  1. doubt its ur o2 sensor, must b something else u have touched...mite b wrong i dunno
  2. +1 POS dont bother
  3. check the nuts on the wheel, sounds odd with unrelated cars (mine being an R33) but had a similar problem, mine were clicking and i checked it all out and the nuts were loose.
  4. i had same problem, shortened my ground wire to minimum n noise is gone..
  5. Yea all fair comments, guess ill find out. If they sound shit at least they look good heh! the SQ now is good but i guess im starting to lean towards the spl side of things, either way when i have the opportunity (without looking like a moron) i like to listen to everything very loud. Ive looked around on google but there isnt much info on this stuff, few pretty shit reviews ie: "theyre good" etc..who knows wat ive got myself into heh..
  6. Just picked up a pair of Crossfire BMF 1228 12" subs and a Crossfire VR1000D Monoblock amp to run them. Current stereo is Alpine X-Type competition splits in the front doors and DDLinear's in the parcel shelf running off a (few years old now) MRV-F540 4 channel, Midrange and treble is excellent, will i be pleased with these subs? Ive heard good things about Crossfire and part of the reason i went about getting them is i dont know anyone who runs their gear. Anyone have experience with their stuff? Cheers, Chris.
  7. i would have thought an IT reading of 31 would be fairly accurate for the condidions considering the ambient was 19...makes sense to me..
  8. i think each car has its own perks and flaws, R32 had minor issues with some aspects of the first generation of RB26, R33 everyone seems to think theyre rubbish for some reason and the 34, well its hard to fault them... Personally bang for buck, R33 craps on the opposition for affordability and cost of maintenance. Im starting to sway towards aspiring to own a R33 gtr moreso than what i thought i always wanted, the R34 GTR...
  9. Yep another GTST owner looking for the GTR 2 way. Who has 1?
  10. i dont own one but from what ive seen they all tend to transfer power to the front alot more than you would expect, its normal as far as i know.
  11. i just had a look at it, cleaned it up as much as possible and found the markings on the crown wheel as being 49:12, so its nothing other than wat ive really already got yeah?
  12. ur turbo is new and same wit wastegate, put money on it ur not running standard 7psi. Do you have any form of aftermarket management on this car?
  13. that doesnt bother me, i dont think ill be breaking it at 270kw
  14. i see, worked well for u. well i just pulled it out and got it home, its not an active diff as i thought, it just had all the lines for the 4wd bolted on the underside of it. so thats good, its definitely an LSD and pretty tight one at that but i dont know what to look for exactly in trying to identify it as in ratios and still curious to know if it actually is a GTR item. What do i look for guys?
  15. ken oath! Ive had my 33 for 4 years and if anyone should hate their car it should probably be me, 18 months of the ownership in the workshop, 3 blown engines (2 built), 2 turbos. Recently had the car looking a zillion bucks, full detail done, paint looking brilliant. Bad luck comes in 3's, firstly, got it back from the detailers, dad drives in the driveway in the bommodore, gets out leaving the car in drive, no handbrake...gets a good 10-12km/h up and ploughs into the passenger door! completely F@*ked it, later that same night. Going out, parked at a mates place. Got a cab, my mates Xr6 turbz barge swings his front left quarter into my front right side, smashes the sideskirt off, quarter is buckled badly and pushed in the right door! And finally, f*k it doesnt matter now, on sunday i take it to Eastern creek (same weekend btw), pouring with rain, lose it at turn 1 doing a good 200, into the gravel...smashed front bar, sideskirts and rear bar managed to come off...so much gravel in the doorjam i couldnt open my door. WTF hey? Beyond all that its now at the smash repairs with all new panels and a nice Top Secret kit going on. .....and i still love it!
  16. 4.08 ratio eh? interesting... yea ive seen on alot of 96+ model R33's they had Active slip diff's, no idea how they work tho.. What were your thoughts on the Stagea diff? did you find it alot better over your existing diff? My diff in the car at the moment is so fried, basically never acts as a LSD anymore...
  17. mite be an idea to loosen the engine mounts off before dropping the box. wouldnt want to break one, or both.
  18. K, so i got a diff today out of a mates wrecked stagea, i was told by a few people that its an R33 GTR diff with 4.3:1 ratios, can anyone confirm? it was a Dayz RS4, 1995 model. My other question is that it had a heap of hydraulic lines and a loom with 2 plugs. I have left it all intact while removing it but wanted to know, this stagea had traction control, so were these lines for that or is it one of those Active LSD's? In the situation that it is an Active slip diff does it require all these hoses and harnesses to be functioning for it to correctly work or can it be modified simply not to use them? i dont have a clue about stageas so any info would be very helpful. Cheers Chris.
  19. dunno wat low boost is considered maybe 10-12psi? but id imagine u would struggle to notice a difference
  20. mate has 1200's in his wrx, runs like standard...
  21. i got this setup you speak of and i will always steer clear of using tubular manifolds if a cast item can be used in any situation, had 2 "guru" manifolds on my car before and they both fu*kd up. no studs are too short, i used a 20mm T3 flange spacer (from GCG) with custom studs that were exactly 1" longer than standard and they were a perfect fit. any engineering place will be able to make them up for you, i had 8 made in case they broke but 6 months on and a few track days and everything is still like new.
  22. Rigoli's built that engine in their car. Its always at their fabrication shop next door. Rigoli's VL has no weight reduction in it at all either or it didnt last time i was sitting in it.
  23. setup looks cool!
