2 New Tyres 235/45 R17 With Wheel Protection
Yawn replied to pablo101's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
What are neutons? Nvr heard of them.. Just curious how does the wheel protection work? Never heard of that before haha -
You can buy a bonnet with a naca duct already installed in it from japan, like a one piece thing. I almost purchased one but then i figured its too much to pay for such a small vent? Im not even sure if it'll work well at reducing underbonnet temps. So in the end i got a shift sports bonnet, with the large centre drop vent behind the radiator which will most probably do its job at cooling. I also got a matching vent cover in case it rains/hails whatever heh :sorcerer:

Misfiring Bnr32 All Through The Rev Range
Yawn replied to Yawn's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Update on this, took the car out for a spin. Didnt happen this time after about 20 minutes of driving at normal operating temperature. How does this happen on the highway at normal operating temperature (ie. earlier on in the day) but not now? The oil/water temperature between the two times out were exactly the same. But it seems the longer i drive it the more likely it will happen. The thing is, it never happens on cold start or within the first 10 minutes of driving throughout the whole 8 months so it is likely to be temperature related im guessing, maybe the temperature of the spark plugs themselves after working for a while? To elaborate on when it happened on the highway, I was just cruising at 100 in 5th gear with a constant throttle application and out of nowhere it started. Its doing my head in!! -
Misfiring Bnr32 All Through The Rev Range
Yawn replied to Yawn's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hmm, how much lower? 0.06mm lowest? Im just wondering if it was such as obvious thing to do why no mechanics thought of regapping the plugs when they had a look at my car? Would taping the coilpacks up work as sort of a preventive measure to future hairline cracks? Thanks for the input -
Hey guys well i had this misfiring problem start along with idling problems when i changed my turbos, ecu, injectors etc about 8 months ago. I figured it was to do with the tune or something so I had it brought back to the same workshop about 5 times and sometimes it improved a bit or even got worse at times but never totally disappeared. I tried Racepace since everyone swears by Ben's work and had him diagnose the whole thing. Turns out the injector loom was falling apart and just by shaking it a bit whole cylinders would shut down. Had him make up a new one and a retune which left me with a hefty bill. Also, turns out that the MAP sensors were hooked up slightly wrong so I had him fix that too (i run a pfc djetro), which was probably to do with the tune not being able to be sorted out from the beginning. It was running great for a week or 2 until a few days ago where it would just turn into a Scooby after about 15-20 mins of driving, no matter what rev range im in. Even happens on idle. I figured it was the plugs since they havent been changed since before Ben had a look at it and the tune was rather rich before so i reckon they might be fouled. Today i took em out and chucked a set of NGK platinums in since my mechanic friend had a spare set lying around. It was gapped to 0.11mm and without checking we chucked em in and went for a test drive. It then was fine in the low rpms but would misfire high up. So we took em out, found out they were 0.11 and regapped em to 0.08mm. It then ran fine for like 20 minutes and i drove home. Halfway through the journey it started again and wouldnt go away. Reached home and went for dinner and came back to start the car and it was fine again. Also, i might add, with the old plugs which were cheap mismatched coppers (gapped to 0.08mm), I went to a track day and it would go great for like 5 laps and then it would start misfiring. I would let it cooldown for like an hour or so and start it up and it would go good for another 5 laps then happen again. What does that point to? Im running roughly 315rwkw btw. I have had a read of all the misfiring threads on SAU and ive come up with several possible conclusions: 1. Unsuitable heat rating? Thus the misfiring only happening after a certain period of driving? 2. Cracked coilpacks? Even if i dont see any hairline cracks can i just wrap everything up in electrical tape? 3. Need a smaller gap since running considerably more power than stock and maybe not enough spark? 4. Coilpacks leads loose? thus leading to misfiring throughout the whole rev range no matter what i do? This is really a pain in the neck and its one of the remaining problems in my car that I just havent been able to iron out even after having so many people look at it. Someone please help, i cant seem to get it to run reliably and smoothly even after having spent a ton. Argh

First ever track day i clocked roughly 1:25s at Calder Park with almost bald front street tyres and Yokohama AVS102's on the rear. Basically was crap but it was a good learning experience for me. Second time only change was to RE55S semis and got 1:13/14/15s on first few tries while still trying to get used to the semis and learn how to use the extra grip. At the end of the day pulled off an almost mistake free lap (for me) and a clear track to get 1:08.9. It's all in the tyres! SAU Nickname: Yawn Car Make and Model: R32 GTR Circuit Name: Calder Park Lap time: 1:08.9 Modifications Engine: RB26 Power: 315rwkw Suspension: GAB Revolution Stroke coilovers Tyres: Bridgestone RE55S Brakes: Stock, Bendix Ultimates Body weight: Almost stock i guess, with negligible weight savings Quite pleased with that time, although timed with a mobile phone stopwatch. Heh Got a second or 2 left in me (i hope!) haha

Bride Brix Ii Limited Edition Seats

Interested in stock R32 GTR seats? What sort of price range are u aiming for? -
I don't think it was official Police business, I just think that he wanted to warn me or maybe get me to admit that I was driving during my suspension. He was just doing his job i guess and didnt want me to be breaking the law. I havent heard from him since and my gf did give him my Malaysian number as he requested but he never called me. I also tried calling him back from Malaysia but he wasnt on duty. I also left a msg asking him to get back to me when he was free. Since he didnt call me back I didnt chase it up and it also slipped my mind as I was in Malaysia for 3 months. I just remembered about this when I saw this thread rebirthed at the top of the Vic section haha. If however he does get back to me I have my passport all ready to show that I was in fact in Malaysia so no worries

By not having p-plates up, which really fell off the rear windscreen - loss of 3 demerit points Jumping a red light, as the cop put it. Which in my opinion, was orange and I couldnt have jumped on the brakes because there was a car behind me. Im not arguing or complaining tho, just bad luck i guess. - another 3 gone I also lost 3 points for driving without my vic license on me. I was driving with my Malaysian license which had just became a full license. I thought i could use it and then drive my car not as a p plater and thus not have the power restrictions on me. It turns out since I have a vic license, no other license is valid in vic. Which is all good, ive learnt my mistake, just not enough research on my part. Thats how :sorcerer:

Black Ergo V-ii Seats. Black. $1400

if the deal doesnt go thru PM me -
lmao, i did in fact jinx myself. Your warning was a year too late i guess I get stopped almost every single time a cop around my area sees me now, just for random check ups. All that just because my P plates fell off my window once and they caught me for that. They seem to think im going to keep repeating the offence and theyve been stopping me ever since. The fact that i live 100m from a police station doesnt help either i guess Funny but true story: A couple of months ago my license was suspended due to loss of demerit points but luckily it coincided with my trip back to Malaysia. After spending a month or so in Malaysia, my gf who had been using my car calls me up and tells me a policeman came over to my house and left a card. She calls the guy back and he was super pissed off, accusing me of driving my car during my license suspension. He describes the scene and my gf immediately knew it was her in the car instead of me. My gf tried explaining the situation that i wasnt in the country but he was so persistent that he had seen me driving. Its like their so sure i'm gonna be breaking the law, when in truth i would nvr drive dangerously or speed because of the simple fact that I cannot afford the fines. Haha oh well i guess lesson learnt for me

I've had a look and if you check the site now, the pics should be up. The airbox looks pretty good, wish they made em in carbon as well.

Ooo nice wheels, good luck with the sale matey! -
Hey guys I was looking at getting of those vents for my 32. I was wondering if they are a separate item from the bonnet or if they are one piece? If its removable, is it purchasable from Nissan? (just asking, even though i doubt it) I've seen the Topstage ones and their not to my liking, so i was thinking of the cheap way around it. I was thinking of just cutting that shape of the duct into my bonnet and chucking some black mesh under it. That way it will look smooth and remain legal as long as I dont cut the main frame of the bonnet am I right? Is it bad to have rain or whatever foreign objects fall straight into the engine bay or should i have something underneath the hole in my bonnet to sort of cushion the fall of the rain water and divert it to somewhere else in the engine where it can just drop straight to the ground? Any opinions appreciated. Edit: Included pic

Yes there is and its set on the stiffest. Thats what i meant by i can feel every little imperfection in the road but it bounces a bit after every imperfection. For eg., i hit a small bump i go thud, bounce, bounce. Its like the absorbers arent doing their job properly, and i get the impression that its sorta just riding on the spring. I havent had any experience with any aftermarket coilovers before so im not too sure what its supposed to feel like. I just imagined it to be like thud, without the bouncing part. Haha i hope im making sense

Hey guys i just installed a set of 2nd hand GAB rev stroke coilovers and they are pretty stiff. I feel every bump in the road but for every bump i go over, i feel 1 or 2 tiny bounces before the car is stable again, if you get what i mean. Is this a problem with the absorber being old? Its doesnt really affect me, unless the roads are uneven. Is this gonna be a problem on the track tho if i dont get it sorted out? or is just normal? Any opinions welcome Cheers
