  1. Hey guys just wondering, ive never had any problems with cops at all with both my old 33gts and my current 32gtr.. Is it coz im just lucky or is it coz cops in the CBD area have better things to do than pull cars over and create a traffic jam? Cops dont even give me a 2nd glance. Thats why i found it a bit strange that everyone is usually saying how their modified cars always get canaries and get harassed by the popo. Anyone else who stays in the CBD realise this?

  3. well even though im only 19, in malaysia we get our licenses at 17. Wonder if that makes a difference. I do have a victorian license too tho.
  4. yeah repairs to my car not but the repairs to the ferrari i hit is (touch wood =P)... heh im just afraid that JCI will say "ohh the gauges were blocking ur view so you couldnt see the ferrari and its not our fault u mounted them there, so we're not paying u" i know its an exaggerated situation, but still.. u get my point
  5. i know i know, but compo insurance is 2.3k for me T_T but my question was if u have some sort of mod to the car that a cop would defect u for, (example: too loud an exhaust or gauges mounted in the wrong position) but was totally unrelated to the accident, will insurance still cover u?
  6. Hey guys u know how mounting gauges on the a-pillar is illegal? Like how its supposed to block ur vision or something.. Well i was just wondering wat happens if lets say apart from those gauges everything else in the car is stock and im involved in an accident. If i happen to be at fault and have 3rd party insurance, do i still get covered? Coz they keep mentioning everything has to be legal and roadworthy etc.? Or wat about if a car has an atmo-venting bov and then gets involved in an accident? Is it still covered? What exactly happens when u want to make a claim? I havent been in australia for that long so im not too sure with the insurance policies here. thanks

To be honest, i dont know for sure if they are stock, but since they are low mount and everything else is stock, on top of the fact that the past owner didnt mention anything about aftermarket ones, my guess is that they are. Hmm now the main problem for me is the crap lag.. takes way too long to spool imo, even tho i havent sat in many stock gtrs. For the 1.4 bar that yesterday, i agree with all you guys opinions of the wastegate not opening, and im pretty sure the hose connecting to the actuator is leaking, causing it to not have enough pressure to push it open or sth. But because of the long period it takes to spool up to even 0.5 bar, nothing would be under mcuh stress as long as i dont fang it again until its all sorted heh. Also, i doubt the leaky hose connecting to the actuator would have anything to do with why my turbos are so laggy will it? Id be happy as if i could get 1 bar at 4000, as its really sluggish now.   9. Ah icic, yeah it did seem to have unlimited pressure, it just kept going. Im just lucky nothing blew.. phew.. really still on the adrenaline rush that it gave me.. heh. Also, btw is stock boost 0.5 bar? and at wat rpm should i be reaching peak boost? coz it still takes pretty long to spool up, like maybe 4-5k rpm for 0.5bar?
  10. Nah man, the mechanic i was referring to is sort of a friend and he was helping me out for free.. He doesnt deal with turbo cars that much so he asked me to take it to my normal performance workshop nearby just to double check. I will definitely do that but i just posted here in the mean time to see if anyone had any opinions or comments on wat had happened is all.
  11. Hey guys my gtr was running weak and it would take very long to spool up to 0.5 bar which im guessing is stock boost? took it to my mechanic, he found a leaking hose (wastegate one i think). He reconnected all the hoses with new ones and back to the factory boost controller and took it for a spin around the block. We friggin got 1.4 bar of boost at 8000 rpm??? Shouldnt the turbos have blown? Am i just lucky that the turbos didnt blow or is there something else im missing? The reading is definitely accurate, (defi gauge, reads boost consistently all the time before this) and the car was pulling like freight train all the way until the fuel cut. So basically what happened? Whats wrong? Mechanic thinks that another hose is leaking so it doesnt create enough pressure to open the wastegate? Coz now ive fitted a bleed valve and even when i turn it all the way down to minimum setting it still goes up to 1.3 bar?? Scared the sh*t out of me to be honest and im driving it really carefully now until i figure out wats wrong.. Anyone got any comments? Thanks in advance
  12. Hey guys, update on this is i went back to my mechanic to get it out checked out again. He still couldnt figure it out but finally said something about some sort of shiny glaze stuff that had developed on the rotors?? Anyway he ordered me a brand new set of the rotors for me. The new rotors worked great actually for a week.. Hardly any squealling and even if there was it would be very faint. BUT now its back Ive been back to him like 4 times now and im not sure i wanna go back again =.= Anyway im gonna go get the red paste stuff u guys mentioned and give it a go.. this is my last hope by the looks of it heh we'll see what happens
  13. o yea and its not the clutch slipping? i have no idea what happens when a clutch slips either so plz enlighten me =P
  14. yeah its an atmo one. problem is i dont have a stock one heh the bov came with the car.. also im not really familiar with misfire.. what are the signs of misfire? is there anything audible or maybe a diff sort of feeling? thanks again for the help randy appreciate it
  15. Hmm well i would say its after engaging 2nd gear.. But now that u mention it i also feel a slight loss of power after say 6000 rpm. from idle to 6000 its all increasing then from after around 6000+ it seems to sort of become rather flat then when i shift and engage the no power starts. The no power area feels like a car stalling.. The bov seems to be working fine so im still pretty unsure as to wat it is.. =/

Hey guys, nowadays when my car approaches (around) red line and i shift from 1st to 2nd, the car sort of stutters and theres a lag (complete loss of power in that 0.5 secs) before it engages 2nd gear. It doesnt happen when im driving it normally but only when i shift the gears quick up high in the revs. Is it to do with my clutch or wat? Its nvr happened before so im unsure.. Thanks in advance for any help Cheers

  18. yea thats wat i wanted to know in my first post.. the weight diff anyways ive decided against getting the CF hood for now.. money better spent elsewhere.. besides the rice factor wont really benefit my car atm heh

Hey guys ive driven past traffic lights and there was a large flash behind me a couple of times and there were no trams in the vicinity so im guessing it was a fixed speed camera, however ive nvr gotten any speeding fines mailed to my door. Do these fines actually get mailed to you or do you have to call up and check or something like that? Is there any website that you can go to to check if you have any fines outstanding?

  22. Hey guys i recently got this screeching sound whenever i braked and realised that my rotors were all worn down so i went and got it changed along with the pads as well. Thing is after changing em the sound got worse so i went back to my mechanic and he said it was just some new gooey stuff on the rotors coz their new. So he took em apart and he said he did some cleaning to it and the sound would still be there but would be gone after a couple of days of normal driving. He said to give it time to wear the remaining stuff off the rotors and let the pads wear in a bit. Now after more than a week the sound is still there and its really starting to get on my nerves It only happens when i brake at this certain level, not too hard or lightly. Its got my mechanic scratching his head as well but im going to take the car into the workshop after easter to get it out checked out yet again. Do you guys have any idea what could be the cause? Or is what my mechanic said true and it will wear off by itself slowly? Cheers
  23. Can anyone recommend me a good place/site to get a good quality carbon fibre bonnet for my R32 GTR? I was looking for a full dry CF one. But have only found ones with a CF coating on fibreglass. Is there much diff in weight? or any other differences? Any help appreciated greatly. Thanks
