  1. See first i thought i was hit, but there was no damage to the door, and no broken glass on the road. It couldn't have fallen out as the housing was twisted back toward the nose. 3 week wait eh? and i thought $50 was a decent price, any idea what a wrecker would want?
  2. So i park in the city for 15min on monday, get back to my car and some f**k stole the mirror from inside my driver's side mirror housing. I can get a replacement glass from Nissan, how difficult is it to fit back in? From what i could see on the housing it just seems to clip into place, am i right? Or do i need to replace the entire assembly?
  3. Anyone had to replace their windcsreen lately, a recent 40+ day and possibly something falling on my car has left me with a 30cm crack through the middle. Know what i'm looking at costwise?
  4. Nice white 911 GT2 in Surrey Hills wednesday, and an M5 cruising down the western ring last night.
  5. Does anyone have pics of their 33 with top secret skirts? I'm tossing up weather to go for 400R skirts or Top Secret, anyone know if they're similar in depth top to bottom?
  6. maybe because that's what the GTR was designed as?
  7. If the skirts deal falls through, gimme a shout and i'll take them off your hands!
  8. As above, preferably in melbourne, but beggars can't be choosers. PM if you can help me out.

  10. cock. Drifty, who is this ICI of which you speak?
  11. Hey all, after a losing a fight with a concrete barrier i got to a panel beater and he said that a respray would be no problem, as the colour was holden's 'cardinal red' is this the same as the superclear red from nissan, or should i just walk away? I got a second opinion, but that one told me i was looking at $800+, as the car was a pearl finish. a factory pearl finish? Anyone know the real story?
  12. As per title, looking for a LH guard and headlight, pm me if you know where i can find one.
  13. if you feel like parting it i'll take the LH front guard off your hands...
  14. Evolutions of the same model I concede do look similar, and for reasons i assume of 'not broken don't fix it'. But the point I was trying to make is surely it can't be that difficult to come out with a new design, auto shows are filled with new concept cars each month, some of which look quite impressive indeed. Why do these designs get shelved, and what's put out look like something that already exists. If you dislike the styling of one model, and all the others resemble it, it kinda switches you off an entire brand, regardless of what model you wanted. It's a bit of a cop out to produce a car, then push and pull the panels a little, change the name and call it a completely different new car.
  15. Is it just me, or do the designers at Nissan seem to just use a basic car template and change a few little things to call it a new car? eg, S13 and R32's have quite a similar silohuette, as do R33's and series one S14's (look at the roofline and the nose). And the more i look at the new GTR, the more i start to notice cues from the 350Z.

    R32 Vs R35

Yeah, but if you manage to wade through clarkson's biases, he makes some interesting points. but yes, is does seem to have become less car focused and more light entertainment, the cars kinda died with the whole 'how hard could it be?' segments

    R32 Vs R35

Anyone see the Top Gear ages ago, where the current supercars were compared to their 80's and 90's counterparts? Long story short, the Enzo, Zonda and Carrera GT were blown out of the water by the Mclaren F1, XJ220 and F40 in terms of outright speed, and handling. Reasoning is, current cars are loaded with ESC, yaw control, throttle assist, all the stuff to make it easier for the average mug to drive quickly, but at the cost of outright pace. Whereas the 80's cars would happily let you spear into a tree at mach 2. Apply this to the GTR and the 32, and the gap in times isn't so much a reflection on power, but also on safety and other secondary criteria. my 2c
  19. there'll be a couple of holes, and the outline of the hamburger logo still on the paint (duco underneath won't have weathered the same as the stuff not covered)
  20. 'more moderner'? seriously, i prescribe 200cc's of learn to speak, and an ego reduction stat.
  21. ah, much more difficult than i imagined. thanks for that.
  22. no, i mean the actual steel. there's something funny in all the lock/window mechanics that needs fixing.
  23. How difficult is it to remove the outer door skin? When i got smashed, the panel beaters did a poor job of putting the door back together so now a number of parts are loose in there. How hard is it to get in there and tighten/fix stuff?
