  1. Hey guys i am having some probs with my skyline. It is a r32 with a rb25det. It has a walbro 255lph fuel pump and a malpassi regulator But when it comes onto boost it cuts out and coughs and splutters then all of a sudden comes on hard. Then will surge a bit through the gears. Checked the fuel pump changes the sock on it and the fuel filter today but no joy. Any suggestions?

  3. well well well. I brought a r32 bout 4 weeks ago. I got it for 4 grand with 3 months rego on it. The car has a rb25det fitted upgraded clutch FMIC 3'' exhaust Turbo back and 10 psi boost. It now has a malpassi FPR on it The boost drops off to bout 7.5psi and made 185.5 RWKW Does this sound right. The car goes like a rocket is wicked to drive. I got it so cheap cos the chick selling it was leaving the country the next day i offered 4k and she took it. Was advertised for 10k. will post pic of the dyno sheet and the car in the morning. I personally am wrapped with the power it is making and it is heaps quicker then my rb20det powered s13 which had 165rwkw. Did not think 20 RWKW would makle that much difference.
  4. Hey peeps. Was wondering if anyone has seen what r32 GTR rear guards go for. I was lookin at getting a se off a mate but he not sure how much to let them go for and i dont wanna pay to much. Have to see if it is worth it. Could you post what you have seen them go for. Cheers.
  5. A mate has them on his r32 rb20 and they are great. I have been told that with the cheap cam gears the main thing to do is replace the screws that come with them and mos the time they will be as good as anything else. But all in all a good read.

  7. wooooh that is wickid power. Well done mate. Cant wait to start building my 25 in the r32. Tis stock at the moment and pulled 185 RWKW at 14psi with full 3'' exhaust and FMIC and a Neo turbo.
  8. yeah thanks heaps for that guys. Much appreciated. I dont need to upgrade there is something wrong with this one i think. It is hitting 4.8 volts at stock boost. So yeah think it is shot but there is another in the car they are both green. Thanks heaps. Oh does it matter what rb25det you have as to whether you run the series 1 or 2 AF meter. I am not sure which series the motor came out of. Is there a way of finding out?
  9. Hey guys. I am maxing out my stock air flow meter and the guys at Croyden say it might be faulty. There is another one sitting in the back of my car as i just brought it. Could you please tell me what color sticker or part number in on a rb25 one as i suspect this one might be a rb20. What color are the rb20det ones. Help asap required. Cheers
  10. bit of a late reply have not ben on here in a while. Darwin is great in my eyes. The people are normally pretty easy to get along with the lifestyle is very laid back. Traffic is great dyno shops. Well the best is High Tech Tuning he is very good to work with. There is heaps of track days and drift and drags. Alot of motorsport events and cruises also. Food is cheap as hell if you shop at the markets and a butcher. Wollies and coles are terrible. Fuel is a muchness You need to buy it so dont whinge. Other than that i would say it is great.

Thanks if thats the case im pretty sure its the DET version it doesn't start spooling till round 3800 full boost at 4600 got told it was because the cooler and piping i was running plus the timing is out i think. 600/400/100 i think pretty big all the same with 3'' piping on it and only 7psi. Will timing make the turb come in later
  16. hey guys just searched on the engine side and yes there is the VG30DET and DETT so that answers that but still need to know whether the DET is steel wheeled or not and what boost is safe

Hey guys another silly question is there two different types of vg30dett one being a DET not TT also if there is are the turbs different one being steel wheeled i got told i was buying a steel wheeled vg30DET turb but not sure how to tell wat is wat if its steel wheeled wats the safe boost level ADRNLN Billy got this turb for me so hoping its all good he said it good for 18psi but i only want 14 to 15 psi will it cope.....
  18. Hey guys as most of you will know i am putting a rb in my s13 the mech had alot of trouble getting it running but now it seems ok i just worried bout my compression... I have ben told they have around 150psi although mine only has 100psi in all 6 cylinders so yeah i have a thicker head gasket (metal) would this be the prob the mech says it will be ok because they are all at the same psi so yeah is this to low or not... Also i have a VG30DET turbo on the rb20 at the moment and am only running stock boost till engine and clutch is run in 7PSI although i have 3'' cooler piping and front mount 600/400/100 i think but its very laggy in a sense that you can hear the turbo start spooling at aroung 3100rpm but nothing happens till 4800rpm could this just be a case of lack of boost with the cooler and piping and will the problem go away after i boost it to 14.7psi after run in Thanks in advance
  19. hey guys i have told the tuner to try it with out the resister pack and what do you know it works all fine and af ratio stays steady all the way but now i have a missfire i think it is the coil packs so have to check that out this week but almost done i will try and post picks for you guys soon hopefully i get the power figure i want fingers crossed
  20. k thanks mate any ideas as to why it may be hard to start could it be fuel as it has sat for around 5mnths
  21. i would say the Greddy over the blitz any day much better even for low boost setting they hold really well and deff wont spike
  22. i Think its the injector resister pack i talking bout its a little silver fuse looking thing bolts to your chassis i think on the strut tower in bay not 100% sure wat this does as i dont have one and neither does my mate r32 gtst but i have trouble starting it and my mech says this is the problem could it be or should i be looking at some other cause any help would be great thanks guys OH and how much power should i expect and ET with followin setup S13 silvia Rb20DET FMIC VG30deT turbo SAFC11 ARSM 3'' DUMP 3'' Zorst Fuel Pump 12 PSIEXCEDY CLUTCH
  23. hey guys i have the rb20 in my silvia as far as i know those conversions are pretty spot on as 1.0bar is 14.7 psi so they sound about right. As for the safe boost limit a mate of mine in Darwin was running 14psi through stock turbo for ages still is now i think although when i did it it spun the wheel off the shaft like the other guys on here were saying so they are right about that so i personally would only run 12psi to be safe or better still get a hold of a turbo off the VG30DET 300ZX APPROX $300 and use that it is a direct bolt on other than oil feed lines and they arn't hard to do and they have a steel rear wheel so can handle around 18psi then boost it to 1.0 bar and have fun how ever with these engines i wouldnt over rev them to much they tend to spin big end bearings G.L Let us know wat power figure you end up with
