  1. Oh and update, I was looking around searching for hipermax D's and they look nothing like what i have. The lengths are totally different and hipermax D's have this special mounting thing on the side, which I doubt is car specific. To tell you the truth from all the pictures ive seen, mine looks like the usual hipermax II's the most, just that the pillowball uppermounts arent anodised purple, their just normal silver and the fact that my set has stickers on the lower part of the suspension that clearly say hiper d. But could it stand for hiper damper? It looks like the whole range of hks suspension has that exact same sticker tho. However, I cant confirm what any of those stickers say (besides my own) coz their too small. Can anyone with a set of HKS suspension advise? Cheers
  2. Cheers mate, just checked, theres certainly no helper springs beneath the progressive springs. I just did my own shitty measurements, using a crap ruler, but i tried to be as accurate and careful as possible, and after that did the calculations on http://www.proshocks.com/calcs/coilsprate.htm that i found from that thread. I have no idea how to measure the progressive springs spring rate, but the fronts are roughly 5.5 kg/mm, albeit not hks springs anymore, their buddy clubs. Sounds like the fronts have been set up for circuit to me, no idea bout the rears tho. From what I think, the fronts were softer before and the springs were changed to ones with higher spring rates, what do you think? Cheers for the help so far
  3. Eh? Really? Hmm.. How come I cant find much info on it anywhere? :S Also, which are the rears? The longer ones? The fronts are the onse with bigger pillowball mounts am i right? If the above is right that means the fronts have got higher spring rates (ie. harder than the rears) and the rears have got progressive hks springs. Does that sound like a drift setup? I personally thought that sounded like a drag setup but i know nuts when it comes to suspension heh. Cheers
  4. Hey guys i recently acquired a set of HKS Hiper D's with buddy club springs on the rear which are approximately 8kg (dont know the proper unit for it). I plan to fit it to my 32, but the thing is i actually got them by mistake, assuming they were Hipermax II's. I have never took my car to the drags and i dont really plan to, my main focus is on circuit racing. I dont plan to join any competitions or the like, just a track day every month or 2. I know the Hiper D's have been developed for the quarter mile, with retarded dampening mainly on the rears. I also understand that this will give the car a funny feel while on the limit, with the suspension having a laggy feel to it. However, I dont really have the finances to buy another proper set now that ive got these unless i sell them. The thing is id rather keep them for my own use IF they will give me a reasonably substantial upgrade from the stock shocks while on the track. What do you guys think? Not even worth trying them on at an upcoming track day? Will they instead hamper my performance on the track? Or maybe a rather good set, obviously not as good as a set of Hipermax II's, but still some good suspension overall and still worth using? I know this is all my own fault but any help or opinions are highly appreciated. Cheers guys
  5. How much power would it take to push 300-310km/h given enough road? Also out of curiosity, how many km/h can roughly 300rwkw take me to with the appropriate gearing?

  7. Maybe your old stock cat hollowed itself out and was basically functioning like a punched out cat. So when you chucked the hi flow cat on, you put a bit more restriction back into the exhaust system and thus the drop in noise. It shouldnt be that noticeable tho imo even if ur cat was 100% hollow

  9. I use an exedy hyper twin plate and i find that the pedal feel is actually pretty good and light. Only problem is it bites hard and the friction point is pretty small so it takes a while to get used to. I still bunny hop off at the lights on hills sometimes :S (only had it for a few weeks now heh)
  10. Hey guys just wondering if any of you have done any rust repairs on your car and have had good experiences? I just found some rust in my boot coz the bootlid is leaking and some in the engine bay underneath the battery. I was looking for a place that could do a thorough check up on my car for any more rust so that i can repair it once and for all and have peace of mind. I just want a place that is trustworthy and will do a proper job of looking for anymore rust around the car. The last thing i want to see happen is that after ive paid A to repair all the rust he can find, B comes and shows me somemore rust that A missed. Also, what sort of prices am i looking at? Is repairing rust very expensive? Hoping it doesnt go above 1 grand.. Cheers

  14. which would make what colour? an orange wheel with a silver tinge to it? yeah after all the positive replies from you guys im really leaning towards painting em, just cant quite picture if a satin black or a gunmetal grey would look better. Guess ill just flip a coin
  15. yeahh from what i know, the -5 model is slightly bigger than the -7 model, which (i think) is comparable to hks 2530s. Yeah it is rather laggy but im still running a catback so im hoping the graph shifts to the left a bit once ive got front pipes/dump pipes in. yeah West im running slightly under 20 psi. Btw how do you know its in 5th gear? They are bigger than both the gt-ss and the N1s Cheers

  19. Hey guys just looking for opinions on whether i should respray my rims to maybe a matt black. I was looking at buying new wheels but the budget just doesnt allow so im looking at the cheaper option now The wheels in question are some sort of ancient Work ones but i have never seen another like it and cant find any info on the net so if anyone can tell me what exact model they are it would be appreciated. So, what do you guys think? respray black? or leave as is? edit: the wheels are actually some sort of pearl white but their too dirty in the pic so it looks sorta silver-ish Cheers
  20. Im running nismo 600cc ones. 3lit3 32, from what i know i should be able to easily get 500+ hp atw but i dunno about 700 heh. Yea I know im not even close to pushing the turbos but as i said, im trying to take it on the safe side for now as i do some track work. Once i get a full engine rebuild ill go all out . The dyno run was on 2 wheels. Cheers
  21. Hey guys just got some new turbos fitted to my car and i thought id post the dyno graph up to see what u guys think. Running sort of a light tune to keep my engine alive during track days until i can afford to get a rebuild done . Its using a djetro pfc and still on a cat back. Plan to get a turbo back soon to try and get it to be more responsive. Any comments welcome. Cheers

  23. Hey guys i recently upgraded turbos to gt2560s of the -5 variant and have got a rather light tune to get me 300kw atw. I tried maxing out 1st gear, full throttle and its all good, then when i shift to 2nd, the clutch seems to slip all the way to redline. I havent shifting to 3rd yet. Is it normal for clutches to work like normal and not slip unless ur going all out? What i find strange is that everything is fine except for when i shift to 2nd. =/ Thanks in advance
  24. The car doesnt idle well, the revs also sometimes drop so low that the car dies. Is it normal since i dont use AFMs anymore? Or can the tuning be done better and i should go back to my tuner to fine tune it? Cheers
