see thats where im different when i bought new speakers my main concern was to keep them in the stock location nice and hidden away so nothing looks out of place thats just the way i wanted it which is cool considering i dont have to worry about the same stuff you do RellikZephyr

for engine oil its probably a personal choice thing i use Fuchs Titan 10W-30 but for gearbox and diff the only way to go is Redline Oil its not cheap but absolutely great stuff yet at the same time it doesnt REALLY matter what brand of oil just as long as its the right type and weight RellikZephyr

 well put and very true CAI is always better than sucking in engine bay air RellikZephyr

for gearbox and diffs i would have to say cant go past Redline Oil not the cheapest of options but i dont think ive ever heard of someone not happy with it RellikZephyr

not really back to square 1 thats the point of the BOV to release the pressure so its got somewhere else to go other than back down to turbo and spinning it down (and worst case, damage) and given you change with high enough revs you shouldnt come off boost even if you dont flat shift not entirely sure of exact point of flat shifting (never really liked it, prob cause never had dog box) but i would say (given strong box) it gives a jolt of speed/power when gear changed as opposed letting off go pedal and having to apply power AFTER gear change RellikZephyr

umm flat shifting is not shifting like that infact shifting like that is a bad idea and doesnt really work in a racing sense flat shifting = keeping the go pedal on the floor while changing gear giving that short time to raise revs whilst changing the reason this is usually only done with dog boxes and such is cause its VERY mean to the box i.e. standard box just breaks and cries and you dont want that it is even bad for the engine in worst case scenarios (if you miss the gear, engine revs up and boom! nice little shower of what used to be engine internals) and as for shifting in a drag it is basically finding the best for your car Example: Skyline GTR(with standard box) a medium speed shift is the best because syncros in box cant handle full rev fast changes (reason why standard boxes always have stoofed syncros) also rev limiter changes arent always the best either (again with GTR) if your setup is making peak power at say 6500rpm then the key is to keep the revs around that number too high not making as much power as you could (power curve drops off) too low takes too long to get onto best power *end rant* if i have unanswered anything tell me and ill have a go RellikZephyr

thats not entirely true about the boxed up pod thing there was a post not too long ago and the guy had a boxed up pod but the cop was still asshole enough to defect him for it but as long as you have done the right thing then you can take it to court, win and maybe even put that cop behind a desk for 6 months RellikZephyr

as far as i understand (in Vic anyway) Pod filters ARE legal as long as.... it is a dry element (non oiled type i.e K&N=illegal) the pod is secured to the chasis (via bracket usually supplied in kits, my Apexi Pods has them) it is the only intake mod you have (not allowed fmic AND pod, if fmic is not standard) does not make your car no longer apply to emission laws Hope that helps RellikZephyr
-
if you are comparing the different filters this is worth a look http://www.mkiv.com/techarticles/filters_test/2/ i found it rather interesting especially with the HKS filter also taking into account that technically K&N oil filter is not legal RellikZephyr

boost with pod filter and exhaust
RellikZephyr replied to ricsvtr's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
disbelieve it all you want but the facts are bigger exhaust means slight boost increase not sure why... i have a R32 GTR 3" dumps and 3" straight thu exhaust (and apexi pods) after removing boost restrictor i am running 14 psi NO ebc or bleed valves or anything of that nature but i am installing EBC this week to stop boost spiking (luckly never had, would destroy my stockers) RellikZephyr -
In Need Of A New Clutch
RellikZephyr replied to abcent's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
im running off a OS giken twin plate clutch (came with car) and i find it very good good drivability (given that it is a twin plate) and bites likes hell when needed (6K launches not a prob and good fun ) but as far as i understand they dont come very cheap but as a good clutch i would very much recommend them Good Luck RellikZephyr -
cat back there shouldnt be any difference between gtr and gtst but dump pipes are very different as gtst is single turbo and gtr is twin turbo RellikZephyr

Removing Hicas On R32 Gtr
RellikZephyr replied to oRiCLe's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
i have a question if hicas is there to help cornering why is it so many people want to remove it about the only thing i have heard is the when taking tight lines the car tries to correct you, then you correct the car, then the car corrects ..... but what ever happened to slightly adjusting your driving style to work with hicas?? tell me if im wrong cause i dont really get it i own a GTR and will look at doing some club level track days so why is it better to remove hicas?
