  1. I want to buy a alloy radiator Problem is i need a r32 radiator as that is the car and i need the mounts to line up but will the hoses line up on a rb25det? Basically i need one but need to know if i can use a r32 one on a rb25det engine or if i need different hoses etc. ALso what kind of Thermo fans are you all using. I really need to sort this over heating issues out bare in mind i am in Darwin and the temps up here are around 36 most days with around 80% humidity. it gets hot and my engine hit 105degrees alot. Any suggestions would be great
  2. Hey guys i have done this on several other forums and it has worked out very well. All this thread is is to post videos and have a bit of a chat in regards to you motorsport succeses. There is my latest attempt of a motorkhana series here in Darwin. I did pretty good for my first one. As above post up your vids and have a chat bout them.   3. yeah i am running a rb25det with a few mods so thought i would go a bit better. A mate of mine with slicks ran a 12.7@107mph with full slicks in his VL so i guess with the right setup a 12 will be there just need some work done.
  4. best run all night was a 14.1 @ 105mph which in my opinion was shit. My 60ft times were 2.6seconds which is pretty shit as well. A mate ran a 13.45 @ 105mph with a 60ft of 2.1sec so yeah not overly happy with 180 at the wheels. Think it is time for some slick. Do these times sound right you guys.
  5. Cheers for the reply Sam. Yeah it is Dave i am talking about. He is having trouble with the Af ratio so has said to go a computer. I will be talkin bout doing another loom and then pluging in a PFC. How much would you charge for the loom pre done. Cheers.
  6. No i will stick with this tuner as he has fixed the problem. It was a dodgy fuel pump. He is a very good tuner up here and has a very big customer list with fast daily driven cars that are very drivable. Did this and checked the flow of the puel pump. At high RPM the fuel pressure drops to nothing replaced it with a 040 and is all good now. Thanks for all the replies. Also the EX coils are going very soon. It was on the car when i brought it and my tuner has said to get rid of them and go splitfires. So this is happening. Thanks.

  10. Hey mate that helps alot. I do believe he raised the fuel pressure ages ago and i am not sure if it was changed back. Do you by chance know the stock fuel pressure is. As for a SAFC i will pass on that one as it is not a budget build hence why i was going the more expensive route with the Microtech. I really dont mind spending dollars as long as it is for the right reasons. The stock turbo is going for christmas i am getting a gt3076r sard 550cc injectors and the computer all at once. I have been told by CRD that i will ba able to bolt the turbo on the stock manifold the injectors are bolt in with the collars and i was getting a power FC till the tuner said microtech. But we will discuss that more when i see him next. As for the wiring not being a problem it clearly is at the f**king thing caught fire today and melted heaps of wires near the battery... Dont know why but now has to be replaced.   11. I priced a chipped ECU from Dr drift an it was almost 1350 to chip and tune it. Noone up here does nistune so i would need dr drift to do it and why would you pay 1350 when i can pay 1700 fitted and tuned from a power FC. I might get another loom and talk to him bout the power FC Thanks for the advice mate. Will ask him what the fuel pressure was at. I think it was bout 35 not 100% on that though.
  12. OK so you have all stated that Microtech are shit. But really only one has said why and that is that its shit on cold start up. As stated i am in Darwin so cold is not an issue. But if your all saying to go Power FC can you at least let me know why other that the microtech is shit. I need some things that power fc can do that microtech cant do. I can ask him to replace the whole loom with a newer condition stocko one and then plug a power fc in. But i will look like a cock going to him with an arguement when i have no idea what to say. Oh the other thing i read was that it does not have a knock sensor is this true. And to the FPR question. I am in Darwin FFS i got the genuine sard item brand new for 150 that was cheap hence why i brought it. I dont know if i needed it but when CRD tell me to get one and most the guys in the dyno results thread have them they cant be bad. But regardless of that i got it now and i am not going to take it out and replace it. I need answers which i have. most have said it is the ECU one even pin pointed and said that it is cos the stock ecu has a fit with higher than stock boost. So we have established it has to go. But if my tuner want to put a Microtech on it for reason be known to himself and there is not another tuner up here i would go to as this guy has proved himself with streetable 600+ bhp skylines, stageas, GTR's, and some mean evos and s14's he is my choice. I just need some facts to go to him with to change his mind.
  13. If you read my post the car came with a Malpassi FPR that was leaking. I could not source a stock one and there will be more mods to come. There for to replace the shitty leaking one i get a better one. Seems normal to me to upgrade then to put a stock one on that costs money to buy then getting another one when mods come. Logical yes. The microtech again if you read my post you will see that he wants to rewire the whole engine bay. I am not stupid i know the Power FC is plug and play but he wants a wire in so remove any old shit wiring. Again kinda logical. I have been told by several people that power FC will be cheaper and better but i will talk to my tuner again and see how it goes. Thanks dude bout tome someone understood where i was coming from. It has been butchered to shit with different things and wiring put in then half taken out tis bloody ugly.
  14. OK the reason he wont use a power FC is because he want to wire it in himself. He has done many of these and has very good results with them on several skylines up here. Here being Darwin. We were going to put a power FC in untill he looked at some of the wiring and the stock loom. He says it is mesy and well i will agree with that. So he wants to start from scratch and piss off all i dont need. I am well aware that the fuel pump i have got will support the power were thinkin it might be faulty. We fitted a FPR because the old Malpassi one i had was leaking so i got this one. Thanks for the reply's i see it is the engine management is the problem so i will be ordering one next week.   15. Thanks for the replies. I have a sotck ECU at the moment and wanted a power FC. Was ordering one next week but he has asked for a Microtech as that is his prefered computer so he can eliminate alot of sensors and shit such as the AFM. He has swapped the AFM over twice noe to different ones and it has not helped it is still runnin 4.9-5 volts. Thanks again i will go Buy a ECU. The car is in a garage and not moving till this is fitted. Cheers Guys.
  16. I got my r32 with a rb25det tuned today. I am in strong belief that the tuner did a good job as i have dealt with him on many occaisions but he has said that my fuel ratio is all over the shot. He said he has not seen something this bad in ages. The mods are FMIC Walbro 255 fuel pump Sard FPR 3'' exhaust from turbo back Possibly a neo turbo on it. Running 10psi i was getting 185.5 rwkw. Now after the tune all he did was check the mixtures as i was getting massive flames of over a meter lapping my boot and he checked the boost running 11psi i get 183.2rwkw. Does this power figure add up as in the top one is that what a rb25 will make roughly with those mods. He told me i will get prob another 10-15rwkw fixing the fuel mixture and getting it to run properly. He has stated that normal driving around town it is so rich that i will glaze my bores. But WOT at 3000rpm it leans right out. Then goes rich as hell again untill the fuel pump runs out of leggs and i lose fuel pressure but if still runs righ cos of all the fuel in there. Any suggestions would be good or if you have had this problem. He said the lean spot is pretty bad but has advised me that he swapped A/F meter, o2 sensor and played with the TPS. But none of this changes anything. He reckomends i get a microtech as it is a full wire in job as he want to do a new loom and eliminate the prolems with in it. Have any of you had similiar problem at all and if yeah what was it or what might it be.
  17. I am in need of a fuel surge tank anyone have any setup ideas as for what to use. I have no idea at this stage. Not sure to mount under or in the car??? Any help would be good. Oh its a r32 with a rb25det in it.

  20. DR drift qouted me 1350 to fit daughter board and tune it. Now for anthor 300 i can get a PowerFC fitted and tuned with hand controller. I dont see why you would go to a nistune from dr drift when you can get a gand controller and have the ease of getting it tuned anywhere by almost anyone. Well that is my 5c anyways. Something as important as a ECU i would spend the bigger bucks and do it once. So to speak
  21. Mine was doing a similiar thing. Half to 3/4 throttle would go hard but full throttle would feel like something was holding it back. Changes A/F meter and plugs then put it on a dyno. Found it was leangin out bad and that the timing was out a bit. Tuner had it fixed in no time. Cost me bout 300 all up and now goes hard as f**k.

  24. Can you fit adjustable cam gear on a rb25det? The reason i ask is my tuner has not done it before. He said it has a adjustable one on i think he said the intake. Can you replace that with a greddy or hks one as well as the exhaust? I brought a set for my old rb20 and never put them on so was going to with this motor. Also what gains are seem by them. Thanks
