  1. we were up at 4.30 to head down, weather was good in newcastle, then it poured on the way down. seemed good once we got there, but it was the right decision. i and the guys from rx engineering walked the track to the 60 foot mark, it was not going to be a fast day on the track guys, where your rear wheels would have been on the line, most of the rubber was washed away, and whilst it felt sticky on the bottom of your shoe, i am sure it would have been a struggle to get off the line cleanly. i am unsure who the guy was doing the talking at the meeting, ABO bob?. but credit to you for making the right decision when i am sure you had a few guys getting ancy pants because of the cancellation. it was a shame a few idiots felt necessary to light up the tyres in the car park, showed their maturity level. was great to see the skyline owners all left sensibly. have we confirmed whether it will be the 26,27 of nov or 3 dec. cant wait for the day to come along. shane.
  2. i will be there racing the cressida, i will be doing a tyre test for zoom, cant wait. Shane
  3. thats precisely what i do Mr Blonde, and thanks for the positive comments. i take it you have a zoom subscription, i have too wait for it to come out at the newsagent. sucks.
  4. basically i put mine on gas as my 1/4 mile times were not upto scratch due to having a small capacity engine not being able to drag the stall up to its needed rpm. i had a 3400 stall and the when te engine was cold and the box was cold it would stall up no problems. when it was warm or hot after a few runs it would stall up resulting in low 12's at 124 mph and 2.2 sixty foots. the 40 shot gives it enough extra hp to get it on stall and give me consistant sixty foot 1.5's which in a 3460 pound rwd car is pretty awesome on street radials. i would like to see some 10 sec GTR's run these type of sixty foots in RWD mode, i never wanted to put mine on gas, but it was the only way to drop my sixty foots and get the car consistant. dont know what others think but i teckon tens out of a stock internal and stock head 2.5 ltire engine thats done 189540k's is pretty damn good. would love to see what she will do with a plenum, throttle body, head work bug cams and some internals for longevity. shane
  5. a good mate of mine knows paul and stacey and when i told him they had run a 10 he asked me if they got booted as when he saw the car it didnt have a cage, that was why i asked. i haven't seen the car up close myself shane
  6. awesome, kel's in cardiff isnt he? did andra kick you after the 10.3? i expected to get kicked out at drag combat but i didnt get logged or recieve a letter in the mail. will be good to see two local cars in sport rwd.
  7. i believe 10's are the bench mark of a street car these days. i know my own car was drvien to from newcastle to qld jamboree last year and then drove it home again and it ran an 11.80 all i have done now is put a bigger stall in and bigger injectors and it runs 10.7, it gets driven 400k's a week and the engine has done 187000k's.
  8. good to see it into the tens. who did your tech inspection, i have to get mine done prior to jamboree. shane
  9. :werd: i have heard they CABIN lost $200k over the last two years from their drag combat events, and thats why they are pulling out. these events should be about racing, not titty comps and sound offs. it annoyed the piss out of me sitting in the cab of a car in 35 degree heat, in a fire proof suit and being told you cant get out of the car we are about to start once the titty comps over, had to sit there for 40 mins in the heat. titties are for strip clubs and DJ's are for night clubs, not a race meeting. Shane.
  10. that other bling car was my stock looking cressida that top qualified with a 10.7 et i love people who dont get out and have a go talking crap. adrian, this sport compact championship is awesome news. great to see you are being involved in some way and getting what people like you and me want, competitive racing. This sport compact series will hopefully bring sport compact to a new level and maybe one day it will be as big here as it is in the states. i cant understand how we can get 300 cars at a wednesday night street meet, but give the racers an opportunity to win prize money and get photos of their cars in magazines and they dont want to race but instead sit at home and not even watch. Shane.
