  1. i have seen this problem alt with high flows.. has to be a turbine back pressure issue. so a big stiff wastegate is the only option.
  2. yes, but why do most rb20's take alot longer to start compared to a 25 or 26?
  3. a bog stock 26 has oil surge straight off the bat. on a flat line with a good stat, not a launch, it surges.. you just need a good oil pressure guage and you can see. 1 litre over full is about rite, or, as soon as you turn the car off, dip it and make sure its on the hump above the full mark.
  4. what is the solution used in the "hot tank" also the cold tank? trying to buy some for work, but cant find out what they are called...
  5. would be good if the hdi clamps came in common -an sizes... like -12an and up..
  6. as far as im aware. no one has yet to copy the ball bearing side of things yet... if its ball bearing then id say its real..
  7. those are f40. f50 doesnt wrap around the disk as much. ps. you can also use a "wide face" 355mm disc used by holden i think, in a 2 piece disc hat combo but using a custon hat.and use evo/sti pads for a much wider pad area
  8. yes. just mesure the inside. if it on 32mm its 33 or more like 34mm. its 32
  9. well i just bought a full set. 50 bucks. the broom man. not the brush man. 3x1/4" 3x5/16" 1x5/8"long and a 4" bore brush. he makes them all, and to any size. no website but. The Broom Man 10 Campbell Rd, Kenthurst, NSW 2156 p: 02 9654 9065 f: 02 9654 9065
  10. the 25 pistons sit lower in the bore due to the differant pin height.
  11. ive seen close to 400kw with a gt42 on a slapper. but no idea on reliability
  12. top hose outlet. nissan will be able to get it
  13. $120 fron nissan for a rb20 one. unbolt your oil cooler/filter housing and bolt the 20 one in its place. use a z418 filter, not the genuine nissan 145 as you no longer have a relief valve. (rb20 has it on the block, where as rb25/26 has that part blocked off and instead has them in the oil cooler/filter housing) if you are using a remote filter, put the oil pressure sensor in it there, and lengthen the wiring to it. if not then use the 1/8 npt port to the rear of where the filter/cooler housing bolts on to the engine. (at about cylinder 5 along the block) nismo has a replacement housing, but its like $1000. it has 2 -12an fittings where the cooler sits. also nismo has a oil cooler kit, said housing, with a custom aircon condensor with a 25 row oil cooler integrated into it. i have one in my garage. i had the brocher for it but i lost it. was an option for the aussie deliverd ones.
  14. very good point. i hadnt thought of it that way. 9:1 is is the new 8:1.
  15. stagea one is better. no cooler or should i say warmer... ideal for a relocator conversion. but the new ones are all aluminuim. early ones (one of a motor) has a steel thread. or if you want a rb20 one is better again. but straight out of the block, not angled. new ones have a steel thread. but you have to use a toyota filter (z418) or any with a relief valve in it)
  16. im pretty sure the latest di bmw's are around 11:1 9:1 seems to be at the lower end of the scale for factory turbo cars with mpfi.
  17. at the end of the day, a engine with a higher comp will be more eficant. better off boost and run cooler under light load.
  18. thats the purge line for the charcol canister. not a vac line. the hose under that (6mm one) that goes onto a pipe that runs behind the timing cover is.
  19. just dont put a massive tb on it. 75mm max. waste of time going any bigger than the piping. all that will happen is loss of torque at light throttle and down low.
  20. why not just use -5's instead of -9's. why screw 20+psi out of -9's and have limited to end. when you can run less boost on -5's and have more top end to the same hp i dont know about you guys but i dont dribble around the track at 3000rpm.... and in contrast instead of just breaking loose when it hits boost the extra (minimal) lag of the -5's will make for a smoother corner exit. and if you can have 600hp for the same price as 500hp... why not!!
  21. head decking only to get a new gasket surface. not to raise comp. ie its not a red motor....
  22. e85 with the 13cc aries would be a nice option. couple that with some little combustion chamber mods and the comp will come down to 9.5 or lower.
  23. no worries. why do you need to know? oh, 1,1/4 steam pipe is near on aswell. (internal size)
  24. so should i get one for my ppg or not? with the corect ignition cut it shouldnt have any problems? and i see on there website they make a dog engagment 71c 5 speed and use there shifter on it.
