I like your thinking. - how many parts for the conversion are supplied? I was reading somewhere that the only parts you get are the front guards, you've gotta source all the other parts for yourself (ie, bonnet, bars, radiator support, bonnet hinges etc).
-
The only things that look great with a 34 conversion are Stageas....
-
Depends on what engine you're running. Apparently it the filter will connect straight into a 25DET AFM, but i have no idea - read through the thread, it's all in there.

Try this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=119448 A'pexi filters best, but it's horses for courses. 'swoosh' doesn't nessecarily equal good filtration, so which do you want more, noise or engine longevity?

No-one said insurance companies are fair, they're about run one rung below casinos on the ladder of 'people who financially f**k you'. But the fact is, i doubt they'll cough up if you have your accident whilst breaking the law - and driving a banned car is just that, even though a lot do it.
-
touche, you sure do know how to hold a grudge....
-
Yeah, be careful with them. They were fine during the sale stage, but when i found that the tmimng belt was incredibly loose and the tension arm worn about 2 weeks later, (my mechanic was asking how far i'd driven without it snapping) they tried to camouflague it as 'something we forgot to tighten'. Otherwise, the prices are fair - They even drove 20mins to pick me up from a train station!

I know i risk sounding like the biggest idiot for this, but does the heater work straight away on startup? Mine's made this clicking noise for ages, but when i finally needed the heater this morning it didn't blow heat until the engine warmed up, and i don't remember if it used to do that, it's been that long since i needed to use it.

Anjoo, i sympathise. But is it really the smart thing to do to get into a pissing contest with the very people you turned to for support? Grow up. Yes, you were in an accident, which by your account and the people who drove past was quite significant. Yes, you now have one less 34 than you had a month ago. But don't think it was because you were in a skyline, because you come from a rich background, or even because you're asian. You made a poor choice, now live with the consequence. Hopefully next time some self important tool cuts you off or flicks a smoke into you car, you'll remember to do the right thing, instead of risking your own safety over a chunk of steel that, by your own accounts, you can afford to replace. BTW, is your insurance really going to cover you when they find out that you were driving the car illegally (either by racing, or the fact that it's a banned vehicle)? Those guys take every possible out that they can find to avoid paying you... And to all the character assasins out there, cut him some slack. Sure he may be immature and senseless, but after the tenth page of grilling i think we all get the idea.

I'm with you on that one rhett, it's really a poorly thought out ban. I mean what the hell is with banning turbodiesels just because of the 'turbo' prefix....
-
It had too happen, after almost 6 months loser free, i've been boganed. Sitting at the lights as i went through ringwood, this beanie wearing d*ckhead in a poorly repainted VR, complete with in-cabin neons, intentionally waits until i can take off on the green, even though his lane had been clear for about 10 sec or so.
-
I think i read that somewhere, but they'd probably rework it first, that loophole where hi-power NA's are allowed wouldn't stay for long. But i think there is one out if they do bring it in - when they brought it to NSW i'm pretty sure, if you got your p's, or already owned an outlawed car before the ban was put into place, you could still drive it. (NSW dudes, feel free to correct me)

Hey Sav, Still got that right side window reg?
-
Go the 32, 33's are in the 'no' zone.
-
But the regulator box audibly clicks when i push the button, are they meant to do that?
-
Where do i find the window motor? I've taken my door trim off, and found the black box which is clicking (presumably the regulator) but i don't know how to get to the motor to see if it's stuffed.

Engine Makes Kind Of Rattly Noise Just Above Idle.
baron25 replied to hayden49's topic in General Maintenance
Mine cost somewhere around $400-500, but that was because the idiots at my local nissan dealer decided it was a good idea to take off the front bar, drain the cooling system, remove the radiator, change the belt and tensioner arm (i had asked for that), and then replace my radiator fluid with expensive nissan branded stuff. This isn't really helping but i'm just venting frustrations - originally they had quoted me about $200 or so. -

Mine was the same, while the engine's running put your hand on the top of the belt cover. if you can feel a throbbing then it's the timing belt hitting the top of the cover. -
Anyone know if a left hand side regulator will work with a right hand side motor (or vice versa)? or do i need to get both parts from the same side?

Does anyone know if there's an import yard in the canterbury/Chatham region? I'm on the train heading towards belgrave fairly regularly and just past canterbury station there's a yard with 6-10 imports (R32's, 180's and 300ZX's mostly), none with numberplates. Is this the back of a workshop, because if so it'd be a convenient place for me to get work done. On another note, is there a jap wreckers near there? i need parts but don't want to have to drive out west or down to dandenong to get 'em.
-
really? huh, you learn something new every day. What's the advantage of that then?

I did realise that twin setups can be run off a single filter, but AnjoO was aksing about having multiple pods for a single setup - which IMO is pointless, the only real time when having multiple intakes would have a potential benefit is in a twin system.
-
Could the AFM cope with having air pass through it at the higher airspeed created having twice the inlet size?
-
Twin Turbo = Twin Intake = Twin Pods I think you'd need a full custom manifold to have twin pods on a single turbo or NA, you probably have to wire up another AFM too...
-
But on the other hand, #3 and #4 have a larger surface are, meaning that more air could be filtered at once, would that have an effect?
