Seems the whole motoring world is obsessed with the 'ring, but I don't get it. The scenery is boring, track is bumpy and covered with graph. Anyone'd be forgiven for thinking it ran through some blackforest ghetto. GT4 cured me of any desire to go there for real.

The slave is bolted to the right-hand side of the gearbox, but it's unlikely to be making a noise (It would probably have dropped all the brake/clutch fluid if it was). The clutch throw-out fork goes through the side of the 'box there so that could be it (might not be a simple fix, and its not advisable to spray lubricants though the hole, for obvious reasons). Try hitting the joints and linkages in the pedal box with some spray grease first. Otherwise, check with a bolty.

As people have mentioned, the hydraulics (clutch slave cylinder) can go, which will prevent the clutch plate(s) from disengaging (mine started to leak, and I had to pump the clutch to change gear). New slave cyls are fairly cheap. Check the reservoir (next to the brake booster), to see if it has fluid. Its either that, or a mechanical problem with the pressure plate or possibly actuator fork.

Seems JETR32 has lost interest anyway.

Can you even get (decent) after market diffs to fit R200 housings that have ratios below 4.111? Auto diffs are usually taller (ie. numerically lower ratio), but I'm just taking a stab in the dark here. Anyone?

Will probably only drop 300-400 rpm with the 6er anyway, as the ratios on 2, 3, 4 and 5 are a lot tighter, with 6th being similar to 5th on the earlier boxes.

So it is all ready manual, not 4-speed auto?. If so, you must mean R34 6-speed, as the R32s where only 5-speed. Why not just use a 33 GTS-T box, which would be much easier. But if your heart is set on a 6-speed, you could buy one of the HKS 6-cog gear clusters, which would probably work out about the same price as trying to get the Getrag box out of a BNR34 (not including labour here), while being stronger to boot too. As for the gearbox itself- just have any un-necessary parts removed from the attesa clutch pack and plug up the holes. I've never seen anyone try to cut it off the side of the 'box or any similar mod.

Hey Stan, you could have a problem with the 'thermistor' in the air handling unit under the dash. This tells the climate control module when to cut the a/c pump in and out. Although your car being an R34, its unlikely to be faulty unless someones fiddled with it at some stage. But like they say- weird sh#t happens. My 32 GT-R was gas converted at the same place as Steves and Phil found out someone had put the temperature reader (thermistor) in the wrong place at some stage, and it was faulty, so he wired in a Falcon (yuk!) thermistor as a temporary fix (18C in mine feels more like 13!), it will need to be re-gassed again after the new Nissan sensor is fitted, but Phil won't charge for the gas again. He's a good guy.

Just wondering if any member living in/near Sydney would be interested in swapping a full set of rims (4), in exchange for the ones on my R32 GT-R. My current wheels are only 1 year old and are a 18x9.5" full chrome five spoke design with a nice dish to them. The rims currently have 255/35 Falken tyres on them, which still have good tread. The wheels can come with billet adaptor plates for the perfect offset [if you have a BNR32 that is] Looking to obtain some 'CP-F TuneR' RacingHarts or Gramlight/TE37 Volks that have the right offset to suit the 32.
