  1. I had Ferodo DS3000's on my front 6 pot CSC's (BMAX now ) first up. I agree with Snowy, when you give them a hard stab they bight really hard. It's almost like flipping a light switch in terms of braking effort - didn't like that much. I am now using Pagid Black's (RS14) on the front and find them to be excellent and last nearly twice as long as the DS3000's. I got them from Barrie Smith Motorsport in Canberra - great to deal with. I have always used Hawk HPS on the rear brakes as they are a perfect balance for the front track only compounds. I run 355mm rotors on the front and 343mm rotors on the rear on a stock weight R32 GT-R. Cheers Andrew
  2. Very impressive.
  3. hehe, I have only done a 1.38 at winton in my current car. My Sti was good for a 1.36 neat. The 1.38 was with a split intercooler pipe so I'm banking on a 1.36.XX when we get there in July. We'll see Jack, I'll put some cash down on your cracking a 34 this time.
  4. Meh, it's coming out at the end of the year for a refresh so it can wait til then. I'm not losing any water so it's just a lack of air flow. - it's mainly at PI and Sandown with long periods of WOT. Oh yeah, this one is for the Fernster: Phillip Island: 1.51.26 - UPDATE PLEASE!!!!
  5. Groovy You can test for that by measuring the CO2 in the radiator fluid from memory. The minute I get off the throttle it starts heading downwards so I suspect it's just airflow related. I don't have a shwanky nismo front bar to move air around the radiator I'll get that checked next time I'm topping up Ben's Super Fund....
  6. It's all factory issue for the ducting. The oil temps are not too bad as the oil cooler is in the front bumper and angled for maximum surface area. I've still got my air-con condensor so it blocks most of the radiator at the front. With power comes heat, so unless I ditch the air-con there's not much I can do apart from doing some work at the bottom of the car to direct some air flow up into the hot part of the radiator.
  7. F#$CK me, no wonder you blew me into the weeds on the straights..... I reckon by the 3rd flying lap, my car is down to about 280-285 rwkw given how hot it gets and how much timing is coming out and how much fuel is going in. I'm shooting 3 foot flames on decel when water temps are over 100deg C. Cheers Andrew
  8. Here is my track data for the day. I am still scratching my head as to the lap in red as I have no idea where that extra top speed came from up the back straight, and it wasn't even my fastest lap. Add up all the fastest sectors for the day and my theoretical perfect lap was a 1.21.48. My corner loads where not as high as P.I. so can possibly go faster over the back at the left hand sweeper. Then again I drove it home with the only thing missing being fuel so I'm happy.
  9. New Sandown time of 1.22.35 added to orginal post http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...20#entry2164566
  10. Great lap time for your first Sandown Archie, your thing has a wicked top end. Maybe a 50 shot of gas will help get it out of corners.
  11. I did say "we" :laughing-smiley-014:

Well, boys - I actually did get my 1.49. Just not all in the same session. Best theoretical lap today was a 1.49.88. So it's there, just got to be consistent.

As a matter of fact, you are absolutely right. I WAS!! I don't care if there were cars there older than me, I'll take it!

Well it was perfect weather for racing, dry and cold. Lots of slower traffic today as expected. I didn't get my '49 but found another half a second for a PB of 1.51.26. The next second and a bit is going to be hard I don't know where it's going to come from. You all missed an awesome day! Cheers Andrew

Me too, although I doubt I could get another leave pass. I'll just have to wait for the PIARC in July.

Cheers Archie, get that big single blowing around phillip island mate. It's a wicked track with so much 3/4+ throttle - no lag issues (except honda and siberia )
