    Heading Off To Japan!

I'm here now. DeathStar weren't that bad... food was average but that's to be expected. And $7 for a Asahi is a bit insulting.....but for the price of the airfare they are good. Make sure you bring some thongs/sandles or shoes that are comfortable when VERY wet. Damn Typhoons dump a shit load of rain! Oh and you can buy cheap umbrellas from chemist's, 7/11's (and the like) and the Superfunhappydiscount King Penguin shop. Go a Umbrella thats 65cm or bigger. Umbrellas coast about 400-600 Yen. EVERYONE has umbrellas!

    Accomidation

^^^ Excellent advice Beer Baron!! I totally agree (from my brief time in Tokyo ) I've stayed in Shinjuku, Asakusa and Ginza.... and Shinjuku was just so easy to get to anywhere from the train station. But be warned, the Shinjuku station is a little on the large size! If you like a nice quiet Ryokan, try this one. It's in Asakusa and it's very easy to find. http://www.andon.co.jp/index.html well priced, cheap brekkie, good selection of DVD's at the front desk and there's a Nissan dealership about a 5 min walk away. (but i only saw a Micra in the window )
