  1. what spring was original and what did you change to ?
  2. i am thinking of just getting a bigger spring, would this sort it out? 21psi springs. rip out EBC & sell it. anyone here have bigger wastegate springs i can borrow to trial?
  3. it doesn't spike Blake, it just won't hold no matter what boost (higher then 1 bar) he puts in it will hold till 5000rpm and drop down to gate pressure. pretty devo atm, my old setup was faster than this Lol
  4. yes and jez had boost issues as well but that was because of his gate. BSA had the same gate mod and he didnt have any spool issues and his was plumbed up the same way as well. im gonna try with a bleed valve or borrow a profec b2 off Jez if he has time, so we can try it out.
  5. check Ebay US, email a seller called Erics Performance Parts or something, i got my VRS gasket kit from him
  6. here ya go Roy
  7. so having issues getting mine tuned atm. its only making 230 at 1bar it hits full boost by 3700 (20psi, my tuner says this is very fast for this size turbo)holds it flat to about 5000rpm and dies back down very quickly to 1bar (gate pressure). initially thought it was the BOV leaking so my tuner blocked it off and it helps a bit but it still dropping off fast after 5000 rpm. my tuner has double checked everything and can't see anything wrong with the setup or any loose clamps or hoses. his conclusion a) the rear housing is too small for it to drop off so fast up top (even if it was the smaller housing, the 8cm it should still hit 250~ and hold boost flat like BSA's results) or b) the manifold is restricting (but its been proven that the stock mani is good for 300 so that rules out the mani). i did question a few pages back why the kando rear housings were so small compared to Trust/Greddy items but then its the same rear hats on simons T67-25G and he hasn't had any boost issues. td06sl2-20g stock manifold tial wg44mm (1bar spring) plumbed back to exhaust greddy profec B Spec2 no cat hybrid style cooler with 2.5" piping 3" alloy intake with 3A racing filter any ideas guys? pretty disappointed right now.
  8. so if you currently have an engineers cert, you're safe? dam im screwed then
  9. haven't seen a thread about this on here?? if there is, mods please delete and guide me to the thread lol *stolen from ns.com* I'm quite surprised that this hasn't been raised on here yet, maybe it has, i haven't seen it, but eventually it will affect every modified vehicle owner. In NSW around December 2nd the RTA killed off the Engineers certificate scheme, so that means anyone who has previously paid big dollars to get their car engineered, well, its worthless now. The RTA is looking into bringing in a new scheme for regulations to modify cars i cant be bothered explaining it all, you can find info on it all over the net, but basically it would mean RTA inspection even if you upgrade your rims, do any lowering at all to your car, upgrade the brakes, essentially ANY modification must be approved by the RTA only. No more dodgy engineers certificates. Now Street machine had a MASSIVE spread on the whole issue, and street machine mag, Hot 4's, and alot of custom car, Hot rod, 4wd etc had a massive get together with the RTA and the police to discuss the impact it will have. My friend went and said it was a waste of time, they opened the floor to Q & A, and alot of questions were responded with "we cant answer that legally at the moment" Now i don't know if performance imports mag was in on this, because i havn't bought it in awhile, does anyone know if we had some involvement or support for this issue. here are some links about it. mainly look at the 2nd link, i think it has all the information on there. oh and here is a youtube link aswell to the meeting: http://forum.streetcommodores.com.au/showthread.php?p=2606551 https://sites.google.com/site/no2vsccs/home
  10. i find it strange how it would be "not good" if running the dampers on totally soft. they are there to be used on either soft/medium/hard?? good point in bringing up that the springs should be 200mm, im gonna check them out this weekend. my rears could do with a tone down as well.
  11. whats it drive like with a shim? is it rattly on low speed turns/carparks like a locker?
  12. Lol move back home problem solved,
  13. i wouldn't bother going to all this effort just to use a stock ecu. at least run a nistune or a emanage and get it tuned! you will get very bored of stock boost real quick.
  14. how would 6/4 go on the track? i imagine it would be quite soft, need a good balance for both, you cant always take it out to swap to stiffer springs just to go to the track, too time consuming lol
  15. does Hak open on Saturdays? i've heard a few good things about Hak as well. i went to Liverpool exhausts after being quoted $150 on the phone after explaining to them exactly what i wanted - they said yeap no worries, bring it in on sat morning and we'll sort you out. i went there and the price magically jumped up to $380 for no reason. i said no thanks, and left.
  16. hurry up already
  17. yellow jackets, splitfires, superspark just to name a few. do your research on those brands and pricing and see what suits your budget. theres a big thread about the coilpacks as well, do a search and you will find it whilst your at it, you might as well replace our spark plugs with new ones. since half of the inlet will have to come off and its a real b*tch on the rb2de neos
  18. you rich mofo, flying qantas haha jetstar if you want cheap flights mate remember, they price match and beat the competitors price by 10% as well if their flight is within 1hr of the jetstar flight.
  19. from Syd to Melb, or Newy to melb? If Syd to melb, theyre ripping you a new hole. who did you get the quote through? they charge the baggage fees off competitiors price theyre beating.
  20. just noticed you're from newcastle, it will cost a bit more for you. my flights last year cost $168. i got the cheaper ticket price from Tiger Airlines and got Jetstar to price match by 10%.
  21. flights are only $150-$170~ return, much cheaper then petrol for the trip there and back.
  22. unless its leaking, have you lost power or notice anything different (for the worse) in the way it drives?
  23. this thread needs more videos!
