Yeah the CRD kit is definitely a decent set up at a very reasonable price too.
Probably best to talk to your mechanic about what parts are going to suit your application best.
1. No, it is not unsafe.
2. Depending on the length of the track, a rough guide would be 1 warm up 3 hot laps and 1 cool down. I would finish my lap and begin my cooldown by around 120 degrees or maybe less if you want to be conservative.
3. 12psi should be fine.
4. Read Wink's post. And just have fun and watch your temperatures
My car was burning a lot of oil a while back before the motor KO-ed. When the oil levels were low, the oil pressure would go haywire, something like what you described.
^ Exactly my thoughts.
Quiet Achiever: The benefits you stated can be achieved through rev matching alone and therefore theres no need to double clutch?
I can understand it being a habit, but besides that i stand by my point.
Yeah i had something like that too but the squeaking only happened when i depressed the throttle. And after pressing and depressing the throttle a few times when cold the sound disappears. Only happens ocassionally though
Double clutching ie; clutch, shift to neutral, lift foot off clutch, clutch again, shift into gear?
Besides protecting your gearbox, I dont see much more point to it?
Genuine question: Whats the deal with titanium gearknobs?
The whole point of titanium is so that it weighs less right?
But with gearknobs you want a bit of weight in it so that your shifts feel more solid, so is the titanium only for the look (and strength)?
I have a DC2 type-r titanium gearknob in my Civic and it is definitely at least as heavy as the stock one. It does give a nice feel though
What if an undercover cop car decides to fire you up by tailgating you and then cutting you off?
What if you then speed up to catch up to him to give him a piece of your mind, without breaking the speed limit but flat out to it?
What if he then decides you're racing and impounds your car?
Who's right and wrong then?
Probably both.
Just sayin'
Yeah the road noise really gets to me at 6am drives to Winton .
I wouldn't use it on a daily driver, especially before the tyres warm up, the grip is worse than my street tyres.
Edit: Im using RE55s.
Yeah Jim Berry as mentioned, or you cant go wrong with Exedy either.
I'm using an Exedy Hyper Twin which comes with a lightened flywheel too as part of its one piece design.
Still relatively easy to drive, just takes getting used to the small friction point I guess.
As for the sump baffle you can get a Tomei baffle plate for about $350 i'd say? No harm chucking it in, but not really necessary too as R31Nismoid mentioned.
