id like to chat with you about the whole 15 years thing one nite my bro is interested so youll have to met up with a few of the boys one nite!!
  8. there is a company here that make that haltech a piggy back plug and play computer so no need to splice wires and so forth. the adapters and plugs and so forth are $380 aud and you can also get the software from the same place. heres the web address www.justenginemanagement.com hope this helps
  9. heres my intercooler piping after i polished it today.
  10. im interested in the power fc let me know also im in canberra can pick it up weekend of the 5th of march as i will be in sydney
  11. yeah i dont think 28psi is a good idea for me as i have stock internals and stock cams, retainers and basically all stock long motor.
  12. kamakazie- im looking at around 22- 24 psi, this should be light work as the turbo is claimed from hks to be efficient to 32psi put that was in originall form with the huge rear housing!! Roy: yes im goin to have it hpc'd eventually just not right now i cant afford it at the moment due to saving for a power fc. cheers all
  13. its a hks t45s, however stock those turbos came with a 1.12 ar rear housing which is far to big so i downsized it to a .87 ar, and i also had it machined to take a 70mm h trim garrett wheel instead of the 66mm ones they come with... just trying to make it more responsive yet have a good top end. it was a real dog when i got the car the log manifold that the kit came with was cast and had a small leak, and the turbo with the larger housing never saw boost untill 6000rpm and then we couldnt get more than 13psi from it due to the exhaust leak..
  14. yeah when i read steves thread i got all scared and worried thats why im still unsure to the success i will have, not long now and we can see, SK thanks for the info, i know its true ive spent time and effort on this part i need to get all the auxilary systems up to the same standard... i always had plans of getting a powerfc (nearly ordered one last week), but lately i have heard lots of good things about haltech. i have used them before the only worrying factor is that they have never been widely used on gtr's theres only one gtr that uses one its in NZ..the ecu itself has stand out features so im unsure as what to do...
  15. thanks for the replies, i never really thought of the firing order, i cant see it as being paramount as you can use log manifolds and such with success on turbo cars, as this is what hks originally supplied with the t45s kit... any thoughts appreciated ROY; yeah its all made from mandrel bends but the welds were polished out were the bends joined..
  16. i cant seem to get the close up foto to work it says upload errors
  17. heres a pic of my new highmount manifold made from 316 stainless, it was designed and made from scratch and i think it turned out Quite well, the wastegate pipes still arent on... hopefully the design shall prove successfull and the car can run some good numbers.. on the subject what is the generall conscensese about how far the stock gtr ecu can go.. i have had mine remapped to suite 550cc injectors, but i still have stock afm's... i personally think this should suffice to aroun 320rwkw and thoughts?? cheers all..
  18. i use a type r they are great just dont expect to do little image psshhhttt's past people as u need to see at least 14 psi to get the things working, which is good im just warning the ricers out there!!
  19. i have two 910s externally mounted and the stock gtr pump feeds the surge tanks then i have a seperate line for each pump, works well i agree and so do the guys that sell the pumps they are meant to be externall however you can use them internally.. i ll post pics when i get the car back!!
  20. your in canberra rite??? im overseas at the moment, its a long shot but if this is still available in 3 weeks im willing to take it off your hands can place a deposit on it before hand. pm me your number if you are interested
  21. r32 gtr, hks t51 turbo, hks 48mm wastegate, 12 psi, 228rwkw. needs more boost obviously.
  22. im in italy at the moment, i have been here 5 months and in europe diesel is king.. think of any car we have in australia that isnt oz made and i can tell you that in europe its a diesel, eg.. Astras, barinas, peugots, alfas. im hiring a car a deawoo matiz 900c turbo diesel over the chrissy break!!! its strange when you first arrive everything sounds like a truck (according to my gfriend)hhaha. theres a car yard down the road with a brand new 328 bmw for sale for 26 000 euros which is about $42000.. its due to the fact its a diesel, and beemers are cheaper left hand drive.... the equivilent in petrol i was told by the guy is 51, 000 euros nearly double!!! Diesel is a cheaper fuel, the engines are cheaper to maintain and produce and the economy is rediculously good, theres the main reasons why diesel is an advantage.. plus you get some of the sweetest spool up noises out some of the turbo deisels over here!!
