  1. disabled it on both machines so I have NO issue geting what I need off the server. Qbooks runs just as fast remotely via 3g as it does on the server so I'm happy there. I can print to other machines just not the one I need to (in the van.) I cannot see the printer (with the 3g link up.) on the server for some reason. I can see EVERYTHING else on the remote machine (pdf printer etc) but NOT the actual printer. ---------- gilly, you're on.
  2. it works so I'm happy. printing is another issue though.. (doing this now.)
  3. No. 5 IS ALIVE!!!!!!! !!!! now to set it to something oddball to get rid of the f'wits... (suggestions -pm pls.) I'm smiling ear to ear ATM because this thing simply works as I wanted it to!! thanks for the help guys!!
  4. havent got a pic but if you look at a n15/16 pulsar its that pocket.
  5. yep that tech can probably fix it. all I will do is send it off for you.
  6. nope netcomm NB5. (ta ben!!) got all the IDs for my connection now and I'm going to do a test run of it tonight.
  7. and when you do find a good one DO NOT let them put an immobiliser on it. I have a customers 33 GTR that was bought from a place on ipswich rd annerly that had a HORRIBLE job done on it. drop the car around and I'll do it properly
  8. autowatch 288rli with a CATE GSM unit with windup modules. that does it better than the viper unit and at least the car is somewhat secure. not much change from $1500 though,
  9. nissan pocket from the dealer or from me. both are te same price about $25-30.
  10. alarm type pls (pm me.) battery i remote ok? any lights on that shouldnt be?
  11. indeed. I like skylines (and I have a damaged one I need parts for ) ... no I'll ask again what do you wnat it to do and is your requirement insurance based? if so then R/S is out of the question- the rest is doable.
  12. 2 way pager= good - really.. I disable most of those in 30 sec or less... what do you want it to do eaxactly and I'll toss a few ideas your way.
  13. nice car. secured? (IE alarm?)
  14. thats what I'm doing. think RDP on wireless and you have it. the connection times out and stops- you can see the inbound data coming in. firewall is off but zonealarm isnt. thats set to pass on one port only. I'll know a LOT more in about 3 hours after I get the new router.
  15. tried all that last night- no dice. got a new one taht I pickup tonight. thanks for the help
  16. ta. you may hear from me tonight. I know about the printing thing. already locked up one printer and had to reboot the server when I did it.
  17. sorted! (ta ben!)
  18. just looked at the static IP part. I have two. one for the physical internet addy and the one behind the router. so that part is correct. keep in mind the other machine is on a 3g wireless network and not physically connected to this server.
  19. most of that looks familiar. the last few steps do not. we did get a reboot message though. I'll have to go set the van up and have a fiddle. MR benno, still would like to have a chat.
  20. correct. server is beside it. runs windows 2k3 server. I have a locked IP-first thing I did. remote PC accesses it via XPhome remote desktop. so from that end its a case of connecting to the 3G service and putting the IP and port in and hitting connect. I can do this and we saw the inbound data packets coming in a few at a time before it fell over and died. would like to chat via phone if I could.
  21. correct. the whole issue lies with port forwarding. basically I'm looking for someone to come over and get it going for me.
  22. did that. it make little sense to me and marc had issues as well. we can see the data inbound on it but cannot forward it to the appropriate spot so it comes out and hits the server.
