hahah oh ok.. Hey Paul, what is your thoughts on nankangs? They have them around the corner from my house (45-235-17) for $150 balanced and fitted. Ive heard drifters use them even in competition. I dont know why anyone bothers with iridiums or platinums. Ive had them and yeah they last longer but dont perform any better. I mean its a pretty substantial dent in a budget for plugs. Copper ones you can pay for fuel, grab a set and throw them in every few months and it costs f**k all! No need to cleen something that costs $4! Who gives a f**k, throw it out and but a new one.

A lot of people including myself until my friend showed me a few figures, magazines forget also the vl's pertential. A rb30det with a few induction freeing mods ets and a bit of boost is a fair bit quicker than what a r32 or r33 would be with similar mods. They are not as heavy as what people think and the extra cubes with a few mods compensates more than enough for the lack of double overhead cams etc. But, I personally like my car but before my other mate told me about turbo cars, i alway wanted to do up a vl or vs as a kid. I really wanted a black v8 vs, tinted, stereo etc. anywho.....

ryan, Man I actually quite like vl's despite all the sledging. My best mate is in the process of striping one and painting it candy red. He is dropping in a rb35det and a stall converter and a dog box of some sort. Very nice custom stereo in boot, about 4 pairs of splits. Full Aero kit, hsv 18 inch wheels, on air bags. Will be a very nice car and give mine a run for its money. Sorry dude, just bored and trying to stir people up. Have to admit I got Ya? laters

thanks for your help. Cleaned every sensor plug in the engine bay with H1000 electronic contact cleaner so I guess ill give those plugs a go. Mates dad is a manager at Bursons so I might get lucky and get the .8's straight up.

can i not by a set of ngk's that are pregapped to .8mil?

r33 s2, I had them gapped at 1.1 and they were a bosch pulg with a heat range of 8. The guy at the service station got the specs out of book but obviously they are complete shit as car run better with ngk with a heat range of 5 and a 1 mil gap.

If you can tell me model number ill get them today. gap to please

rev210, ill get those bosch ones out of there then. Which ngk ones should I get? And what gap? Car has front mount, pod, 3.25 inch exhaust cat back. I havnt upped the boost yet. cheers

Ryan, Have you noticed the shit interior in your vl? Or are you blind? Do you have to get out and look at your fresh paint to balance it out? Even a early model camry has a better interior than that shit!

bosch wr8dcx for rb25det, any good? It sounds like it is breaking down under load. I previously had NGK bcp5es in the car and they were good up until 5000rpm then powere flatened out and it seemed the car was held back by soething. Maybye a vacuum line not hooked up properley? Help!

cheers james, By the way I have yet to purchase a boost controller. was probably going to buy a blitz one. I actually was talking to someone the other day and they think that those gizmo controllers are great, apparently they have a much better quality solinoid then the base blitz or apexi ones. There made in NZ. Ill keep the car I think. Its just at the moment, its running like crap, no stereo, no parcel shelf, needs new tyres, But motor is healthy I think?? (150psi over each cylinder) But car is straight and in good condition so I just haver to be patient and eventually it will be done.

So i can pull these out and change the gap? please explain. In the past ive hit up the old man who is a mechanic and he has given me a set and we are away. Ill do that tmrw morning and see what happens. I;m guessing you need those filler guages thingymebobs? conti plugs? what is that?

thanks a lot guys, Yeah it is just me trying to save a bit of coin and use the forums to pinpoint the dramas and fix it cheap, as I have spent 5k on new motor etc in the last couple of months.Also my dad is a mechanic and has his own business but even he is ready to incinerate it with me. But im thinking of taking it to 'garage hiramitsu' on the Gold Coast as apparently they are quite good. Im sure if it ran like it used to with the old motor and a few more mods and the 2k stereo ive got waiting to go in id love it again. Its just at the moment i look at it and cringe because it is sending me broke! lol James, Car has a hybrid front mount, k and n pod, 3.25 inch exhaust(only cat-back), exedy brass button clutch, kyb mountain climb struts and some sort of jap springs-poly'castor rod bushings, 400 r front bar, gtr sideskirts-pods-boot spoiler, 350z rims, Car is brand new windscreen to the front panels and bonet and headlights, front bar. Thats another reason i do like the car. Ill have to get some pics up. Not being biast, but looks wise it is one of the better 33's ive seen on the Gold Coast Thanks guys I was considering buying a rex?! what an idiot!

yeah i will get around to getting a turbo upgrade, but thats not the problem. It isnt right. Its much less powerful then factory at the moment. something really up. I changed the plugs and it only made it worse

i just got bosch fr8dcx 1.1 gap and my car detonates and runs like shit when i put foot down! Why! Guy at mechanics looked at them in the book and said they are the right ones?! f**king car
