  1. yeah i've though about this aswell a decent one with few mods is $20k i reckon if i sold my 32 i'd be lucky to get 8k as its pretty ruff and the box is farked, but the conversion should cost under 4k which makes it a much much cheaper option than the GT-T. theres also things like theft to worry about a little more than the 32. but it depends on the individual i guess, i mean you could put a 34 engine into the 32 also, i saw a frontcut for 4.3k.
  2. Naa that won't happen its too much fun hearing it scream Rb30det is overkill for my application i only plan to run the stock turbo, to be honest im pretty happy with the 150kw ive got lol
  3. got any pics of box? could be a f**ked bearing or heaps of other shit hard to say when you don't know if it was good before...
  4. still 50k GRRR
  5. i really love the reliability of the Rb20 engine but im onto my 3rd rb20 gearbox with only 150kw i don't wanna pay $500 for another, when it may only last a week! so im considering an rb25 conversion if i do the box i may aswell go the engine too, im only after 200kw i mainly just want a bulletproof setup. im interested in what actual costs to get it on road are, i can do all the work myself and should be able to get a halfcut for 3-3.5k?? then maybe add another $1000 for tailshaft mods, tune, fluids, gaskets, belts etc.... sound right? how cheap can it be done reasonably? i've never driven an rb25 but people seem to say its a different world to an rb20? response is definitely something i'd like more of! im interested in opinions from people who have done the conversion, what it cost them and how it changed the car.
  6. need a 5sp gearbox for my rb20 in VIC whos got one?
  7. yeh fair enough, but the way you said it at first may confuse the noobs. another thing you should add is a rear extension housing seal, it goes in where the tailshaft enters the box, this will often leak if its not changed after removing the tailshaft. not many of us will have access to a hoist and i wouldn't say its "silly" to do it on the ground, best advice i could give is get someone who's done it before to help/watch.
  8. sorry but how does changing a clutch make the rear main seal leak? i'd say its a more of a must to change the spigot bush!
  9. the price is way too high mate. you can get running r32's for 6k!
  10. hell no. but you were trying to tell me that no GTST owners thrash their cars! i see where your coming from but there's way too many variables to be able to say that GTR boxes will be in a worse condition.
  11. thats BS and means nothing.... if you gonna say that then you could say a GTR box will have been serviced better. to be honest i think GTST's are driven harder than GTR's....
  12. im sure its possible but it will be interesting to see if it can be done for cheaper than an rb25 conversion.
  13. i got all the main bearing's for my box for $90 i think theres 6-7?? the one that was f**ked was the main shaft bearing in the carrier plate... anyway i stripped the box down almost completely, but can't get the massive nut off the main shaft so gave up lol..... killed another rb20 box in the meantime so rather than rebuilding it i think ill just bite the bullet and go RB25....
  14. ill most likely be there but we better hit the hills!
  15. the one with the SAU sticker was my mate hes an ass and bought the car with the sticker although he is on here. the second one was me im too tight to buy a sticker lol
  16. wanna sell me the old panasports or whatever they are
  17. location? condition of box?
  18. yeh i have killed two with only 150KW but i drive like a tard.... then theres people like Roy whos got a 200000k old box behind a 270kw monster thats still going strong!
  19. sounds interesting got pics?
  20. mate i had a similar problem i tried the different flywheel which fitted but the clutch would not engage. measure the clutch plate sizes my original one was a 225mm but the one i had been sent was a 240mm i had to swap it for a 225.....
  21. fark thats expensive.... whats the disadvantage of having more lock? i mean why didn't Nissan design them with more? i drove a celica the other day and the amount of lock they have is crazy compared to my 32!
  22. its fine mate i did mine 2 years and 50000ks ago it was around 115-125 and still going strong.....
  23. bit off topic but i noticed my front swaybar is alot thicker than the rear one is this normal?
  24. i fill up when it gets to 1/4 not because im worried about picking up shit but i just get paranoid about running out of fuel lol
