  2. That's fantastic guys, I really appreciate the response here. As the laptops stand the thieves won't be able to circumvent the BIOS and encryption so they'll be seeking some assistance with this I believe. I am hoping this is where they'll surface.
  3. That would certainly be appreciated mate, thanks for that.
  4. Yeah I've informed all the cashies, police etc etc. It's kind of difficult because I'm only new to that area so still looking out for all the dodgy people.
  5. I'm very sorry to hear about the loss of your E-01 mate, it's such a piss off I know. I just had my house broken into and I'm really angry about it all. Got insurance and stuff to cover it? I'm still searching all over for my notebooks that have been stolen and it's no great task.
  6. Thanks for your input on that one mate, anything is a help at the moment..
  7. Guys, I know this isn't related to our cars at the minute, but we had a break-in within the past 4 days at our place in Nollamara and it seems that the intruders have made off with 2 of my laptops, DVD's, cash etc etc. A quick description of each is as follows: Toshiba Satellite M30 - Silver chassis with black keyboard, 15.4" screen, DVDRW, 802.11 onboard, power supply included IBM Thinkpad (Corporate Registered) - T40, Black with a red trackpoint central to the keyboard, power supply included and black IBM bag If any of you live around this area, knows of, or might have been offered these - please let me know as they are required for work and can't really be replaced. As such I'm happy to pay a reward if these are magically discovered intact. Cheers
  8. Nissan Skyline GTST 1996 Spec II, manual, white, approx 67,000kms - Immaculate condition - non smokers car, Autowatch Alarm/Immobilizer, GReddy turbo timer, Apex air filter w/spare HKS powerflow and flange, 2500lb pressure plate + ceramic clutch rebuilt by Autoclutch, TurboXS BOV, 3" Kakimoto exhaust, serviced every 2000kms, new belts, all lubricants changed, 18 inch wheels with Sumitomo rubber, lowered and hardened suspension, Nismo side skirts, GT-R spoiler. Stereo is not included but I have the whole stock system which will fit straight back in easily enough. Or someone can make an offer on the stereo seperately. The condition of the car is immaculate with no rust or any defects as it is always garaged and rarely driven. As such, this sale is based on a possible work relocation and I do not want to sell but unfortunately it seems that I need to part with my best posession. Additionally, the car has participated in no motorsports events to date. For the current kms and condition of the car I am looking for around 23,000ono. Either way I'm happy to answer questions. Anyone that is interested is able to contact me on the mobile - 0438903064 or PM me.
  9. Faulty coil pack by the sounds, test them all
  10. Try an extension bar with a uni joint working from under the front of the car, thats normally the easiest with the stubborn nuts. Use lots of crc before attempting it too.
  11. I'd pull the cam and rocker covers off at the very least to check it out
  12. You will need an airgun for the crank pulley
  13. Check all vacuum hoses, that can easily cause the issue
  14. I'd recommend the following: - Coolant - Engine oil - Depending on your service history you may need to do gearbox and diff oil too. - Timing belt will need doing after 100k, might as well check your waterpump while you're there too and replace it. - Check plugs - Check air filter condition Need more info to give you a better answer though..
  15. Well done JK
  16. Wheel clamps are definitely a problem now, but as mentioned above, it's nothing an angle grinder can't fix I'm sure a few of us would be willing to pitch in if someone were stuck. I think most of us have had bad experiences with parking inspectors around the CBD and northbridge. Driving our cars will nearly always attract the inspector with even more of an attitude. I recently had an issue in perth where I had parked in a 15min spot on king street and the a**hole began screaming abuse (progressively getting louder) at me once he saw me unlock my car and then continued printing his ticket. I didn't bother giving him the satisfaction of an argument, I just jumped in and drove off and never ended up receiving any mail regarding the issue or being reminded for payment of any kind/amount by fines enforcement. The fact is nearly all of these guys are so depressed with their own lives working a shitty job they hate because they have no f*cking direction in life or the inclination to do anything worthwhile with their time, they find the need to inconvenience people with real lives and jobs
  17. "It strikes me as another revenue-raising exercise and it will only aggravate drivers out there and I don't think it's a smart move - it's actually a retrograde move," Yes I think they've gone a bit far this time..I mean seriously, saving lives or revenue? Come on FSCK Michelle Roberts.
  18. Check the speedo wiring pickup above the gearbox, these get pretty brittle after a while.
  19. Hey Guys, this is up for sale for $200 ono (normally over $300) The element is in very good condition with an r33 adaptor flange thrown in also.
  20. PM me
  21. If it's the stock vacuum line, they're pretty well subject to going brittle so it could be anything from a hairline fracture around the manifold or map end, to a leak around the vicinity where the T piece is.
  22. No worries mate Yeah I remember not having a hoist, did wonders for the upper body strength but probably not the safest if you're working with a larger box All the same just PM me if you get stuck
  23. It's really easy providing you've got a hoist (for g/box) and IS time consuming .. Slightly more awkward than the SR as theres a little less room to work around the bell housing/bolts but . Disconnect your battery Start with the usual and remove the gearstick (circlip) then unbolt the prop shaft and have a catch can handy for all the box oil that will drain out of the rear, you might want to re-use this oil also. Loosen the frontpipe off the exhaust system also which provides a little bit of leaverage to allow the engine to rock. At this point I'd advise using your hoist under the gearbox to support the weight while you remove the bolts around the gearbox mount. Then slowly, lower the hoist which will allow easy access in undo-ing all the sensor wiring off the gearbox. Use a small flathead screwdriver for this as they can be very hard and brittle after many years in the land of nippon. At this point the hoist should be supporting the entirety of the weight apart from the bell housing. Undo all the bolts off the bell housing and push the starter motor aside. There is limited room to actually wiggle the box out like I mentioned before so be careful with this and do not force it. You'll find that it'll be necessary to slightly roll the box around a few degrees to clear the starter motor housing of the firewall (on the bell housing as you probably know). At this point the box should literally drop out slowly as you lower the hoist. Then simply roll the hoist back to remove the box completely and presto, it's done. If you want any specifics let me know
