Guys, that's not how the dB system works. it's not a linear measure, an increase of 3dB represents a doubling of sound energy - eg 2x100dB cars doesn't equal 200dB, they'll make 103dB. so geraus, 87.9 is a comfortable pass.
  3. Nice, who for? Get much success?
  4. Obscure sport to be involved with i know, but are any of you guys into IRB racing? If you don't know what it is, check out
  5. Also, there's little actual innovation in the GTR engine, plasma bores perhaps. A good one that it is, i don't know of too many technical progressions. Most of it's achievement is in the gearbox.

    Gtr V Lf-a

Probably in a similar way to how folks are questioning the reliability of a car which has only been on the market for 3-4 months, and few here have driven, much less owned. My original post pertained to the LF being a more attractive car (ie. prettier). I know it's a waste of all that technical achievement in the GTR, the phenomenal DSG and all that, but if I forked out $150k of my hard earned, i wouldn't let it touch the track in any less than the hands of a professional - of which i am not. So therefore it would be a streeter, where all that technical achievement is almost irrelevant, and things like aesthetics become more important. If I pay six figures for a car, i want a car that makes me go 'wow' when i drive it/ look at it. And IMO the LF-A does that more than the GTR. Don't get me wrong, the 35 is a gorgeous car, but from the LF shots i've seen it makes the GTR look a bit like a muscled up 350Z.
  7. By the time they've finished it won't be a 35 anymore, it'll be a car that has a 35 engine, and 35 bodywork. That's it.

    Gtr V Lf-a

Okay, so like everyone else i felt a special stirring in the pants when i saw how gorgeous the GTR is in the steel. But now i've seen the shots of the LF-A being punted around Nurburgring I'm starting to think of the opinion that the Lexus is a more attractive looking machine than the GTR. I pray that one day i'm in the position to be facing this dilemma, but i'd seriously consider the LF-A as a purchase over the GTR just for the way it looks and the intoxicating V10 sound.

Good, the ending was a bit limpwristed though!
  10. Non-Turbo are a different design, and 4-stud (turbo are 5 stud)
  11. So if the LF-A is the successor to the Supra, where does the FT-HS concept fit in?
  12. In all likelyhood any future Niss-ault would come from the next-gen silvia, not the GTR. Renault's main competition seem to be in the vein of Citroen/Peugeot/Skoda, none of which market anything even like the GTR, so it wouldn't make sense to try and jump from small/mid sized cars to the Super GT's of Aston and Jag. But a small, rear drive, hi-po coupe definately sounds like something they could use as a halo car to push them ahead of their class rivals. I like the idea, so long as they don't bastardise it with their *cough* unorthodox styling.
  13. LHD Camaro SS on the Frankston freeway this afternoon, replete with wide black bonnet and roof stripes, and a '68 Mustang fastback at work in Ashburton about a week ago.

    Help Me

before you get royal flaming - next time search, or just have a look around. Skyline FAQ http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Sk...ne-t113261.html Importing FAQ (in the cunningly titled "Importing" section) http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Im...Faq-t97853.html And it may be cheaper to do it yourself, but you'll need a good grip of japanese, and be able to wrangle all the additional stuff to actually buying the car (DOI import approval, degassing/regassing the aircon, shipping, insurance, customs taxes, compliancing etc). It may well be worth paying the extra $1500-$3000 of an agent to make sure it gets done once, done right. 'nuff said.
  16. negatory, not nicely anyways. That looks like an S2 sedan bumper.
  17. My Trial bumper clears everything, provided you don't take it too quickly! On a standard (maybe slightly raised) car.
  18. No Red = Yellow Sticker - ADR's require rear lights to have red reflector that is highly visible when struck by a beam. Why go clear? the stovetops are part of what makes a 'line a 'line IMO, semi unique to the lineage (i realise that there are others similar, but it's the only one i can think with four distinctly separate lamps)
  19. hope you've got deep pockets, every story i've heard revolving around lambo doors ends in about the purchase price being spent again in getting them fitted such that they work.
  20. Narva do a trailer light that fit, about $10 ea. I just had the same bar from the same place fitted, panel beater said it was a nightmare to get on, had to take a lot out of the reo for it to fit. On the other hand, (just to stay neutral here) Cheez had fantastic fitment on his bar (once again, same bar, same place) so it's a bit of a gamble.

    Security Mesh

Anyone know a good spot to get a front bar's worth of securty mesh (ie, screen doors etc) from? need to fill my bar with something a little sturdier than ricebarn's offerings.
  22. pretty much, easier to clean up if it's all stuck together. Screamin' - do you use your 32 for dirt rally?
  23. For the record, They can be sourced from nissan overnight, i ordered it on a thursday and picked it up friday afternoon
  24. Anyone know what the diameter of the round indicators is? I'm hoping to go the cheap option and find trailer lamps or similar which will fit my front bar, rather than fork out 200+ for genuines.
  25. That's not a new car, that's an espirit.
